So I've now beaten Half Life 2 as well as the episodes. A few thoughts. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed Episode 2 better than the main game. I can't really put my finger on it (environment change/aesthetics?), but I just found it better. I really do feel bad for all those who have waited for Episode 3/Half Life 3 for so long. With the cliffhanger at the end of Episode 2 it leaves so many questions unanswered. I can tell that fans just want a conclusion, but the chances are that they'll never get one.

Hockey, Baseball and Football are the only sports I watch.

Soccer is extremely boring.
Ditto for golf.
Basketball is full of floppers.

Valve: Nothing.

Aren't they making some VR games that nobody cares about?

Microsoft will announce sequels/spinoffs/remakes to existing franchises, but very few new IPs.
PC gaming show will be boring MOBA/early access trash. Maybe one or two interesting games if we're lucky.
New FromSoft game? (Armored Core/Bloodborne 2)

So far Half-Life 2 has been really fun so far, but the long load times even with a beefy computer are pretty disappointing.

That shouldn't be happening if true.

It's <5 seconds (might be even <3) with an i7, 16GB RAM and a 950m for comparison.

HL1 is more Platforms>Fighting>Puzzles while HL2 is Fighting>Puzzles>Platforms. Both have sick music; the sorta techno-noughties stuff that you can instantly date.

The initial load into the game is very quick, but when transitioning to new areas it takes 10-15 seconds to load the game. I have a 4790k GTX 980. Maybe I should verify cache/reinstall to see if it fixes the problem.

[Insert slowpoke meme here]

So, I finally decided to tackle the lauded Half-Life franchise (currently finishing Half-Life 1). So far I've enjoyed the gameplay and story, but Jesus Christ do they need to have one million platforming sections? Does the sequel also have a ton of platforming sections or did they tone it down a little?

I guess it pays to be corrupt.

Good on ya, I haven't got the dlc yet but from what I understand this was no easy feat.

The moveset of the boss is pretty easy to remember, but it can catch you and punish you very hard.

Good stuff, hopefully people that keep trying to fight Midir by running under him and hitting his tail see this so they can stop calling him unfair. Looking forward to your Gael video

Yeah, most of my deaths were when he'd do the lunge forward attack and I'd get stuck underneath him and I couldn't see what he'd do next. Even on my SL120 character Gael was tough. This might take a while.
