Good luck. Biggest flaw is the pacing issues. There are episodes that are just exposition with a two minute fight scene tacked on at the end that takes place in dimly lit rooms with cuts every 1.5 seconds. The camera work is pretty shitty at times, which is a shame because the fights at least seem well choreographed.

Well she said she liked me too back in high school, but we've been apart for so long. Oddly this didn't fill me with regret. In fact she told me that she hasn't wanted to go out with anyone since I left. I left suddenly out junior year, I never got to say goodbye. I've thought about her every day for years, but mostly she just seemed upset I didn't call her more often. I explained to her it hurt me, physically to call her because every time I talked to her it just got worse. Because I could only think about the time when I could see her every day. I'm glad I finally got my feelings off my chest, but she is still always on my mind.

Oh It absolutely stands on it's own feet.
In fact, I don't want to spoil anything, but the racial factors turn out not to be founded in any sort of negative attitude toward black people from white people, or vice versa.
There's stark imagery and incredible symbolism throughout.
It really is worthy of acclaim.

The ending doesn't matter, it was a satisfying end, whether we knew it would end that way all along or not.

It really was very good though, subtle symbolism, and a twist that laughs at you for trying to guess the plot.
