It's this indie side scrolling game on Steam

Not all indies are bad Verb. Some are pretty good.
I got the game on sale anyways.

It's this indie side scrolling game on Steam that's actually a lot of fun.

You play as this random guy playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, and when you take a break to go to the bathroom you are "drugged" and end up in this mysterious castle, which is where the game progresses.

A silly story, but gameplay wise it's pretty fun, I haven't played too much but going in The Mines dodging boulders is a heck of a lot of fun. Haven't gotten to any boss fights yet.

I had to sell everything in my Steam Inventory to get enough to buy this, and it was so worth it

Damn

I don't have a lot of steam inventory, and none of it is worth crap.

4534
If you want to be convinced not to do something, you probably don't want to do it in the first place.

4535
You're torrenting it?

Eeeh, I wouldn't say I agree with doing that...

However, fuck flowey

A lot of people would disagree with you on that.
I suggest not saying that on b.net.

Any that make good games that I want to play.

Which devs usually fulfill that?

As a counterpart to the negative shit list thread, let's go positive and talk about the good devs.
Which are worth looking at? Or at least lesser evils.

Platinum has made one of the most misogynistic games of all time
Bayonetta with a strong female lead and side character that pretty much kicks ass all over is misogynistic because she's sexy. Yeah, some feminists will use the sexyness as reward card in this case, disregarding that it's overall a fun game with good characters, and then painting it as misogynistic.
The reason she's "sexy" is because they know who they're pandering to. That's why it's misogynistic. If the gaming community wasn't already dominated by males, and it wasn't obvious pandering, it wouldn't be misogynistic. But no--they're taking advantage of the fact that a lot of pubescent males like women, so they'll sexualize her to hell. Deplorable.

I always saw Bayonetta as the female Dante

Was I wrong to think that? I mean Dante is over sexualixed but definitely doesn't do some of the stuff Bayonetta does.

and honestly if you really wanted us to not use the word game maybe you should have posted this in a board other than gaming.

No, you went ahead and called them "interactive tv shows".
I could care less if you call them a game, but specifically pointing that out can cause a shitstorm.

more like interactive tv shows than anything else. i tend to have a negative view of them because i like playing games to challenge myself and learn/employ new, creative strategies to succeed. choose your own adventure stories dont really do that for me.

when done right, a choose your own adventure "game" can be very good. wolf among us would be my example.

I just said that I don't want people starting to name the genre in any place, because that just starts a whole debate.

Why am I trying to reason with you people again?

Also, those graphics. My God.

That's not a gameplay trailer, so you're not seeing anything representing how the game will look.
The first trailers for Heavy Rain and Beyond look like the games too basically. It's in-engine. That's the whole point lol. He likes to show off his graphics. Why would they show a CGI trailer?

Because CGI looks better, and that's obviously not in-engine.

It clearly reads at the end "Captured in-game engine"
Cause devs never lie right?

They legally can't.

Now, whether the game will remain of that quality by the time it's released is another matter.

This, that is counted as False Advertising if they lied about it.

However it can still go Watch Dogs on us.

THIS IS NOT TO DEBATE WHETHER THESE TYPES OF ENTERTAINMENT ARE GAMES OR NOT. I'm using the term Entertainment to avoid that, but I will refrain from saying interactive movie or video game, even if I do see them as games and is in the Gaming section.

So, creations like Heavy Rain, The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, Telltales' Game of Thrones, Until Dawn, etc.
What is your opinion of them as ENTERTAINMENT?

I live in a small US Neighborhood that counts itself as a "Village"
The Police Department is a friggin small shack
We have to rent the police services of the next town over, and the two neighboring ems stations cover our town for ambulance stuff.
At least we have our own volunteer fire company...

Oh we get cops from a nearby town too, just a couple from our village actually do their job.

I had a cop come by the house from a neighboring town, only here to deal with some delinquent kids.
