No. It all depends on the style of filming really. Whether one is filmed on set (Big Bang Theory) or on location (Modern Family) is the determining factor.
Filming on a set gives you the space for a live audience but laughter may still be edited in after a few takes since the crowd won't be giving the same response. Practically all sitcoms filmed on a set have audiences believe it or not.
Filming on location doesn't give you any room for an audience and a laugh track sounds ridiculously out of place regardless.

This site has its good days and bad days. It's way slower than b.net which is expected. We lack the horde of cringey 13 year olds and RP threads. However there's a lot of cringeworthy circlejerking and ego stroking that goes on here which is expected with a community this small. I think it's definitely fair to say we have a better web design than b.net though.
