WARNING THIS IS WHAT CHRISTIANS ACTUALLY BELIEVE
Let me tell you an actual story in the bible. There was a war between Israel and some other kind of sand people, so the Israeli general asked god to stop the time so he could rally his troops from the battle he was losing. So god stopped time and the Israelis killed the enemy while they were frozen in time.
Point is, among other countless examples, the actions of god portrayed in religious texts defy the laws of physics, and therefore cannot be true. The idea of any omnipotent or omniscient being is simply impossible. So to say that you cannot have 100% certainty that supernaturalism can't be real is bit of a rash claim, is it not? (sorry for triple negative in that last sentence)

For giving us the opportunity to print threads. No really, it's a great feature, seriously. I've always wanted to print threads and now we can.

The argument is that because people who do harder drugs (like cocaine and heroin) overwhelmingly have a history of consuming marijuana, that consuming marijuana leads to the increased likelihood of doing harder drugs. Others argue that it's a correlation-causation logical fallacy, they say that just because hard drug users consume marijuana, doesn't mean that marijuana users have any temptation to do harder drugs.
You could also make the argument for alcohol and cigarettes, which are both common among hard drug users, just as marijuana is. Does consuming alcohol and cigarettes increase one's temptation to do harder drugs? And if so, shouldn't they be illegal just as marijuana is?

I watched this TED Talk video a very long time ago that I've been thinking about. It was about a young boy who was very intelligent, but no one knew it because he was autistic and he wouldn't give clear answers to the teacher's questions. So the school put him in the special education class, and he ended up not being taught anything there. But what it did do is it forced him to think for himself and to teach himself things. Eventually the schooled wised up and realized that he was actually a mathematical genius, but he claims that if he weren't placed in the special education class where he stopped learning, he wouldn't be as intelligent as he is today.
The point is, learning to think for yourself and to create your own knowledge is a very valuable skill. But is our education system allowing children to do that? I honestly can't say for elementary school because I really don't remember what was going on in my head at that time, but I know that in college you're just bombarded with so much information and you're not usually taught the meaning behind it. If you're an intuitive learner, you have to rely on understanding the meaning behind concepts before you can really apply them to anything, and that's especially apparent in math.
Ehh I probably shouldn't spend too much time on this post because I only have a few hours left to study for this test, but I think you guys get the idea.

It's horribly biased to only teach one theory that hasn't even been proven yet. Until you can prove evolution, both creationism and evolution should be taught in public school.
Whether or not you think I'm being serious or not (I am) argue with me as if you believed I am serious.

Let's have a thread about our worst experiences with teachers and professors.

Inevitably this place is going to lose its activity, it's just a matter of when, and honestly I thought I'd be a lot sooner, but according to the stats, our most active days are our most recent. Still, we're eventually going to hit a climax and start losing the activity. I know you probably don't want to hear it but someone has to point it out. Want to place bets and how much longer this site will have activity for? I'm guessing it won't last longer than a year from when it started.

Listen faggots, the story was not about why you should say YOLO and do whatever you want because you're about to die, the story was about how you destroy the lives of all the people around you when you only consider yourself.

I so very often fantasize about bad guys trying to attack me or someone I have a crush on but they underestimate me and I end up beating them in a fight and I look really cool and badass while doing it.
I can't be the only one...

"It's okay we all have the same germs" (talking about one's family).
Obviously I was told this by some idiotic religious nut with no concept of even basic biology. I only believed it because I was too young to not be gullible.

I think it's generally established that it's better to get vaccinated than to not, but is it irrational to be concerned that you or your child might be the small percentage of people who become ill due to a vaccination?

Underage drinking as well as marijuana consumption is highly illegal. With that said, I've reported this page to the FBI. They will be here shortly to confirm my accusations of illegal criminality, and will promptly shut down this website. Think before you act, even on an internet forum.

Can you just ban him instead because he's received plenty of warning already. If I don't get warnings, he shouldn't either.
My two cents.
