ITT: I proved that the dress was blue and black on page one using science and noelle argued for two more pages until so much evidence was finally piled up that she just stopped posting instead of admitting she was wrong.

Nope the entire thing is blue with black trim
Nope.

Like I literally just said, the yellow at the top makes your theory impossible.
Sorry, but after submitting the image to electronic colour retrieval, I have verified using hexadecimal codes that it is blue and black.

its blue and black. OP is a bad picture.

Spoiler
If you stare at only the bottom portion, then you can kinda see blue and black, but the top portion makes it literally impossible for it to be blue and black. That is clear and obvious yellow at the top, and no matter how the light is shining on it, the fabric would not be that shade if it were anything other than yellow.
Nope sorry it's black.

The point is, unless you're dealing with solid colour tees you're paying for a bunch of unnecessary, and therefore unscalable things.

And I said it was overpriced myself, that was the point of the example.
The facts are:

-A $100 tee made of better materials and with better construction quality will be better quality than a $20 tee.
-Some people feel the higher quality of the tees are justifiable and buy them.

Whether or not you think it's worth it is purely subjective. I don't feel it is most of the time, and would only spend >$20 or so if I really loved the design of the shirt and I felt the quality was good. The point still remains that the shirts are STILL better quality, just maybe not justifiable to you price-wise.
You seem to have no concept of the value of a dollar.

I can get a tee that's just as good as any that costs $100, and only pay $20, and that's before discounts.

There are plenty of clothes that ascend in construction and material quality well beyond the hundred dollar range, but there's only so much that can be done with a tee shirt.
"I can get a tee that's just as good as any that costs $100"

This is subjective. The quality is objectively going to be better (depending of course where you get it from), but the value of the shirt is subjective and up to the person who is buying it.

"but there's only so much that can be done with a tee shirt."

Yes, but enough can be done to justify $100, not to mention the aesthetics of the shirt.

If we are going to start talking looks, this is a Rick Owens t shirt

Normal t shirts do not look like that, and they are made that way because Rick Owens is a talented designer and designs them that way. You cannot find a shirt like that at Walmart or the mall. The aesthetic justifies the price for some people as well.
No, I can buy a t-shirt that looks just like that one at any number of factory outlets.
Wrong

YouTube

I always love it when people use Michael Scott reactions, because I am Michael Scott, and this is game over.

You've never had any nice things, and you prbably never will, so you have no idea what you're talking about.
The quality of a t-shirt caps at $20, if you pay more you're getting ripped off.

But you'll find a $20 sweater is just as good as the $80 most of the time.
Wrong.
I feel like there's no such thing as a $500 t-shirt, and if there was it wouldn't be nicer than a $40 one.

Now, the difference between a $5 t-shirt and a $20 t-shirt would be evident, but once you get above $20, you're really paying too much.
http://uscheckout.apc.fr/browse.cfm/4,3379.html

120 dollars for a white shirt designed by Kanye West and APC. Close enough because it's just as retarded.

But no, the quality of a shirt caps bout $100 which you can get for $60 or less used.
Of a shirt, sure the quality caps around $100.
But of a t-shirt?

No, $25 is being lenient in saying that the quality is still going up.
Wrong. You don't know what you're  talking about.
Lol sounds like somebody ITT pays full price.
I have actually never bought a piece of designer clothing, but I like clothing a lot and I know the difference between a $20 shirt and a $100 one.
I only wear solid coloured tees, so I'm not paying for some obscure media reference, I'm paying for the quality of the shirt, and the value caps out around $20.

Example: Right now I'm wearing a $20 target brand shirt which is less quality than my $6 Arizona shirts, which are in turn lower quality than my $15 Gap shirts, which are equal in quality to the $35 shirts I got at Banana Republic.

Graphic tees my be skewing you perspective of pricing.
>graphic tees

where the fuck did you get that from? Not talking about graphic tees

And BR is overpriced so shit example
I didn't say I paid full price for any of it.

Hoooooooowwwwwww
There's a '71 Ford Classic truck for sale up the street from me.

Gorgeous paint job, only 17,000 miles.

The Ferrari in Ferris Beuller's day off only had 300 miles on it at the start of the film, or something crazy like that.

Do people really not comprehend that expensive clothes are usually made out of a nicer material?

That cashmere sweater might look like that polyester one from afar but that shit sure doesn't feel like it

But yeah certain brands are just stupid, j-crew and coach tend to be expensive as fuck for what they are and the clothes are just mediocre  cotton shirts
We're not talking about expensive materials, we're talking about brands.
turn your brain on, expensive brands tend to be made from nicer materials or just crafted better
Sure they do.

An $80 shirt is made out of gold and unicorn tears and not cotton where they're charging an extra $70 for the brand name.
you clearly lack basic reading comprehension skills. I literally said the exact same thing you just said in my first comment
Nope.

You're saying expensive clothing is all made of superior materials when it's blatantly untrue.
The majority of designer clothing is FAR better quality than what you will find in a mall. Now, that isn't to say that there is a huge difference between a $40 t shirt and a $500 one. There isn't a big enough difference to in any way justify the price for me. But keep in mind, construction quality is every bit as important as the fabric itself. You can use high quality shit, but if its made by some dude in China it will fall apart.
I feel like there's no such thing as a $500 t-shirt, and if there was it wouldn't be nicer than a $40 one.

I'm actually completely disgusted by this thread.

I shop almost exclusively at factory outlets.
I own $70 sweaters, $500 suits, $80 pairs of pants, all which I got for around 90% or more off.

I'm repulsed when I find out people actually pay department store prices, and even moreso when I find out that people bought cheap shit instead, and actually paid more than I did for my nice things.

Also pacsun is gross.
Even grosser than Armani Exchange.

You got ripped off.
Yeah I'm not understanding if he got a $500 suit for 90% off or if it was $500 at 90% off. I can believe a sweater or a shirt at 90% off but a $500 suit for $50 is bullshit. Unless the store was shutting down or something.
Yeah, at Jos. A Bank, Brooks Brothers, and others they sell off factory stockpiles of winter fashions just before spring.
Everything is 70% or more off, for a couple of weeks at the factory outlet.
