Gaming / Re: Titanfall 2 is gonna have a single player campaign
« on: February 09, 2016, 12:52:45 AM »
Original article

Tl;Dr -

-It will be multi-plat (Playstation included this time)
-Single Player Campaign is in the works
-There is the possibility of a TV series
-They're about a year in development and expect the game to ship april next year-ish

Gotta admit, the inclusion of single player excites me. Titanfall's world is one that interests me, moreso now Halo has turned into space fantasy, whereas Titanfall feels a lot more grounded and gritty. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the sequel.

This is how we know the game's gonna blow.

DS3 will have 12 instead of 6.

Na. It'll do what Scholar of the first sin did.

Mini-boss buttfuck time as normal enemies who gank you in unsuspecting places.

And there'll be 12 of them.
I don't mind the moni-boss to normal boss thing. DS1 did the same thing.

I was used to Drangleic castle being filled with elephants and syans.

Not a random fucking two headed fire breathing horse that couldn't fit through any of the fucking doors there.

So what's the current unit look like?

Also LC you are basically selling this game to me

I'll take a screenshot of the roster next time I'm on.

It's also important to note that I am writing fluff into this to make it more interesting to read for you guys. Personally I feel like having me type out that I made A B and C unit do X Y and Z is a lot less interesting than writing it out as if each one of you have your own agency.

This game is a turn based tactical RPG that can be downright unforgiving and we're starting to reach the point where Sep7 people are going to be kicking the bucket.

This is really the only reason most people signed their names up for doing your dirty work LC.

We wanna eat popcorn and watch the fireworks. And then congratulate the survivors.

I'm barely getting everyone out alive right now. The last mission I did (which I still need to write up) had one rookie die and everyone except for Azure come out gravely wounded.

Damn fucking right son.

Sep7agon would cost the government millions if not billions of dollars to be compotent at anything.

This is sounding more and more like an elaborate Hunger Games thread.

Only difference is killing each other will be "an accident, I panicked and fragged my CO ", or a "there was no other choice, he got mind controlled! You all saw it!"

"He was interloping with the viper xeno scum! You all know what happens to heretics!"

Why exactly do people need to feel validated?

Are they so insecure that they need someone else to tell them how great they are?

Sometimes it's to get people off your back. At least for me it is.

I've got fucking people everywhere breathing down my neck about shit like that and the only time I flipped on the kill switch to give them a retort salvo back, it ended poorly. I can't go anywhere with somebody in my town who knows me making a god damn comment about the fact I'm on my own with no partner of any kind.

Well, I used a random probability calculator online and apparently the chances of you both failing and succeeding the test at the same time are higher than any other outcome.

It's 28 DMR shots on a Warthog's weak spot to destroy.  37 anywhere else.  Weak spots are pretty negligible, considering they're tiny ass targets on fast moving vehicles, with zero aim assist applied.

Then consider that based off the current BTB maps, DMRs are treated as mid-tier power weapons, not starting weapons.

Then consider how BTB randoms are too stupid to understand the logic behind shooting a vehicle with anything other than a power weapon.

Actually not really. People, no matter how sub-rock tier intelligence they have, have caught on that vehicles are still made of napkins. And think about it. BR's, SMG's, and AR's still do pretty decent damage to vehicles. The DMR is king of the damage and therefore always considered first.

But think about it. 37 DMR shots to take out a warthog? With the addition of only one teammate with half a brain that slims down to only 18-19 shots required.

In every match, there's usually two to four teammates who top the leaderboards. These people are usually semi-compotent and reasonably intelligent, and know how to focus on priority targets on the enemy team. With four people shooting a hog all it takes is 9 shots on one person's part.

And we haven't even gotten to kinetic bolts either. That's just a run of the mill DMR. Ususally everybody and their mother carries kinetic bolt weapons on them these days.

Also, do you know the monkey see monkey do effect? It especially works well in Halo when you break a map or something or do some glitch and another player sees you. In minutes they'll all be trying.

The same applies to shooting a vehicle.

In some magically ideal scenario it'd be cool if you could just enforce the borders of the east. Shut all traffic down and box the entire area in. A little bit like what south korea does. Rather than throw all the troops away into the heart of the mess, keep them on a line on the outskirts of the mess.

Let the shit sort itself out. Of course, people immediatly scream "muh oil."

Nah, it'd be more likely to be  "muh only western-equivalent-civilised ME state ally" Israel. Can't really build a wall around the area if it just so happens an ally is slap-bang in the middle and has neighbours from hell.

You know what I like to do when I'm surrounded by shit neighbors?

A) Kill the neighbors
B) Move elsewhere

Isreal should just move somewhere else. Maybe blow themselves off the main chunk of rock and airlift themselves into the ocean to make a fantastic new island.

The Flood / Re: What's been the biggest struggle of your life?
« on: February 08, 2016, 01:32:09 PM »
I could list what I think would be large struggles. No doubt, they were. Miscellaneous diseases and bodily issues. Even what I'm dealing with right now is starting to get to me. Less oxygen in my blood means everything takes a little bit more effort. Blood cells not reproducing properly means I'm brusing and bleeding easily and it's not healing. It's taxing.

But it's just physical. I'm used to bumps and scrapes when it comes to physical. I've got a body that's A okay with working. Once I get moving, I don't feel it anymore. No aches, no pains, no bothers.

But the biggest one, and always has been, what's in my head. The point of bothering to try and continue on when I have almost, almost nothing to go on for, really. It's been there so long, I've been coasting so long in this state that it's worked itself so deep.

No matter how much effort I put in to trying, I don't see it. It never seems to click. I can't seem to find that light at the end of the tunnel. And it's been so long without it that I don't really see the point of looking for it. I try anyway. Maybe I'll stumble on it through being stubborn about it.

The worst about it though, is that it's not an outside influence. It's not some force or random act. It's just little old me, plain and simple.

The neat thing is, before the rise of crude oil, in the early 19th century before and as the industrial revolution began, we used different sources for oil in machinery. The only reason we use crude oil today is because of it's ease of use and access. Doesn't mean we can't use the older forms of oil, even if they're slightly harder to produce.
We can't really go back to the industrialized hunting of whales.

I was referring to miscellaneous plant oils.

Whales were just another example of "it's easier than what we've currently got so we'll take it despite all the downsides."

Dark Souls is a fitting sort of series for bleak endings, and this game really seems to set the tone that everything is finished, barely hanging on, and you're the arbiter of finally ending it all.

Arbiter is a Halo character you fucking imbecile.

Okay.

It still seems like you're the arbiter of judgement in dark souls III, though.

Glad to see they're taking some good bits of lore from Dark Souls 2 (there were some, believe it or not).

it's the giant who looks like the Giant Lord/Last Giant from DS2.

That's something I like about three so far. All the old bosses having their various souls become recurring things in each cycle.

That could work, but then again I haven't played Halo 5 yet so I don't know how the DMR actually is in that game.

I'm just going off of my Hemorrhage experience from Reach.
tbh it has less ammo and does less damage to vehicles from what I recall. Azumarill probably knows the exact number of shots it takes to kill each vehicle.

Na. DMR is full powered up vehicle rape machine. Adding kinetic bolts to one is just.......no.

Aside from the smoke effects on the map, that valhalla remake is pretty nice. I'd prefer blood gulch though. Or anything else, really, that has enough space to actually drive a vehicle. It seems like 343 have a really adverse fear of big open spaces as I can't think of a single map by them where you could drive a 'hog at full speed without crashing into something.
A wide open map like Blood Gulch wouldn't be fun to play on because of the DMR's ridiculous range and damage it does to vehicles.

It'd be worth it to use a tank and be able to see where your attackers are coming from.

The more I play this game the more I realize that the more clutter there is, the better it is for driving vehicles because you can block lines of sight. I made the mistake of using a banshee ultra on apex 7. Melted in seconds before I could even reach a base. There's way too much airspace and open spots.

Honestly, the best map for any kind of vehicle combat is Escape from ARC. It's got the wide tracts with bits of cover, but enough close space for high jacking to still work. Every other warzone map is just shit for vehicles.

I really like that the game seems to be implying that this is the end.

Dark Souls II B team wrote themselves into sequalitis syndrome with their whole cycle deal, but hopefully, if this game is about the cycle being broken, then I'm glad Myazaki chose to make it that way. Dark Souls is a fitting sort of series for bleak endings, and this game really seems to set the tone that everything is finished, barely hanging on, and you're the arbiter of finally ending it all.

I like the souls series, but I don't want it to become a sequalitis series. This game could throw me any bleak, final ending, and I'd be A okay with it. Plus, its good for From because it leaves them with more room for creativity or to make other souls-ish spiritual successors, which I'm fine with.

My body is reggae.

I do what I normally did in GTA.

Piss people off in my shit coloured crop duster by clipping their helicopter blades, kamikazeing people with a plane strapped full of remote charges.

And driving my type z at mach five into players and then charging them express amounts of insurance money when they inevitably rage and shoot me down.
