They both have their flaws, but the prequels are the ones focused on the most, due to Lucas' change in beliefs on what to do with his movies, inconsistency, and that nobody tried to sway his thoughts. Like when working on The Phantom Menace nobody was willing to challenge Lucas on the script/characters/etc.
