I am a writer.
oh really

would you mind if i read any of your published works

i have none

but i do write so by definition i am a writer
That's not really how it works buddy boy.

Would eventual writer work better then? Future writer? Hypothetical writer?
You're just not really a writer.

You like to write. I like to play baseball. I'm not a baseball player though.
Yeah, you are. You're not a professional baseball player, though.

Oh man, I'd love it if every president was actually a Templar and every assassination attempt in history was actually done by the good guys.
Well thank Christ you're not a writer.

A) I was only semiserious and
B) I am a writer.

And besides that that's still better writing that the entire bit with Desmond and those aliens and all that bullshit.
Still cliche as fuck tho.

So is the rest of the series.
How is using technology to read ancient memories in DNA to relive memories of your ancestors stabbing power-hungry dudes cliche?

Or to, you know, continue the modern day story
That would require them to make good modern day characters and good modern day gameplay.

I got banned for telling people not to interact with a user that was either stupid or a troll, and then the mod that banned me continued to take bait for at least a month afterwards. 343i knows how to pick their staff.

Damn, if Waypoint wasn't so blindingly white and filled with Halo fanboys, I'd consider going there. That's a nice looking forum they got there.
I'd give you a week before bannu.

I can easily pass the physical and I'm close to getting a degree in mechanical engineering, but I have no flight experience. If I actually put in the work I probably could do it.
Congrats, you've got to February to finish your degree and put 3 years of professional work in.

In all seriousness, why do you complain about High Charity's size of all things? Think about it, what would have going out of the way through some means, that would likely have seemed impossible for any of the characters other than Gravemind to know how he did it, have actually added to Halo 3's story-telling narrative? I can't imagine how telling such a thing to the audience, regardless of how well the means fit into the story, would have made the game better in any way.
Because it makes no sense.

High Charity should not have been able to get to the Ark.

But it did.
This is actually really simple.
1.) What would it add to the plot? Oh, nothing.
2.) How would it make the narrative stronger? Oh, it wouldn't.

It adds nothing, it would only take up more space, more space is more time and more resources. This might be the most insignificant thing, as it has no effect on the story at all, you could complain about.

Nobody playing the games and novels only would have found anything to complain about here, I'd like to point out. It doesn't make sense, gee, it's almost like the story doesn't need to explain how every single event happens. It's not like it's implausible that Gravemind would've been able to figure something out if there was a problem, come on guy.
Except it's just more evidence of how little Bungie cared for the plot at this point. The game's already full of plot holes and character assassinations and this just adds to the list. Nowhere had it been established prior to Halo 3 that objects bigger than a portal can pass through.
The effect it has on the story is that it loses consistency and means events later on shouldn't have been able to happen.
It would lose consistency if we knew Gravemind had no way of getting to the Ark, which we did not. How he did really doesn't matter in terms of the story from the perspective we play from.

After rewatching the Halo 4 campaign, I have come to the conclusion that Halo 5's campaign is donkey balls. Not by gameplay standards, and not even by character standards but for the plot.It just destroyed everything that Halo 4 had the courage to do, and made it null and void.

The only think that it did right was to start with Jul 'Mdama and it also ruined it. Fuck! Shit!

Sorry, visitors.
I thought it was a great end to Jul's character arc. Very dignified.

They're different variants of those vehicles. More armor, faster firing weapons, different colors, et cetera.
This doesn't answer any of my questions. Why does it have swords, and are they green and mean?

Sword ghost is red, does more damage, and has more armor. Corp vehicles are yellow and mellow.

I always thought that the Gravemind overloaded High Charity's slipspace drives to make a single great jump into dark space and get to the Ark.
I thought that he just used his advanced knowledge of slipspace to travel into the 'highway' that the portal made.

Again, it's one of those things that while it can be nice to know if you want to know everything ever, but for the most part it just doesn't matter how he did it, just that he did.

Um, they did.

Halo 3 had the Covenant as a mission. That was hands down the most fun mission in any halo game ever. Two. Scarabs.

Reach had the best story narrative, the slow demise of your squad whilst you try to save the planet ;-;7 RIP remember reach never 5get.
One mission does not save it from a shitty plot full of holes.

While it had a good narrative (that butchered previously established lore), it had bland characters, bland settings and annoying squad AI.
I don't see any plotholes in the story.
You land on earth after halo 2, you link up with the friendly elites and shoot your way to the main base for the humans. You then help the humans on earth whilst the covvies dig up the keyship, which opens the portal to the ark. You go to the ark, stop them making more halo rings and the flood arrive to fuck shit up. You beat them all, escape but get cut off by the explosions/portal and go to sleep.

>why did the humans follow truth even though they knew he needed humans to activate halo
>why did master chief opt to venture into the flood hive alone despite being shit scared of the flood

>why was miranda keyes so fucking retarded the entire game especially that part where she crashes a pelican alone into the citadel to stop truth rather than just using the pelican's gun to shoot everyone in there sacrificing johnson
>why does the first half of halo 3 not even have a plot

So I was just watching the Reach Legendary Ending. Never played it. But probably will when BC comes out. Don't care how much people say it sucks, I wanna play it. Anyways. Why is that ending in 2589 when even Halo 5 takes places in 2058?

Reach doesn't have a legendary ending.

Halo 5 takes place in 2558
Yeah, I meant 2558. Regardless, Legendary or not. The ending narration takes place in 2589.
Some speech Halsey made, presumably at a monument dedicating Noble Team's sacrifice(before lol Jun's not dead). Was when Reach begins to become colonized again.

For me I just care about Halo having a great story.

You and everyone else, bud. This is the problem, though:

Almost everyone, save Roman, would be okay if Master Chief wasn't the main character so long as we got a great story instead. But we didn't. We got a shitty story, AND we only got to play as Chief for 3 missions.

Shitty story? That's a debate, for me i thought the story was good.

And as for Chief, thinking about it kind of thought that maybe Chief should have like 7 missions ( if we do the math, that would mean that Locke would have 8 missions, 8 + 7 = 15 missions in total, pretty even for everyone) .
Considering most hopes for where the story would go were along the lines of:
-Chief and Blue go awol b/c they learn about shifty things ONI has done
-Chief n' Pals to soul search
-have Chief connect with his more human side and try to uphold his own version of the Mantle
-Chief tries to find way back to Ark to talk to Mendicant Bias about penance, life, and stuff
-Locke n' Pals are undertaking mission to take Chief down b/c he's been too close to bad happenings post awol
-Locke n' Pals join up with Arby n' Friends on quest to find Chief b/c Arby has connection to Chief
-Gravemind shows up to be a poetic prick again, and resume being the best villain in the franchise
-Cortana is dead, plz stay dead, for the love of any character development in Chief and the sake of non-cheesy story telling, plz stay dead forever.

I think it failed substantially. Maybe I'll find the above fan-fiction someday.
