What is this picture?
Bagged milk, mankind's greatest invention and greatness Americans will never know of
It doesn't work in America because it isn't cold enough here to freeze solid, and it would spill open. Nice try though, igloo/10

I may or may not have just watched Halo 5's ending, and it's actually alright.
It probably was the same thing I saw.
I don't get how people are going to understand this game at all without reading the novels.
link? edit: nvm

I like this story, in all honesty.
Seriously, what did you guys want?
Cortana's been descending into shit since the end of Halo 2. We needed that plot thread to go somewhere, and for her to be an antagonist, if you ask me, is cool.
I was honestly hoping for a story where Chief and Blue team go off on their own and Chief really develops more of a character (since so many people critiqued that he didn't really have one outside the novels). Without Cortana he'd develop his humanity, making choices on his own to try his best to benefit the galaxy and fight not as a machine but as a human. Blue team would've facilitated this as they all could've done so supporting each other. Really didn't give a shit about Cortana's story going on, she was more or less guaranteed death since Halo 2, got lucky in 3 and should've stayed dead in 4. I don't care for the comicbook school of story-telling where nobody ever really dies. Which looks to be what 343i are into so far given Halo 4 and this supposed plot.

Do you not feel that you owe it to others to give them fair information from an unbiased source, or at least both sides of the argument and let them develop their own thoughts on it? No, because if they cared about the issue they would have already learned about it.
The point of my thread was to highlight what Trudeau is in support of -- if I had said, "he opposed the increase in ethical behavior for video game journalists", it wouldn't have really made sense.
Providing the part of GG that Trudeau opposes provides more context. This thread isn't about GamerGate -- it's about Trudeau.
Mate, may I quote. After all this time I hear gamergate and I still don't know what that whole thing is. If someone is completely oblivious of a subject, and a specific negative attributed to that subject is being discussed, you do not solely inform them of said negatives. As they are completely unaware, you take a step back and explain the term and meaning behind it, you don't continue from the point you are already at. Not to mention this is the comment you made, further indicating what would appear to be your own heavy bias against gamergate. Essentially, Gamergate was a movement by neckbeards on reddit, 4chan, etc. against people like Sarkeesian who argue that video game culture is often misogynistic. Hell, if you'd at least just outright say you hate all the subhuman swine that support the hashtag, you don't want anyone to know anything positive about it to further your own beliefs, and anyone that doesn't want to be attributed to the label of "feminism", regardless of any further deliberation or context, then at least I'd find that more admirable than trying to dance around this whole discussion.

>isn't a feminist
Can't really take you seriously.
Please tell me you're joking. Based on your other posts in this thread, I really can't tell.

I'm not overreacting Eh, could just be confirmation bias after your reaction to my comments about Ultron but that isn't relevant.
if pointing out where you're missing important details that I think should be mentioned is overreacting, idk how to help you mate. I don't think they're worth mentioning because those important details don't have anything to do with why Trudeau mention GG.
Dude, sandtrap asked he didn't know what the whole thing was about, and you gave him one of the most biased articles you could on the subject. Yes, it's relating to what Trudeau was only thinking about, but that's taking something completely out of the context it originated from. Do you not feel that you owe it to others to give them fair information from an unbiased source, or at least both sides of the argument and let them develop their own thoughts on it?

Regardless, Trudeau's statement was in reference to the death threats, raids and general harassment of Sarkeesian and co., who are the face of the "feminism in gaming" movement.
I was simply providing context for those two. No need to overreact.
I'm not overreacting, if pointing out where you're missing important details that I think should be mentioned is overreacting, idk how to help you mate. So, disregarding the whole thing about how the movement, generally speaking of course, since online movements aren't truly controllable, was not with the intent to harass anyone and was in support of better journalistic standards? I've seen some examples of the harassment and death threats and plenty of it is benign stuff, just average 12 yo's that heard some lady was being a mean bitch and decided to give her a few choice words.

GamerGate is still a thing?
Doesn't gain as much buzz as it did when shit originally hit the fan and people on both sides were going apeshit and others fanned the flames, but there's still people using the hashtag supporting their movement. https://twitter.com/hashtag/gamergate?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^hashtagThink they might've had a schism recently too, not sure though.

Did you really link the wikipedia page, which is locked and easily the most one-sided piece of work that makes plenty of politicians' statements demonizing their opponents look silly? Uh, yeah. I did. Considering that it provided the most basic understanding of the fiasco.
I mean, I didn't substantiate my opinion based on Wikipedia.
I mean, just shit, any retard that thinks critically could tell that source is garbage. How is it garbage if it explains the situation? Obviously Sandtrap and Endor don't know much about it. Wikipedia provided a basic understanding of the issue. Sue me, christ.
>"Gamergate is about sexism and progressiveism in video game culture" Except before I even paid the slightest bit of attention to the subject, I could've told you that it was in response to journalistic malpractice by reviewers, and that some groups of radical leftists online were getting upset and putting together mute lists and trying to censor all opposition that criticized people like Zoe Quinn, Sarkessian, etc. A clusterfuck is an ample description for the whole thing, but no sides should be taken if you're going to describe the situation to somebody that doesn't know about it. That wikipedia page was clearly written by the biased anti-gamergate side, there's a pro-gamergate side entirely ignored by your attempt at explanation. It would be like only asking for an American's opinion on Russia during the cold war, or vice-versa. Completely stupid, and in no way guaranteed to give an accurate picture of events.

After all this time I hear gamergate and I still don't know what that whole thing is. Hope this helps.
The Gamergate controversy began in August 2014 and concerns sexism and progressivism in video game culture. It is most notable for harassment against several feminists in the video game industry, including game developers Zoë Quinn and Brianna Wu, and cultural critic Anita Sarkeesian. The campaign of harassment was coordinated in IRC channels and online forums such as Reddit, 4chan, and 8chan by an anonymous and amorphous group that ultimately came to be represented by the Twitter hashtag #Gamergate. The harassment included doxing, threats of rape, and death threats as well as being related to a mass shooting threat in protest of an invited speech featuring Sarkeesian. Gamergate has been described as a manifestation of a culture war over gaming culture diversification, artistic recognition, social criticism of video games, and the gamer social identity. Some of the people using the Gamergate hashtag allege collusion among feminists, progressives, journalists and social critics, which they believe is the cause of increasing social criticism in video game reviews. Some hashtag users have said the goal for their actions is to improve the ethical standards of video game journalism. These concerns have been widely dismissed by commentators as trivial, based on conspiracy theories, unfounded in fact, or unrelated to actual issues of ethics. Users of the hashtag launched email campaigns targeting firms advertising in publications of which they disapproved, asking them to withdraw their advertisements. Essentially, Gamergate was a movement by neckbeards on reddit, 4chan, etc. against people like Sarkeesian who argue that video game culture is often misogynistic.

Is political science a pseudoscience?
well no shit
how is politics a fucking science? kill yourself
How is astronomy a science?
Its literally just physics for special snowflakes who aren't intelligent enough to commit to real physics
That's astrophyics, astronomy is looking at stars and shit with regular telescopes, then radio telescopes, then hoping you can send a drone there sometime to look at rocks.
Oh so its for retards who can't do physics at all?
Not being overly cynical; from personal experience, there's a mix of physics, chemistry, and electrical/computer work that mostly manifests in experiments, chart reading, spectroscopy, and interpreting data. Although, yeah there are some times where you just sit around until 3am inside a small bunker next to a radio telescope waiting for the time to be right to record the signals from something, then you just turn a few knobs press a couple buttons then do that again 15 minutes later before walking 1/2 a mile, hoping you don't startle a deer, back to the beds and going to sleep.

I love how you dance around on technicalities to try and prove your point no matter how far you have to look and dig just to deflect every ounce of negative naysay that goes 343's way. Umm, lol. You aren't really in a position to say I'm scraping for things when that's literally the only thing you've done. "oh 343 bought cortana back. obviously gonna make halo 6 about forerunners and stuff and them being in path kethona blah blah another sandtrap babble"
It's pretty obvious they're just taking this in a direction where the AI are just standing in/are puppets for the Precursors and humanity is standing in for the Forerunners.

Bringing back Cortana was unpredictable in the sense that nobody was predicting that 343 would throw their most interesting plot decision entirely out the window.
I would like this post, except plenty of people were predicting it, and plenty of people were just praying they didn't really do it. And so, yeah, are Mendicant Bias and Spark just getting the shaft for this game? Granted, Spark's survival was just in a book and I really wouldn't have minded him staying dead, but Bias supposedly set the events of Halo 4 in motion back in 3. No mention of him at all would just be a massive failure of an opportunity; although, the Cortana thing sure is as well.

Jesus fuck, I can't fathom having to create custom modes using nothing but the game type edit menu. What the hell did we ever do in CE and 2 for custom games before 3 came along?
I can't possibly have fun in custom games without forge for a whole month.
Zombies/etc. with honor rules along with Cops and Robbers, which typically only works on a single map. Think about it as a throwback Halo CE/2 experience.
