How can you even blame Activision any more than what's already been laid out? They're basically an EA protege at this point; following the money wherever it may lead, because who gives a shit about reputation when people will buy your games regardless.
Get angry at the consumer for eating this shit up, if anything. Not knowing better doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable for this sorry state of gaming we live in now.

Wow...well that sucks. I wonder if Jon still has them all archived somewhere.
He does (lost the original files, but fans have kept copies). I've personally talked with him at length in regards to his personal projects and future, and have discussed with him what he plans to do from here on out once he's done with the current season. Answers were vague, at best, but even if you don't like AntC, he's got significant creative talent that would be better spent elsewhere. And I say that as a fan of the recent, more plot-heavy seasons. Seeing Jon with creative freedom outside of the limitations of video games would be awesome, even though I'm cautiously optimistic about his desire to see Paulie Frost through.

Miura, most of all. I've been into Berserk since my dad (inadvertently) introduced me to it at nine. I don't expect it to ever end at this rate due to Miura's obvious burnout of the series, but the moment he's actually unable to continue? I've been waiting for an end for fourteen years, and I can't imagine what those who actually experienced it from the beginning might feel if he were to die.

Eternal Punishment is the highlight of persona games for me. 5 has the best sense of fulfillment and style. 3 is a slog and horribly paced but it's kind of a guilty pleasure.

I'm pretty fond of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Story is meh, but it has some of the best gameplay I've ever experienced. M&B: Warband is a pretty fun tactical medieval game, but I really just had to force myself through the first few hours until I could get past the flaws (and army commands are either pretty terrible until you get mods to fix them and the awful AI). Homeworld 2 is also pretty fantastic, and I'm fairly sure there was a remaster(?), but I have my old copy from when I was a kid so I play that on occasion when I'm feeling nostalgic.
And Age of Empires for sure. I'm fucking awful at it, but every time I play, I always leave it with a smile and a sense of internal satisfaction.
