The Flood / Re: So about Deadpool

Haven't been out to see a movie in theatres for years. Probably a decade, I think.

A lot. There's a place in my area that recycles inustrial waste from wood mills. The whole place is run by folks like that, except for the core staff, which are the people responsible for watching over everybody.

In my personal experience, honestly, I like them better than normal people. I know that the staff who work that mill are people with lesser degrees of the disease, and of course, people with higher forms of it are harder to work with. And I mean, anybody with it is hard to work with, I guess.

But they're genuinely nice people. They're actually innocent.

I roll up there and if they see me they wave every time. And they're happy about it. And that's what makes them innocent. It's not that they're dumb. But they're simplistic. They have the full range of human emotions and instincts, but due to the way their head is wired, it's all very..... simple.

There was another fellow I met on one of my appointments in the hospital not too long ago. Could tell he had something. But he loved movies. And he loved talking about movies. And it was something refreshing to me, to see somebody so happy. I mean, this guy, seriously loved movies.

What's sad to me though, is that a lot of them had hard times. The ones at the mill in my area, some of them, had really hard times. They're often mistreated poorly by people. As I've heard some stories told to me by the manager of that mill, who is also a really damn good person.

I make a note to myself. I try to treat those folks with the utmost respect and care when I meet them.

Heh. Day really caught up with me just now. Haven't been this tired in a long time. Ready for to sleep. Bon voyage.

I reccommend you try the after school snakc just for fun even though you're a big kid. Those old snacks were the best.

Now, that seems worded a little too demanding, as if you leashed up the poor scientist and crack a whip every now and then and go "mush!"
Well, I'm just saying. You have to be incredibly passionate about your field of work in order to be a scientist, I would imagine. In order to be a scientist, there has to be something inside of you that compels you to be one, because it's not easy, and in a lot of ways, it doesn't seem very fun. You really have to want to do that sort of work.

So, I don't think I'd have to start cracking whips--but when people start prioritizing their Maseratis (or whatever the fuck stupid shit they buy) over the unearthing the secrets of reality, it's sort of disheartening. It pisses me off, and it's hard for me to sympathize with that mentality.

I love all the doctors out there who are doctors just because the pay is good.

As far as wanting shit "in return" for their work, that's what I was attacking. As a scientist, you work for the good of mankind.

THAT'S your compensation.

Now, that seems worded a little too demanding, as if you leashed up the poor scientist and crack a whip every now and then and go "mush!"

But it is preferable if said scientist of whatever caliber does it for the sake of reaching an end goal that'll help people.

Well, they're all characters that have their various morals taken to their extreme upper limits, basically.

They're understandable in that they're all very real reflections of morals. But unrelatable to me since there isn't a single aspect I could list to myself that stretches that far out when compared to theirs.

0.97 the last time I checked.

What has me curious though, is where exactly did this particular trend start? Or when? Or, probably the most important, why? Over the years I'd only ever heard of bits and pieces of feminism and seen just about as much, and then suddenly, over the last few years, say, five or so, this new wave/generation shit just started spilling out in pages just about wherever it could.

Not to say that the original feminist movement isn't still around or doing it's thing, but the new gen, splinter group of tumblr fuckheads are pretty god damn noisy in comparison, which really doesn't help the original movement whatsoever.

The Flood / Re: Stephen King
« on: February 20, 2016, 09:41:07 AM »
Despite the massive amount of old sci-fi books I read as a kid, for some particular reason I never really got into King's writing despite enjoying te genre. I remember reading Misery, but that's about it.

Then again King's got a bit of a pension for horror. Not something you'd really find at a school library unless you were older.

716
No shit, if there was a paid profession with working hours and scheduled pay, and it involved going to the houses of the people who legitimately believe this shit, and creatively murdering them with whatever was in reach of your hand, I'd consider signing up.

It's one thing when this crap is on the internet, but at the rate that I've heard thinly veiled shit like this spouted on radio talk shows and the like is alarming to me.

717
I really. Really. Do not enjoy that ease of distribution of which dumb ideas perpetrated by dumb people are allowed to spread in the age of the internet.  And that the younger generations only have half a functioning brain of which they gobble this fucking shit up.

Granted, the fools that trawl tumblr and facebook and whatever else are supposedly a minority. Although I doubt it to a degree since people lacking basic logic greatly outnumber those who don't.

Most insulting of all is that this garbage is spouted by first world youths and 30-something rejects who have access to the internet, and all the comfortable perks that first world status brings. And it's legitimately seeping into real world outlets.

This is the kind of shit that makes me want to beat somebody to death with a shovel.

But instead, I'm just going to point out something I always laugh about.

"White people."

The term is thrown around all the time as a terribly funny generalization that's actually ironic as fuck. Think about it. "White people." Which fucking white people?

White Canadians? White Americans? Those guys who are the colour white in Italy? Those guys who are the colour white in Japan? What the fuck even constitutes as a white person? Because I sure as fuck know if you asked that question to one of those bullshit spouting mongoloids, they'd say that a white japanese guy isn't white. He's Japanese.

I don't even know how they can manage mental gymnastics of that fucking caliber. They treat skin pigment as if it's an entire race but then when shown somebody who's white in any other country they'll more than likely deflect the statement by stating the person's ethnicity instead.

Ridiculous.

I can't really say. But I live with somebody who's gone through it. And it's something you carry with you for the rest of your life. Some people can learn to move on if they get the right help and care.

The person I'm trying to take care of didn't.

She'd legitimately have a really nice face if she lost about 150 pounds.

Kinda weird, actually. A lot of people who've put on excess weight usually seem capable of having really good looking faces if only the rolls and sag have dissappeared.
