I don't think so.

The conflicts aren't ending tommorow. Sure they'll end at some point, but another conflict will come, then another and another.
It's just how humans are.

It's fruitless while there's nothing to unite us. If there a greater threat, then yes. But it's pretty much impossible without a common goal.

That's true. But if that did happen, if we all did unite. Would you still want world peace to come?

Of course. But there's nothing that can unite us in such a manner. So it's pointless.

As an expert in traveling to America, here's a few good tips:

Always clap. Your plane lands, you clap. You go see a movie, you clap. The grocery store bag boy hands you your groceries, you clap. Waiter shows up with food, you clap. If you really want to fit in, you can loudly exclaim "bless you!" when you do. Simple stuff.

Tip everyone. Your cab driver, your waiters, your pilot on the plane crossing the atlantic (just put some in the little basket they hand around before landing) and even random people on the street. "Gratuity" is what they call it. No one really understands it or how much you're supposed to give, but you're a rude piece of shit if you don't so peer pressure keeps this alive.

"Football" is some strange activity where men hug in tights and padding for an average of 13 seconds before you get 5 minutes of commercials. It's pretty gay and you don't really use your feet nor play with a ball, but they still consider this a sport and call it football for some reason. Best to just roll with it and occasionally say things like "good catch, quarterbacker" and "wow what a play to the 3rd yard by the wide left receiver" to fit in.

Throwing rocks and other assorted objects at brown people or asians while yelling "this one is for 9/11" or "take that for Pearl Harbor you gook" is strongly encouraged, especially in the South.

Military adoration and respect for the flag is mandatory. If you see someone in uniform, you are obligated by law to thank them for their service and kiss their shoes. If you see an American flag (and trust me, you'll see hundreds because these people are crazy about their stars and stripes) you must recite the pledge of allegiance and raise your hand in the hitler salute which was traditionally used in American classrooms too. Some call it blatant indocrination, others patriotism.

Guns are a religion. You must carry at least 2 at all times and flaunt them as clearly as possible. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" is an actual law in some states and pertains to the trading of firearms. If you'd happen to turn 19 when you're over there, you must compete in the trials that make you a man in the eyes of the US goverment. As a foreigner I never found out the exact requirements, but school shootings and something with a bald eagle are a part of it.

Oh and get laid a lot with women loving your British accent. People definitely liked mine, so they should enjoy yours too.

To answer your tip issue, as a pure bred american.

Always tip between 15%-20% of the bill, especially on waiters, since most jobs like that aren't amazing at money making, it's common courtesy.

« on: September 19, 2015, 10:11:45 AM »
Really it boils down to: whoever called the police shouldn't have done, but the kid was an idiot for bringing it into school in the first place.

You can't really blame the kid for wanting to show off his creation,  he probably should have checked with the principle or teacher first but you can't blame a 14 year old child being proud of his creation.

I have a copy of Destiny for 360 sitting in my cabinet, collecting dust. And will stay that way until I can say that there is enough content to be worth the $120 you have to pay.

Want proof? You can check my B.net account, A Fox and see the last game I played.

*gets in agnostic chair*

*grabs popcorn*
I said this once already before, but you cannot both believe and not believe at the same time, see the law of the excluded middle.

Agnostic/Gnostic are both stances on knowledge. Theist/Atheist are stances on faith.
If you believe in God but state that you cannot know of his existence, you're an agnostic theist.
If you do not believe in God but state that you cannot know if he doesn't exist, you're an agnostic atheist.
If you believe and claim to know God exists, you're an gnostic theist.
If you do not believe and claim to know God does not exist, you're an gnostic atheist.

If you are calling yourself an pure agnostic, you're an implicit atheist. See here the definition for implicit and explicit atheists.

Quote
"Implicit atheism" is defined as "the absence of theistic belief without a conscious rejection of it", while "explicit atheism" is "the absence of theistic belief due to a conscious rejection of it"

tldr version, stop being a pussy about your beliefs/lack of beliefs

Seriously, all I said was Agnostic

I don't believe in god, I know that I can't prove he isn't real, and I can't prove he is. I don't know.

As such, i'm agnostic. So leave me alone okay?

Gaming / Re: Define "RPG" in your own words
« on: September 18, 2015, 01:01:33 PM »
I believe RPG stands for

Rocket Propelled Grenade.

Me beig sarcastic aside, this is what makes an RPG an RPG for me.

-A developing story that can change dramatically based on your choices.
-More focus on the story, lore and characters. An immersive world.
-Free will to do whatever you wish.
-(optional)Customizable characters with interesting preset backrounds to choose from.
