Don't really know many of the details as of yet, and actually I doubt I'll hear many more. All I know is what his friend told me, and he didn't really like me asking so I wasn't going to continue pressing him about it. What I've always figured was that his real life frustrations manifested his posting style and that's why he was always kind of... touchy. The reality is that he was a tortured soul. But he left his mark and I doubt he'll be lost in the memory of this site.

What reasons are there to have intellectual debates? Either you like to win arguments or you like to learn. But debating to win arguments is just stupid, because you never convince the other person anyway, at least 99% of the time. If that's your intent to debate, you ought to not post in Serious at all. Ideally, if you're debating then you're looking for interest and for knowledge. And if that's the case then why exactly would you let the legitimacy of the arguer stop you from learning? Who cares if they are just playing devil's advocate, does it really hurt to have a different point of view every once in a while? Are your opinions really that easily threatened that you need as few opposing views as possible? Where is the learning there? If we all agreed on everything this would be an utterly boring and pointless board.
Further, "bait" is completely irrelevant to accuse a post of. "Bait" essentially means that you're offended by the post. And as far as I can tell, most people here look down upon people who look to limit speech because they're feelings are hurt. You think an argument has broken logic? Point it out instead of getting mad. And the next time you see that argument you'll know exactly how to confront it. The point is: learn, don't bitch, cry, and whine over something you're easily capable of handling rationally.
My two cents^

Everyone is plugged into machines, these machines allow people to have their own dream world. Everyone is perfectly content in their machine worlds.

The teleporter will take apart your current form and reconstruct you somewhere in New Zealand. You are reconstructed perfectly, even down to the spin of each atom. The only thing different about you is that you are made of new atoms.
Do you step into the machine?

I was watching the Matrix a couple days ago and a line really stuck out to me. It was when the Oracle said to Neo that there would come a time when he would have to choose between saving his own life and saving Morpheus' life. She told Neo his future; factual knowledge. But later we find out that the Oracle didn't tell Neo his future, she told Neo what he needed to know in order to make the best out of their situation.
I'm thinking about these two mentalities and how they would fit on a religious issue: whether or not heaven exists. The scientist will know that there is no real evidence for it, save maybe for a few small possibilities, and he would disregard it as of having any significance. But an engineer would look at that problem differently. He's aware that there's a possibility, even if small, that heaven exists, but he instead thinks in terms of what he can achieve, what will make him happy. The engineer decides to take it on faith that heaven is real and because of that choice he lives a happier life. You have the pursuit of happiness on the one hand, and the pursuit of knowledge on the other.
What exactly is the benefit to having a scientist mentality over an engineer mentality?
And what mentality do you fit better into?

But seriously we have two other more professional wikis to be filling out. Apparently Wikia will respond in "two to three days" so you have until then to shitty SecondClass' wiki up. Please don't be mad. You can think of it like Anarchy actually. It lasts only for a few days to vent all your shitposting.

https://encyclopediadramatica.se/Sep7agonThis is mostly for SecondClass but if you're really honestly interested in writing up literature to get a rise out of people, you ought to write for this wiki. This was supposed to be a secret project a few users and I were working on but it's probably better if the entire community gets to work on it. Just keep in mind only one person can edit at a time and you cannot make subheadings about users. You can make fun of users by writing about a certain topic (e.g. Star Wars canon), but it's frowned upon by Encyclopedia Dramatica to give people attention like that. In order to edit you need to make an account and register it by email (meaning the email must be legit). There are no admins but that does not mean you get to write anything you want. This kind of literature is an art.

I mean stupid people think they're smart too. I mean what difference is there between them and you? How do you know you're not just a stupid person who thinks they're smart?
"I can do math"
"I can read"
You might think those are acceptable answers but they're actually not. How do you know those skills make you intelligent? Stupid people have skills too and they think those make them intelligent. So really, how do you know that you're actually smart beyond mere faith?

I mean what exactly stopped them from coming up with something original here? Why did they have to copy and paste old ship designs rather than coming up with something new and spectacular? In case you haven't realized, I am referring to the Covenant Supercarrier in Halo Reach.

inb4 population control
Okay we all know that isn't actually a legitimate argument, the mortality rate back tens of thousands of years ago was incredibly high. I mean, you guys know how arguing works, you'll make any kind of bullshit to defend your side of the argument.
But here's the main point: even if you can come up with a good explanation for how homosexuality may benefit the species, it's still considered negligible until proven. So come on kids, say it with me: homosexuality is unnatural, homosexuality is unnatural, homosexuality is unnatural...

The only reason I suck at trolling here is because you see my username and automatically assume anything I say to be bullshit. But people on 4chan will go for my bait about 40% of the time, you just have to know what kind of bait they like (anything about intelligence is a good one).

That the Lord of the Rings is supposed to be a prehistory to Earth? And that our modern day is 6000 years after the beginning of the fourth age (defeat of Sauron at the Black Gate)? Isn't that so cool guys?

This is gonna be a ramble, today isn't a good day for seriousness but I'm going to lose the idea if I don't write it down now.
And that's exactly my problem, I have too many open thoughts I don't know what to do with. I tried a few months ago to visualize this circular pie chart and have triangular sections with all my information sorted by categories. And as I zoomed in I saw more and more details (sort of like a prezi if you've ever used those before and know what I'm talking about) but the idea just wasn't sticking for whatever reason (whatever reason being I lacked the care and effort to make it work) so I fell back on this tangled knot of thoughts, which is really inconvenient for recalling information and orienting yourself. So does anyone know how to organize their thoughts? Or is that not even necessary for the way you guys think? I mean I honestly have no idea what it's like inside other people's brains. All I can really say is that I'm very practically minded.

Turn your attention to the chart below. Please tell me why it's better to live as an atheist and be right rather than to live as a Christian and be wrong?

Really bitch? You support it? Do you really believe you are making a noticeable difference in the political attitudes of society by expressing your non-expert opinions?
Just making the point here that it's not important in the least bit to keep in touch with politics and your vote doesn't make a difference even in close elections.
Violent, irrational users posting in this thread will be reported and ignored, you guys know who you are. If you have any intellectual arguments or points to bring up, please share them.
