I think if you don't care, that's fine.

However if you do support them, support those who already switched and are happy. While trying to help figure out the issue with people who are not.

Seriously?!
SPOILERS FOR Valiant Hearts AND Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons AHEAD.

I just finished Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Great puzzle game with a lot of historical bits worth reading. However the ending man...WHY?! It fits the whole theme that came with World War 1 but...gawd damnit, RIP Emile.

I also played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons awhile back too, another great game. With some interesting puzzles and beautiful scenery, and again...the stupid older brother had to get a boner for the spider lady and get killed right at the FRIGGIN END. Leaving the young boy to travel all the way back...

GAAAAAWD DAMN THE FEELS!!!!

Before you came up with the idea of making this a (video)game; were you roleplaying in that world similar to DnD or something like that?

Oh no, it's a whole different world than DnD.

But I have done DnD before

I don't know exactly what kind of turn based action i'll be doing, but I wanna try for a Lethal/Non Lethal style that would affect the game...
But if that's too difficult i'm just gonna scrap it and do simple.

EDIT: Oh and I never said "Open World" but I may try for a semi-open.
Understandable. Still, I wouldn't want to let Undertale influence you too much in terms of combat if you have a story to tell. That is, if you're going for a more serious tone.

Undertale is more of the reason why i'm using Game Maker.
I definitely want to do a serious style for the world, as a silly Earthbound style wouldn't work. Combat is another thing that will need to be addressed. My ideas are
1: PoE style
2: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon style
3: Undertale style

I'll do whatever the fuck I want
And Game Maker is easier for a newcomer like me. I have limited funds, limited time and limited knowledge.

Unity is free, has tons of documentation and tutorials, more freedom, and has the potential to not look like a cookie-cutter game made by a 12 year old.

I'll do whatever the fuck I want

Eww, GameMaker.  At least learn Unity.

I'll do whatever the fuck I want
And Game Maker is easier for a newcomer like me. I have limited funds, limited time and limited knowledge.

When I heard open world and turn base, my mind went to things like Fallout and Pillars of Eternity with the Isometric gameplay. PoE also has the fantasy setting. But if Undertale is the route you wanna go, by all means.

Okay...so Game Maker is not extremely difficult to work with, but with a large project like this I am gonna have my work cut out for me.

So...anything you guys want to know? I'll be willing to give some details now.

I'd still like to know more about this fantasy world.

Any ideas on the gameplay, how it's done?

Recently been interested in Undertale, so i'm gonna try to do a top down perspective, where you can explore and do all of that. Battle wise i'm still thinking about it, it would be turn based however I couldn't do any of the pacifist stuff Undertale does. I could do Non-Lethal combat however.

I don't want to give anything away yet until I know I am going to work on this game >.>

So, as many of you know I am a roleplayer, I very much enjoy roleplaying. And because of roleplaying I have an idea for a new game.

So, a friend of mine once created a huge world for the group of ours to roleplay in, it was pretty amazing how detailed it was. However lately that world has been...pretty unactive, as nobody had played with the world in a long time. I wanted to rekindle what was lost.
At first I wanted to write a book, a story in the world. However as I thought about it more ideas kept coming to me, Movies, TV shows and video games would also work very well for the world.
I finally thought it a great idea for the world to be in an actual video game, I thought about a 3D adventure game but I am not very experienced and a game like that would be butchered, so I decided that the game would be great on a 2D top down perspective, with turn based fighting.

This wouldn't be an easy task to do, and of course I would ask permission from my friend to be able to use the world, however the more I thought about it the more I liked it. I don't want to give too many details but if I decide to try it out and make a game, would you guys want to be updated on it, help out, give ideas, and most of all be interested in it?
