The Flood / What would you do if your mom called your ISP...

...and asked for a list of websites that have been accessed through her IP?

How fucked would you be in this very realistic scenario? (unless you don't live with your mom, then kudos to you)

Not gonna disclose who they were, but they're all banned anyway so it doesn't matter anymore.

Serious / Another physics question -- Dimensions
« on: November 15, 2014, 01:21:30 PM »
Is it possible for 0-dimensional,1-dimensional, and 2-dimensional objects to exist? Obviously graphical representations don't count, I'm just asking about real-world things.

Also is time considered a fourth dimension? If you have time, it adds a whole other dimension of information you can include on a graph, does it not? (i.e. (x: 2, y: 4, z: 8, time: 400BC)). And if there is a fourth dimension, is there such thing as fifth dimension? What real-world form would that take?

Her newest photoshoot

Not even Nicki can compare

Such a pretty face tho

Big finale

To think there's a child out there who's going to grow up knowing that everyone has seen her mom naked is truly a scary thought.

Serious / Koko the gorilla has an IQ of 70-95
« on: November 15, 2014, 10:43:32 AM »
Her name is Koko (female western lowland gorilla, 43 years old), and she has been trained since birth to understand English spoken language and sign language. She understands 2000 English words and 1000 English signs and has been tested to have an IQ somewhere between 70 and 95.

Many psychologists (oh boy here we go) have claimed that she doesn't actually understand the meaning behind the signs and the words, she's just been conditioned to memorize the translations because she's rewarded when she gets it right, similar to the story about the horse that could do math. However, her trainor says that she does understand meaning because she's been documented creating new signs. For example, her trainer said that nobody taught Koko the word for "ring," but to refer to it, Koko combined the words "finger" and "bracelet," and came up with the sign "finger-bracelet".

Do you think there is actually a gorilla out there that is more intelligent than the average IQ in Pakistan or is Koko just conditioned to understand the translations and doesn't actually understand the meaning?

Serious / Physicists/engineers/mathy people, I have a physics question
« on: November 15, 2014, 09:54:19 AM »
A very long time ago when I was a fanboy, I was reading a Halo book and they were trying to figure out the best way to power the spartan suits, and one of the possibilities they came up with is beaming power. My question is if that's even possible, to beam power from one place to another (no wires, no atmosphere, just space). Obviously lasers exists, and lasers are just concentrated light, and light is energy, so in that sense it could work. But once Master Chief and the other spartans enter a building, there's no clear line of sight to receive laser power from a ship up in space (I believe the scientists in Halo didn't end up going with this method because they wouldn't be able to provide enough power that way). So here's the real question: Is it really possible to beam energy, through objects, to power a device?

The Flood / >Septagon logic
« on: November 06, 2014, 08:41:59 AM »
"I've never been trolled before. I'm way too smart to be trolled. I can always see through (internet) people and understand their real intentions. Everyone on the internet with a different opinion than I is just a troll. Odds are, I'm the smartest user here. Actually, I'm among the most intelligent people in the world (if not, the most the intelligent person in the world), it's just that I don't put any effort towards anything. I think if everyone just listened to my opinions, the world would be a better place. I'm at least a 7/10 would-fuck cutie pie. I hate Bungie because they did the same I would have done in their position."

Let's all add to the list of popular opinions of Septagon ITT.

Or at least limit and regulate democracy to the point where uneducated people (for example anyone who uses this forum) cannot make decisions that affect policy. Political ideology was invented because without it the uneducated people (us) would probably destroy the country. Just letting any random person decide how we manage a country with millions of people is simply the most idiotic and sure way to end that country. And so, the powers that be have invented ideologies to help group us into little categories that can be controlled so that the masses don't destroy the country. Of course, however, ideology dumbs everyone down, so if we instead remove democracy (and thus ideology) we can take away at least some of the stupidity.

What is your view on ideological politics and democracy? Good things or bad things?

First and foremost, the ability to track terror groups on the internet is pivotal if they want to do anything about terrorism. There really isn't any real reason why anyone should be against it unless they have something to hide. Pretty sure the government doesn't care what kind of weird porn you watch, save for something that involves abuse.

The only downside I can recognize is the cost of more government security programs. Beyond that, there's reason to bitch and cry about the government watching you while you're masterbating or whatever the fuck it is you're afraid of.

When setting your gender, if one is to set it to female, I think they should be put into automatic moderated mode, where a moderator will have to approve every one of their posts. This should allow us to retain hierarchic order and make sure women aren't speaking without permission.

Do you think this is a good idea or no?

Say your country gets invaded by a superior force, and knowing that there's no logical reason to assume that you'd be able to fight them back, would you still fight? In this hypothetical, you do not win and it is clear you do not even have a chance at winning.

Serious / I have an idea on how to find a unified theory
« on: November 04, 2014, 07:54:55 PM »
All we need to do is have a super computer come up with random sentences. It would select from a list of scientific words to help narrow things down and also it would be programmed with proper English to help further narrow down the possibilities. Eventually we would have a list of random scientifically sounding sentences that we could read over and that way we can find the Unified Theory.

Is this a good idea or what?

The Flood / I just disproved the universe
« on: November 04, 2014, 07:41:51 PM »
Everything has to happen on the timeline right? Well if time is only one dimensional (one dimension having no space for matter) then that must mean no matter exists, and thus the universe is disproven. Just because you subjectively think the universe is real doesn't mean it actually is.

Serious / Why don't people take Ancient Alien Theory seriously?
« on: November 04, 2014, 05:43:23 PM »
You can't possibly consider it natural that we made the huge jump from living in caves to living in cities in such a short period of time. Evolutionary speaking, it's just not possible for our brains to evolve that fast. I could go on and on with the extraordinary amount of evidence, but here's the bottom line: the only way to disprove Ancient Alien Theory is for aliens to come down and tell us they didn't interfere with our development.

What are your opinions on the issue of mainstream historians not taking Ancient Alien Theory seriously enough and what are your thoughts on the theory as a whole?

36 Things You Never Realized Everyone Else Does Too

1. On a road trip, you start to think of the other cars as your travel companions, and feel a tinge of sadness when you exit the highway.
That's literally the funniest thing I've read all week. Do people actually do this though? LOL.

Not gonna lie though, I do these too

5. When you take a shower, you make a bucket with your arms to catch as much water as you can and splash it all onto the shower floor.

24. You need to check behind the shower curtain every time you go in the bathroom.

32. You immediately forget someone’s name right after they’ve introduced themselves.

36. You feel sympathy for inanimate objects when they’re underused or discarded.
I only did #36 when I was younger.
