Behind the nuke, napalm is the weapon I'm most fascinated with.
Pretty sure you can make it out of household ingredients.
weapons grade napalm? Or that concoction of Styrofoam and gasoline.

One is probably a war crime where as the other is just a good way for stupid kids to hurt themselves.
Everything burns.
>water
Just add petrol.

I've seen plenty of people complain about the shitposting, but not many seem to create topics for discussion

They want better discussion, but can't think of stuff to discuss.
It's not bad, t's just wanting a solution but not knowing how to get it themselves.
Everybody has some idea of what they want, it might be vague and general, but with the right discussion you can figure out what everybody really wants while having a not shitposting discussion to start it all off.

I just don't understand what laws you're referring to.  There's no universal law that says organisms cannot be brought back to life; a sufficient knowledge of how the body functions and repairs is the only thing that stands in front of our capability to do the very same.
No there isn't, but there's the common fact that when people die they tend to stay dead. Without an explanation for how one could come back after being dead for 3 days, or float up into the sky when he's done with being on Earth, it's pretty difficult to think somebody would believe the story, don't you think?

Most users seem to use this as an escape from their everyday lives, which they all have problems with. As a result, not many users come for serious discussion or debate, but instead just for silly comments that they find fun to make and count as enjoyable interactions with other members.

I've seen plenty of people complain about the shitposting, but not many seem to create topics for discussion like what they want to see more of on the forum. Why not try that?

Well, it might not specifically be a law, but Humans die. The body does not last forever and it can only endure so much, and after that it is used up. I'm just asking, in what logical way could a Human body have survived what Jesus went through, and how could it have come back to life? We know how to resuscitate the body now, but that's only to a certain extent; and I think what Christ went through is beyond what we could fix today. Back then, they didn't even have what we have now, so in what way following the laws of physics could Jesus Christ have come back after death?

No clue, I know very little about biology. I'm not sure why you're even looking for an explanation in the realm of our current capabilities, because we've established that we're talking about an omnipotent being that set the known universe in motion.
I'm asking because without some sort of answer that follows the laws that God created for this universe to stay to, then there's no sense in it having happened.

So you're saying the Bible is the most credible of all holy books?
Unquestionably, yes.
Quote
And do you really think Jesus rose from the dead or is that supposed to be figurative?

If it were figurative then there'd be no Christianity. Something that can't overcome death can hardly be called a deity.
How do you explain that though? Somebody literally rising from the dead makes no sense scientifically today, and it's pretty far-fetched to get people to believe, don't you think?
I mean, if you're willing to assume the reality of an omnipotent being, then I don't think that same being resurrecting a corporeal part of itself is a huge stretch of the imagination.
Isn't that blatantly breaking the laws this universe follows, though? Why would God create the laws of physics just to break them later on, if he knows everything that has been and will be?

I'm confused; where is death covered in the laws of physics? The laws of motion don't discuss it, nor do the laws of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or any other field. Already we're grasping the ways to manipulate the world around us to prolong life, and pull someone back from the brink. It's not unbelievable that if humanity continues to prosper, death may soon become a thing of the past (and by 'soon' I'm speaking in the scope of all of human existence). Whether that's through the 'singularity' or by advanced medicine is only speculation. To think that a being with access to ostensibly infinite information, or even literally in direct control of the entire universe, couldn't do something as simple as resurrect a human body after three days is simply untenable.

If you're interested in more of a scientific approach to theology, check out John Polkinghorne. He's an eminent physicist and an Anglican priest that is arguably the leader in bridging the fields of religion and science. For a logic-based orator, check out Ravi Zacharias, one of the foremost theologians alive today.

Apparently we're going to need the insulted users to post in the thread approving of the OP insulting them for it to be okay.

It would seem this is what happens when some users don't learn when to stop insulting another user that wants them to stop.

Someone should invent a way of perhaps muting other members, or maybe have rules that make sense and are actually enforced correctly.
If I ever had the power or ability to do anything like that, then I would. But srry.

I just looked up the description for a mechanical keyboard and I don't even understand the difference. It uses springs? Okay...

I will say they are a bit better and last a lot longer, but that doesn't suddenly make it worth more than $30.
I still have old ass wired keyboards from the 90's that work fine. The last keyboard I had gotten rid of was a cheap wireless one that worked for a decade and did everything I needed it to do. I don't understand what you'd need a $100+ keyboard for, but apparently there's a market for it.

Is jhp hollow point? idk what soft point is. I imagine getting shot in general would make me stop what I'm doing and start swearing and praying with extreme enthusiasm, why does different kind of ammo matter so much for self defense?
Jacketed hollow point.
The kind of ammo you're shooting has so many effects on tissue damage and penetration factors. There's a good reason you hunt with hollow tips,  and FMJ 30-06 would just go clean through a deer without much of an exit wound. That's the same logic used for defense ammo. You want to put as much damage on the target as you can and not have to worry about overpenetration causing the round to fly in to something or someone else after exiting the intended target.
I thought all hollow point ammo had a copper jacket, and doesn't all modern ammo have a jacket?

Okay, but if regular FMJ just goes right through the target, then why is the majority of military ammo not JHP? Wouldn't you want to cause as much damage to the target as possible?

Kinda related, does it really mean that much when people talk about the stopping power of a handgun caliber? I've heard people say this plenty of times before that they would like a .45 better, or that the military should go back to the .45 since it has more stopping power. Is there really that big of a difference between a 9mm and .45 in stopping power from a handgun, and is stopping power even the big of a deal in the first place?
There's international law banning expanding ammunition from use in international warfare. May or may not count as a serious warcrime. I never looked in to it much, I just know it's there.

I'm not nearly enough of a ballistics nut to tell you the characteristics of 9x19 vs. .45ACP, but one of the big advantages of the nine is grater ammo capacity. One of the largest complaints about the specific Beretta M9 if I recall right was that id doesn't like sand. Like, it REALLY doesn't like sand.
Ah, well okay. Don't understand the rationale behind that law, but I guess that's a reason not to have it. I suppose it's good to have standards for how you want to murder people.

If the Beretta M9 is the Anakin Skywalker of guns, then why is it the default handgun of the US Military, whose forces have been deployed in a massive desert for like 20+ years? Why not a Glock or something?

What are you going to do with the ammo? Kill people?

With standard pressure fmj? Lol!

 8)
If that 2 year old could kill his mom in one shot with her CC gun that was in her purse, then the sky is the limit.

Cc ammo =/= fmj.

Admittedly I keep a mag of fmj in my gun while it's in safe. But that's because something is better than nothing. FMJ is not good defensive ammo. It's solid leading to over pens and little damage transferred to tissue compared to jhp or hell even soft point
I'm just an upper middle class white boy that enjoys weapons and armor, but has neither and as such doesn't get to shoot. Go easy on me.

Gonna take a guess and say they were 1: testing the limitations of their matchmaking system and 2: planning something big for BTB.
I remember when I used to think that Betas were just for something while the devs were planning massive, amazing, elaborate gameplay things. Ah, unrealistic optimism.
I don't think massive or elaborate, but a new BTB gametype isn't far out of the question, since the beta had a bunch of new modes.
It's probably more their balls tier matchmaking system.  It can barely put 8 people together, let alone 16.  It'd probably be better if they didn't chase off everyone ever.
What did the Beta have that was new? We've had Elimination for a long, long time.

Yes, they do have free will and can sin. At least, some of them can. Others are what's known as 'elect' and cannot sin.
Quote
There is very little canon scripture dealing with it, and quite a bit of apocryphal information on them.
So, why are some angels not able to sin and some are? Was there any real understandable point to that?

That's really what makes this problem for me. I've read most of the Bible(I don't think I've ever gotten through all of Psalms or the one similar to it) and I cannot remember anything written truly explaining the Angels and Satan/Lucifer. They're characters that are there and fundamental to they story, but aren't explained how they came to be, why they were made, and why they do what they do. That's part of what has always really baffled me with the Christian faith, preaching about how Satan wants your soul and to pull you away from God to make you his pawn, but there's nothing really saying that in the Bible. It's one of the things that really makes the belief seem shaky to me when I think about it.

Quote
Job's an interesting case, because by some exegesis (analyzing text), the 'satan' screwing with Job wasn't Lucifer, it was just an angel (though I honestly think the conversation they had was largely allegorical). But yeah, Lucifer was still an angel, probably capable of going back to heaven until judgement day.
Really? I've never heard of that, can you link the analysis or explain that?

Now, in part because of my inability to find anything saying Lucifer is outright bad and against God, I've thought "what if Lucifer was made by God as an angel to put Mankind through trials". What would you think about that specifically, is there any text saying that cannot be?

Quote
Revelation is awesome. One of my favorite books of the Bible. Imagine taking some uneducated guy from 40 AD and showing him the future, with all the technology and scenery that he couldn't even comprehend, followed by something even more difficult to imagine: the literal apocalypse. All the weird shit you read about is John struggling to make sense of it all.
It's a good story that's very entertaining to read, I'll give it that. However, I can't help but shake the feeling that it doesn't really fit in all that well with the message of God loving all his children and wanting nothing more than to reunite with them. Because, well, almost the entire Human race is left behind and abandoned by God, who returns to pretty much destroy all of them along with Satan and his fallen angels. In the moral/spiritual sense there is where I disagree with it, and combined with how John was exiled on an island by himself it doesn't seem unfathomable that he was just losing it mentally or got on some kind of trip.

Reminder that I wrote this for some reason.
Spoiler
A prophecy against Babylon that Assassin 11D7 son of Bungie saw:

Raise a banner on a bare booty thread,

shout to them;

beckon to them

to enter the gates of the Mythics.

I have commanded those I prepared for battle;

I have summoned my Desticles to carry out my wrath—

those who rejoice in my triumph.

Listen, a noise across the sites,

like that of a great multitude!

Listen, an uproar among the forums,

like nations massing together!

The Deej Almighty is mustering

an army for war.

They come from faraway lands,

from the ends of the #destiny—

the Deej and the weapons of his wrath—

to destroy the whole offsite.

Wail, for the day of the Deej is near;

it will come like destruction from the Almighty.

Because of this, all hands will go limp,

every browser will freeze with "wut class u gon pleh?".

Terror will seize them,

pain and anguish will grip them;

they will writhe like a woman in labor.

They will look aghast at each other,

their faces aflame.

See, the day of the Deej is coming

—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—

to make the offsite desolate

and destroy the sinners within it.

The threads of Camnator with their booty

will not show their light.

The rising anime posts will be darkened

and the Cheat will not give its light.

I will punish Sep7agon for its evil,

the wicked for their shitposts.

I will put an end to the arrogance of the Serious

and will humble the pride of the Gamers.

I will make posters scarcer than quality threads,

more rare than the word of Reconz.

Therefore I will make the heavens tremble;

and the earth will shake from its place

at the wrath of the Deej Almighty,

in the day of his burning anger.

Like a hunted gazelle,

like sheep without a shepherd,

they will all return to their own people,

they will flee to their native forum.

Whoever is captured will be banned;

all who are caught will fall by the sword of Crota.

Their titlebars will be dashed to pieces before their eyes;

their threads will be looted and their waifus violated.

See, I will stir up against them the Desticles,

who do not care for Halo

and have no delight in Reconz.

Their idiocy will strike down the brain cells;

they will have no mercy on shitposts,

nor will they look with compassion on waifus.

Sep7agon, the jewel of forums,

the pride and glory of the Floodians,

will be overthrown by Deej

like B.old and #gaming.

She will never be inhabited

or posted in through all generations;

there no floodians will pitch their threads,

there no posters will rest their plug.djs.

But desticles will lie there,

jackals will fill her courtyards;

there the Spartanken's will dwell,

and there the Reachtards will leap about.

Ninjas will inhabit her strongholds,

Ktan her luxurious palaces.

Her time is at hand,

and Sep7agon's days will not be prolonged.
