But how did you not like that? I thought it made the relationship between the Pokemon and you more intimate.
it just gets annoying, and they did it stupidly
your lead pokemon is who ends up following you, but sometimes you'd rather have someone else follow you
or, of course, not at all
It's also shit when you walk over a hidden item as you can't just turn around and pick it up, you have to do some retarded maneuvering so you not talking to your pokemon. I also don't like that they had to scale the sprites to fit one tile.

Just to clear something up, do you mean a grown up Goten by future Goten? Because I'd totally agree since one of my hopes for Super was that it'd follow the end of DBZ and we'd have a grown up Goten and Trunks

This is easily my favourite game released so far this year. It feels fast, fluid and fum and I'm still not bored of the single player. I want to get into SnapMap a bit more as it looks like it had potential.
