You've very clearly made up your mind on the topic for now, but I'd say you are going too far.
Quote
It's so funny to me when people argue "what is god trying to tell us", god doesn't exist and it's so damn foolish. It's like they have to say he exists all the time, just to convince themselves. No one gives a shit about evidence. They're so nervous they need there to be a god to make themselves feel comforted.
The whole god doesn't exist thing is something that really can't be proven, and so you cannot win that argument when arguing with a theist, nor can a theist win. Basically, it's a painful waste of time for everyone involved.

People do in fact, care about evidence. There have been many notable Christian scientists throughout time and to assume that Christians don't care about evidence anymore is an erroneous claim. Referring specifically to evidence about the existence of God, you again run into the issue of you cannot disprove God with modern science.

While it is true many people do turn to religion as a form of comfort for the many difficulties they face in their lives, there's nothing inherently wrong about this. It's a community of people coming together over the shared idea of something greater than each of them that binds them together and encourages them to help each other.

You seem to focus on this conception you have of religious people being absolutely, pant-shittingly, terrified of death and just about everything. I can't say where you got this idea from, but I can tell you that it isn't true for every theist or Christian at the least.

1383
I feel like if that were true, half of the 12-page debates you've had wouldn't have happened.
what you get in a lot of those arguments is a bunch of people (at least ten) who end up asking the same questions that were asked pages and pages ago--when i say unpopular stuff people don't agree with, i tend to get dogpiled

it's just what happens--and that's why i end up repeating myself so often

this speaks nothing of my ability to actually "elaborate my rationale"
What's the definition of insanity? Trying the same thing over and over hoping for different results?

Kupo you're better than this

And trying something over again and expecting new results is a totally valid move in real life lol
Listen to Vaas, guys.

a lot of people accuse me of being stubborn--there's a LOT of stubborn people on this website

LC, challengerX, Lemon, Assassin, etc.

when you have a lot of stubborn people, you're gonna have long arguments
Hence one of the, I'm sure many reasons engraved into the minds of some users on this forum of why chally, lemon, or I shouldn't be made moderators. Could you imagine what it would be like if we were the mod team? Good God, next to nothing would be resolved. One stubborn person in charge, LC, should be enough.

1392
Irrelevant given that most people would try to take blind stabs at saying "What do you mean sexuality is wrong?!" and not using logic to defeat his argument.

Which is needed because most of Verb's thoughts are based in logic and as such he believes them to be as such. Being a moderator is good for that because it means he would be unbiased and fully use logic to decide whether someone deserves a ban or not.
Ignoring that Verb has his own set of logic that is set in different principles than the majority of people. Verbatim, unbiased? I find that very doubtful. His take on logic is generally set in an extremist route, he prefers absolutist measures as opposed to compromises. Surely you see the incompatibility inherit in that?

1393
Are you aware that 90% of conversations involving Verb end up getting steered towards anti-natalism?
It entirely depends on the issue at hand. I highly doubt a disagreement over whether someone was sperging out about spoilers could turn into an anti-natalism debate.
You'd be surprised.

Can you think of any times where he exercised great patience when dealing with people, and didn't have pre-judgements about them?
Yes actually. Just the other day there was a sexualism is video games thread where him and I were able to have a civil discussion on the topic and he actually changed his view of the situation. Which is funny because on the past we haven't gotten on great in those types of disagreements.
Only after how many pages of him telling everybody else off?

I'm pretty sure anything related to being trans against Noelle and Kiyo didn't have to do with them being trans so much as acting like utter pricks.
I talked to Noelle recently about Fallout 4

I don't want to talk to Noelle about Fallout 4 anymore. Blind fanboys/girls are the cancer of the internet.

She was on about gun control too and literally said "if they don't agree with me they're wrong". I wanted reach through and strangle her, but I just said "okay".

Haven't talked to her since.
That's really not even that bad for her.

Thinking back, I find it amusing that I got her, Kiyo, and K'tan together in Halo Reach customs last year without anyone ranting about their desires to maim each other.

1395
I'm going to be blunt, here.

Verbatim's obvious temper issues, and an apparent desire to religiously enforce to the rules if given power, would be liabilities. Combine that with a lack of understanding of the basic unwritten rules of governing a forum and it just sounds like a disaster to any right-minded individual.
Obvious seems like a strange word for his temper issues given that he's explained why he gets angry over certain things. It isn't because of his temper, it's because he has to explain things to people many, many, many times. Which I sort of get. And if it's a problem for a mod to have a desire to enforce rules given the power he has then there likely is a problem with the way the rule is written and not with the individual enforcing them.
A lack of patience is a bad thing for a mod, a very bad thing.
A lack of patience for what exactly?
Dealing with other people requires one to not have a lack of patience. Being a moderator requires you to spend time dealing with other people. And like you said, he does not have great patience.
Quote

Coupled with how he's as dense as Osmium, I don't think people would have any sort of enjoyable experience dealing with him as a mod.
I never said he didn't have patience. What I meant by that comment was more on the philosophical side of him and that's what people generally see when they think of his lack of patience. Beyond Anti-natalism he's alright with patience.

Why do people fucking care about their gender or wealth??

As far as I see it, i'll just call them whatever they wish to be called. He or she, or it.
If they're lying, woop de do. How much would it truly affect your life if some dude/gal on a forum was lying about their sex or gender?
Because if you go around making it a primary part of your persona like BC does with his car avatars and fairly routine threads, or just constantly mention it, then people will pay attention to it and wonder why won't you confirm this thing that you're always going on about being a significant aspect of your character?

Again, whether or not they're lying it doesn't make a fucking difference for you. Them being rich, gay, straight, female, male or whatever else doesn't contribute to personality.
Except it does make a difference in that they're either honest or deceiving you, which are also defining things of character.

You have to remember this is the internet, not you and the person lying sitting over a cup of coffee. People do a lot of things online that they would never do in reality. Whether or not you see them that way is your fault. To say someone's silly actions online reflects who they are in real life really is dumb.
If a person is willing to lie online where it's easy, then this will translate to their character outside the internet as well, maybe not as much but to some degree. If you think that your online persona is completely separate from you outside the internet, then you've either been RP'ing as a character the entire time and have worked meticulously to do so, or you aren't thinking about it enough.

However, that's not what I was referring to, as I meant that if they're willing to lie online about something that substantial to you then they're likely to lie about many other things online too.

I'll say this again.

This is an INTERNET FORUM.

If they act like that online, who the fuck cares? And like Class said some people online have better reasons to lie about it other than malicious intent.
Nigs, do you read or just not give a shit? Because if it's the latter you can stop posting, and if it's the former I suggest you read.

It matters because it does hint at their offline personality(despite your claim it doesn't), if a person is willing to lie about a significant aspect of character they're predisposed to lie about other things, and despite their sometimes being valid excuses to lie not all lies are valid and can have malicious intent.

I'm reading just fine, and I answered that already. People have freedom online that they don't in reality, which means some of the darker parts of them show. Yes that is apart of them, but it does not fully represent them.
If someone is trolling online, they are doing it for fun or are just assholes.

The only one that I really can say can represent them is child pedophiles saying their kids or guys/girls playing someone else to lure unsuspecting people into a trap, online or offline.
However that situation is not as often as you think.
Which ultimately shows, that they are okay with fucking with others for fun and being assholes.

So, would lying and starting a debacle of drama not be bad? Would lying about your status to garner the attention of others not be bad? How about lying and getting people to side with you against someone else, and have them reprimanded for doing something? There are many scenarios where lies can create negative outcomes in a virtual community.

FUCK YEAH ANOTHER WEEB AS A MONITOR
You do realise it's kinda childish to just homogenise an entire bunch of users on a website because they all watch anime right?

Sure sure, anime is satan but really now
Honestly

When was the last time a weeb did anything worse than any other user on this website?

Banter is fine, like we give flee flak for being a brony but it's just that - banter. We don't scream blue murder about how he's a degenerate weirdo because he watches a cartoon for little girls (bants)

so pls
grow up a little would ya?
You have to admit trannies and weebs get preferential treatment.

Yeah, well the neat little thing about that is that if the sides were reversed, normalfags would get preferential treatment instead, basically amounting to the same thing.

So, no big deal really since there's no winning either way.
What

If it's not one group getting preferential treatment, it'd end up being the other. To which somebody would inevitably bitch about it. Back to square one anyway.

Course equalized treatment is a thing.

But you know better. That ain't happening.
I'd suggest not having the mod team consist of just gays and weebs would help.

1406
While I appreciate your shilling for the closet scalie and the Canuck, they were not received well with the community and it was decided that the best course of action was to remove their mod status.

I've heard other things about their moderation, and you've still yet to inform me of why they were received poorly.

I also don't trust this forum's judgement. I mean, we only just introduced strict moderation. What does that tell you.
The moderation has been more strict in the past at times, particularly in Rocket's case this is what helped fry his ass to a nice golden-brown.

In one instance that I can recall, RC and some other user were joking around in a thread where the title/OP called RC out(at the time making threads calling out other users was generally forbidden). The other user got bannu'd by Rocket(maybe RC was given a warning, can't recall), at which point RC and maybe some other users complained about Rocket being "no fun allowed" and generally bad at his position. I'm sure there were other cases, but there was so much drama and idiocy on this site at the time I can't remember.

TBlocks was also in charge of the Sep7agon plug.dj room which a bunch of people hated on him for in there, can't really remember why. He was also upgraded from Monitor to mod for a while, I don't recall him enjoying it, and he didn't keep the position either.
RC wasn't ever involved in anything that happened
Who was it then? Ember or Nexus?

CIS
Huh, thanks, didn't remember that.
holy fuck you confused me with cis?

that's fucking low dude
All I remembered was a gay user that complained a bunch. Sorry not sorry.

I think Verbatim is very capable of controlling his argumentative nature if put in a mod position.

>a girl uses the Internet
>"OH MY GOD WTF HE MUST BE A TRANNY LOL IVE NEVER SEEN A GIRL SO I DONT BELIEVE U!!!"
tbf there's like maybe 2 females on this site that aren't confirmed trannies. The odds aren't favorable, no thanks to bungle.
It's so sick that if you say you're a guy, everyone believes you, but if you're a girl, you need to post "proof" and people speculate on your gender and shit. Just disgusting. Get a fucking life.
It's called statistics.
It's called a double standard.
Except it's not. Statistically, users of this site are more likely to be biologically male, this applies to most internet forums in general. When a user claims to be something that is statistically highly unlikely, it is only natural to ask for some form of confirmation that what they're claiming is true. Think about BC for a minute, he has claimed that he is exceedingly wealthy, and many users have routinely demanded evidence when it is relevant to conversation. This is no different than a user on here claiming to be a female.
Asking for "proof" that BC is wealthy is just as fucked up. People don't ask poor people to post proof that they're poor. It's a straight-up double standard, and the fact that you care at all about whether or not people are lying on the Internet (fun fact: anything anyone says here could be a lie) is indicative of the problem.
.... That's because it's more likely for a user to not be wealthy than for a user to be wealthy.

Clearly you don't care about honesty, but surely you understand that logic one follows when they do care about honesty? When they do care about honesty, this is no double standard.

I suppose you could try to think of it as a matter of mere curiosity then. Wouldn't you be curious to know if a highly unlikely claim were true, more so than a highly likely one?
Caring about people lying on the Internet is like caring about people getting refills in restaurants. Point being, it happens all the time and there's no way to keep track of it.
Except, unlike getting refills at a restaurant, lying is something that is widely looked down upon and is rarely socially acceptable. Getting refills isn't breaking any social norms.
