There was a guy invading my FOB, he was running upstairs, I hit him with a Grenade Launcher, as he was getting up I CQC'd him, knocked him out, picked him up and threw him off the side. I'll upload the video tomorrow.

Man, I need to do FOB stuff more, it's pretty fun.

So Venom doesn't find out the truth until the 90s when Big Boss sends him the tape?
Spoiler
I'd assume so, going by the Outer Heaven logo you can see reflected in the glass and the Operation Intrude tape

I'm not sure how I feel about Volgin surviving Operation Snake Eater, it seems like a huge stretch that he survived just out of his desire for revenge. But then Volgin's pretty cool in both games, so it's cool to see him again

No wonder they didn't get Hayter for The Phantom Pain. He sounds like he has throat cancer.
His young Solid Snake voice is 2 minutes in, he's also voicing Big Boss in that trailer which was a rushed thing within 5 minutes apparently

Konami really should license out the FOX engine.

TPP makes me want a new Red Dead so bad.
I can see fan games utilising that engine, recreating MG1/2. I know David Hayter said he would be willing to help recreate that game in HD.
I doubt a fan remake will happen, I've linked this before but Konami was behind this for a while until they mysteriously got it shutdown (which hopefully means they plan on doing it themselves)

Seems all this talk of masturbation killed the conversation.

Back on topic, would anyone have preferred it if Skull Face were somebody already seen in the series back for revenge, or did you like him as a brand new character?
I think was ok for what he was
Spoiler
plus we already have the Man on Fire as a character coming back for revenge

As much as I like tits and ass it's rather disturbing to get treated to an eyeful of Skull rack and booty. Bleh.

So I decided it's finally time for me to play MGS1, haven't played a ton into it, just finished the part where you meet Meryl.

Despite the aged gameplay I'm really enjoying it so far, I'm used to the controls already and the audio is fantastic.

I'm so upset that Mission 51 was cut, it would have provided such a good ending. But I'm also trying to avoid doing Mission 50, soooooo

It wouldn't have provided a "good" ending, but it would've been better than what we have.
Pretty much what I mean, plus it could have been a cool enough mission

I take it you've beaten the main story?
Yeah, every mission aside from 50, which I assume doesn't matter
Spoiler
because it's just a rehash basically

Spent like an hour trying to find the remains of a certain someone.

Didn't realize it was right there in the middle of the floor -_-
Don't worry, I did exactly the same thing. I was running around for ages to find him and then I was mad when he was in a fairly open place

The cutscene afterwards... I loved it.
It's one of my favourite cutscenes in the game, mainly because we got to see
Spoiler
Volgin without his Man on Fire appearance. While he's not the best villain, I still enjoyed him in MGS3, he fit the role nicely.

Ending spoiler
It's a shame he didn't get to encounter the actual Big Boss though, would have been nice to have a face to face with the man who defeated him instead of a body double
Awesome none the less

Hayter sounds fine here
YouTube

(Solid's voice at 2:04, he also voices Big Boss which is more gruff)

Also kinda upset that Konami shut this project down, I really hope that means they're planning on their own remake

so who were those two guys in the hospital in the beginning

one looked kinda like psycho mantis

was the other volgin?

Spoiler
Yes to both. The Man on Fire is Volgin's corpse resurrected by Kid Mantis.
thats fucking radical

Spoiler
Which raises the question of why Mantis wasn't that powerful in MGS. We see him make zombies, throw around a fifty-foot-tall mech, teleport around and pull all sorts of shit as a kid, so why was he weaker as an adult?

I mean, I know the answer is the fact that MGS is almost twenty years old, but I can't stop puzzling over this.

Don't worry. When Konami remakes the entire franchise with shiny and new graphics I'm sure they'll explain all this.
I actually hope they do this lol, Snake Eater in the FOX engine would be amazing. I just wonder whether Hayter would come back because he's not happy with the way he was treated with V
