We lost a great Patriot and a lover of the american way last year.
Kiyo succumbed to terrible brain rot during the last days of his life.
Starting from birth, large tumors inside of Kiyo's head prevented him from having any cognisant function that was not devoted to how great the United States of America is.
Often, he would babble and ramble incoherently on the forums, until someone brought up America's greatness.

Kiyo loved above all else, the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for this country.
Our friend is gone, but not forgotten.

Let us commemorate Kiyo by posting some of his favourite things, liberty, warriors of freedom, the stars and stripes, and the american way.

So we have another Youtube button...?

Webm is like .gif.

But superior in every way, shape, and form.
Gifs are image files. These are videos, complete with a play/pause button and everything.

Just to be clear, Technicolor will soon provide options to get rid of the blinding green box, and perhaps even autoexpand .webm files.
Yeah, you didn't listen...

Putting the http in the URL makes the forum think it's a link and tries to put an anchor tag in. You have to leave it out.
I never listen.
It's my specialty.

Serious / Re: Why do people fetishize democracy?
« on: February 23, 2015, 07:23:21 AM »
That's what a federation is.

Technically, the USA is a Republican Federation, and the individual states send representatives democratically, according to guidelines on how those representatives should be selected.

In fact, the USA is nothing more than a meeting room in a tiny territory sliced out of Maryland.
People too often treat the states as though they were provinces.

Even the executive isn't really elected by popular demand, he's elected by representatives, who take suggestions from their constituency.

There's actually no law saying that these electors have to vote for who the people vote on.

There's nothing democratic about it.
Yes, but the point was that the US was not a democracy.

What kind of characters do you like? I'm genuinely curious.
Well, in all honesty there was one likeable character.

Watari.

That's it, really.

fucking horseshit

Boyhood should have won
At least it wasn't the Budapest Hotel.
that's true
It wasn't that bad a film.
I mean, the ending was awful and there was no reason for it, but that wasn't so bad.

The anime was brilliant for the first 12 episodes.
It tanked immediately after that and I dropped it at episode 14.
It was psychologically thrilling for a while, but the writers exhausted themselves, because they're not as bright as the characters they created.

This is the reason that most Sherlock Holmes adaptations tank.
Only Arthur Conan Doyle, was truly able to bring the character to life, because he was a genius himself.
I think Moffat comes close.

But in the case of Death Note, they simply could not keep up with the intellectual evolutions of their characters, and it went from shocking, to predictable.

And it doesn't help that they set up every character as an antagonist.

The whole anime is now worth it.

There are no likeable characters, and it really drags on, but this one pun has saved the anime.
Fucking Gooks
If it was unclear to anyone who hasn't seen the anime, Light is the name of the Main Character.
