because that is consistently the only complaint i've ever hear about it--"too much like dark souls 1"

Combat is too focused around dodging due to weakened shields and rolls being spammable with little punishment Weapon balance is very poor. Heavy weapons do not do enough damage to warrant their weight and stamina consumption. A good example of this is the Fume Ultra Greatsword. It is the heaviest, most stamina hungry weapon in the entire game but does not do top-tier damage or even close to. Some weapons outright outclass other weapons in their category, like the Carthus Curved Sword being better in every meaningful way than all the other curved swords. Poise is still underwhelming even after the buff. Healing is very hard to punish in PvP, unless it is a miracle heal. Magic is the weakest in the series. Yeah, the game calls back to Dark Souls 1 far too much while almost ignoring Dark Souls 2.

Morrowind is probably my favorite, but it's so hard for me to play due to like 80% of the mods for it being extremely dated and broken.
