Frankly, it's overrated. It felt like a tentacle invading my mouth, and I responded with mine. It was mutually assured salivation. It feels much more disgusting when you have an idea of how gross human mouths are, too. I was also sick too, and I told them ahead of time. It didn't help.

There's a desert clime area close to where I live (relatively). It gets hot during the summer to the degree of melting shoes.
I want to take supplies and stay there for a month, and I want it to be hellish and difficult.

Well you couldn't be any more vague for the descriptions so this is just going off the op. That's intentional. If I try describing the problem in full from the outset it'll drive more people away or at worst lead to useless responses. I also get to sample understanding and curiosity of respondents with this approach. Convoluted and complicated>multiple one>one dependent on the other two Both the convoluted and dependent options are part of the multiple one. Focus all your time and effort on the complicated one, then once you can do the multiple one, depending on the nature of the remaining two projects you could possibly do the one that's dependent on the other two while you work one the second.
What I didn't mention in the OP is the complicated/convoluted one is conditioning research, the implementation of conditioning exercises is part of the other project I listed below that. I was planning on doing the one dependent on the other two (research on Hypnagogia), alongside development of the second (planning), as you've indicated. And I only have three weeks to condition new behaviors; I likely need more than two weeks of hard conditioning to achieve my results. Now what if I told you I wanted to create a snowball effect from the sequencing of these projects? That with the development of sequential skills I would expedite the process further? For example, one of the processes involved is speed reading to a certain degree, and that would decrease my reading done on other projects by 500%, the other being a way to attain prolonged states of intensive focus?

I'm embroiled in a few projects simultaneously currently. The primary project deals with researching multiple things, one only needs practice, one is very convoluted and complicated, taking much more time to cover because I'm uncertain what I need to know specifically to make it functional (but I have a specific goal in mind), and one is dependent on both research and experimentation (the research being nowhere as difficult as the former). This project devises methods to study future material.
The other projects involve planning something (which is relational to conditioning) and conditioning myself to carry out specific functions. Planning isn't as difficult as conditioning but consumes time, and conditioning requires the most time of all to research and implement.
I need time to test the curricular methods, in one discipline I have to do a lot of writing, reading in the other.
From writing this I'm getting some ideas, but I'd appreciate external ideas.
I have three weeks to complete all of these things. I'm confident I can do it if I plan out everything sensibly.
Keep in mind all of these things need to be completed, no parts left out!

If the trailer is rendered in-game I can certainly make comments about the art-style, considering that's what's behind the aesthetic of the areas being shown. I can't make meaningful comments about how the mechanics will function or if they'll be successful, however.
And I know this might not be the only type of area in the game, I'm just making comments from what I've seen.
