And while I have nothing against female authors, it's just that most don't write hard sci-fi or (good) fantasy novels, which makes up most of my reading interests.

Rokka no Yuusha aired last season, it's basically a detective story in a fantasy setting, shit was pretty good.

Distancing yourself from emotion isn't very difficult, but I would not recommend it. I've resorted to doing less than healthy things to remind myself I'm still alive as a result of it in the past.
