I like imposing the challenge on myself sometimes, but especially with X and Y I knew I didn't like Slurpuff but loved Swirlix, so I was determined to use it and it ended up being quite the badass. Also didn't evolve my Pikachu and just had a light ball on it until the postgame.

Gen IV was the last to have uniformly good starters; I've liked about one starter from each gen since Gen V
Gen VII easily has my least favorite starters, but at least there's nothing as bad as Chesnaught this time.
I can't think of a more disappointing starter than the Chespin line. I knew from the second it was revealed that I wanted to use Chespin (which is the first time that had happened since I first played Emerald and chose Treecko) and then Quilladin was pure shit so I just kept Chespin as a Chespin until Level 35, and then Chesnaught just ended up being disappointing too. I'd probably stop past me evolving Chespin if I could, if I could go the game without evolving Swirlix, doing it with Chespin too would be fine.

Dead Space becoming action with Dead Space 3 was pretty fucked up, 1 and 2 had fantastic atmosphere's and were genuinely unsettling at points
