Verb would honestly be a terrible mod
In general, I'd have to agree that having a once permabanned member become a mod seems like a poor idea.

I can see why people would want him to be mod though, given that he's practically religious when it comes to rules, but I see his own beliefs getting in the way at some point.

Actually, what "fried Rocket's ass to a nice golden-brown" was a thread where he insulted a user, then when that user responded he banned them.

Rocket didn't ban them. He threatened to ban them.
Oh, the red x beside the username didn't mean a ban?
There used to be a symbol anyone could see that would be on a user's posts if they were warned.

I also tried to explain my POV on it, because I expect many others to feel the same way, but they might not choose to observe, but instead judge you before you've done anything. Two examples are Ganondorf, and Incan.
Incan's a friend. He's just taking the piss out of it.
He comes off as sincere to me.

"If Luci really is made a mod then the moderation team here has no idea what they're doing. One of the worst picks possible tbh. I mean I know Luci personally, she will not make a good moderator."
Just banter. Given how he knew me 4 years ago, he can easily attest to how better I've gotten. There was a dark time I unironically loved ponies and had a Noelle tier relationship/reaction.
Oh god
Why are we settling with this ex-degenerate, when Chally here has done no wrong?

nuka too?
People were extremely accepting of Nuka. Not sure what you're talking about.
"extremely accepting"

haha
ha

you're funny
Well, you did have literally the whole forum minus Dustin (who had the sole intent of fanning the flames as hard as he could) and me get together for a primo lynch mob against Camnator.
I'm pretty sure that's largely due to the fact that people knew they'd get hit by the mods. After that settled the rest depended on me having a thick skin, and I had to take what was dished out at me. So no special treatment there.
You still had around a dozen people supporting you that weren't just waiting to take potshots.

CIS was never banned by Rocketman.
I could've sworn he banned someone.
I remember warning you and somebody else for spamming the flood with threads late at night. That's all I remember really, I think late night spamming happened twice.
I think that was when me and Nexus wanted to keep the warned symbol on our posts. Then a bunch of people tried copying us.
Maybe. It was after the initial "woah being warned is cool" trend that started.
The only ban I recall getting around that time was when I made a thread with TBlocks in the title after talking to him in a group chat on b.net. Pretty sure that was Psy who banned me for that.

>a girl uses the Internet
>"OH MY GOD WTF HE MUST BE A TRANNY LOL IVE NEVER SEEN A GIRL SO I DONT BELIEVE U!!!"
tbf there's like maybe 2 females on this site that aren't confirmed trannies. The odds aren't favorable, no thanks to bungle.
It's so sick that if you say you're a guy, everyone believes you, but if you're a girl, you need to post "proof" and people speculate on your gender and shit. Just disgusting. Get a fucking life.
It's called statistics.
It's called a double standard.
Except it's not. Statistically, users of this site are more likely to be biologically male, this applies to most internet forums in general. When a user claims to be something that is statistically highly unlikely, it is only natural to ask for some form of confirmation that what they're claiming is true. Think about BC for a minute, he has claimed that he is exceedingly wealthy, and many users have routinely demanded evidence when it is relevant to conversation. This is no different than a user on here claiming to be a female.
Asking for "proof" that BC is wealthy is just as fucked up. People don't ask poor people to post proof that they're poor. It's a straight-up double standard, and the fact that you care at all about whether or not people are lying on the Internet (fun fact: anything anyone says here could be a lie) is indicative of the problem.
.... That's because it's more likely for a user to not be wealthy than for a user to be wealthy.

Clearly you don't care about honesty, but surely you understand that logic one follows when they do care about honesty? When they do care about honesty, this is no double standard.

I suppose you could try to think of it as a matter of mere curiosity then. Wouldn't you be curious to know if a highly unlikely claim were true, more so than a highly likely one?

While I appreciate your shilling for the closet scalie and the Canuck, they were not received well with the community and it was decided that the best course of action was to remove their mod status.

I've heard other things about their moderation, and you've still yet to inform me of why they were received poorly.

I also don't trust this forum's judgement. I mean, we only just introduced strict moderation. What does that tell you.
The moderation has been more strict in the past at times, particularly in Rocket's case this is what helped fry his ass to a nice golden-brown.

In one instance that I can recall, RC and some other user were joking around in a thread where the title/OP called RC out(at the time making threads calling out other users was generally forbidden). The other user got bannu'd by Rocket(maybe RC was given a warning, can't recall), at which point RC and maybe some other users complained about Rocket being "no fun allowed" and generally bad at his position. I'm sure there were other cases, but there was so much drama and idiocy on this site at the time I can't remember.

TBlocks was also in charge of the Sep7agon plug.dj room which a bunch of people hated on him for in there, can't really remember why. He was also upgraded from Monitor to mod for a while, I don't recall him enjoying it, and he didn't keep the position either.
RC wasn't ever involved in anything that happened
Who was it then? Ember or Nexus?

CIS
Huh, thanks, didn't remember that.

My, my... How history obscures the details. Rocket and I were with Yutaka in the running to be mod when the Monitor role was phased out the first time.
Yeah, but he asked for why you guys didn't stay mods. Yu, despite being an insufferable weeb, was the only one that didn't earn the complete ire of the community.
Well I mean... complete ire is a bit of a stretch I would say...
Is 78% a bit more fair?
If you must say there was "ire" then I suppose.
In my eyes it was Yutaka's lack of posting that was one reason he got the job whereas me and Rocket were exceedingly vocal at the time of the trial.
All this tells me is that Yu understood how to be a better mod.
Take it however you want.
Thanks?

I wasn't here for that, but I doubt they did anything that couldn't be easily fixed.

Neat paradox

Easily debunked though.

Using Google

You shouldn't need Google to know that reducing the mass of something by 1% doesn't magically reduce it 50%.

Oh I thought you meant the X=1 thing

The OP isn't a paradox lol

See: Potato Paradox

The x=1=.99... thing is basic calculus.

What calculus do you need to do to work it out?

It's an example of the use of limits.

Limits isn't calc

And he isn't using it to find a limit

Limits is one of the first things you learn in calc. Why are you even arguing that?

Because I learned it in Algebra II

We did some limits review at the beginning of calc but it wasn't anything I hadn't learned before
Okay, so you learned the fundamentals of calculus in algebra. This is a dumb conversation.

Literally told you that I learned nothing about limits in calc

And you said that this shit was calc
Limits are essential to calculus and are a large part of its theorems. Just because whatever program you're in decided to teach you about limits in algebra doesn't change that it is pretty universally accepted as part of calculus.

That's not how physics works
x= 0,9999
10x= 9,9999

Is this supposed to mean something? Show me units, son.
Do you have to find purpose for all equations?
Yes, whenever they have purpose, as there are some areas of mathematics that don't translate into our dimension of reality, or we just don't know how.
