What use is it if it changes in accordance with your actions?
Let's say you want to test it so you're gunna shoot yourself.
If it recognizes that you are poised to shoot yourself and adjusts itself to less than a few minutes, but didn't already have it set to such a short time before, then it failed to account for how you would naturally react to it (wanting to test it).
The timer could reflect the pure chance that the gun goes off pointed at your head by accident. Say you stood in the middle of a road, if you watched the timer and waited for it to count down, the end result is some distracted or drunk driver plows into you. Or you got on a 3 hour plane flight and your timer dropped to 2 hours... uh oh.
I dunno what I'd do, I don't think I'd look at it tbh. Ducktape the watchface, leave it in my cupboard, and be one of the "edgy" dudes who doesn't know when they'll die.
You'd get plenty of reactions similar to Futurama's Deathclock

Passion is the catalyst of progress.
Well I can't really say the guys building the pyramids had a fun time. Passion's been important to singular individuals who happened to have progressed us forwards but as a whole to say that it was passion that enabled us to come this far is a poor statement. Take the railroads for instance. I'm sure the guy who thought them up was giddy about it. But the guys on the ground? Not so much. And yet it was their labor that truly enabled the idea to take shape.

Mind if I tell a story here? This relates to the other post I made, about how stuff we do isn't always hunky dory. A few years back, I signed on as an aid to a contractor. His specific job was frame work. Now, he liked building structures. So he made that his job. But, he also made himself self employed. The magic words there. He set the funds. He set the time he worked, and how much he worked. And he was great to work with because he paid hired hands under the table money. No shit paperwork. And he didn't rush. He specificially told me to take my time. Keep up a decent pace, but not rush. I've worked miscellaneous jobs all over. Some official, some not. And this guy was the best to work with. Mainly because he was self employed. But of course, like I said, things aren't always hunky dory. Building a structure isn't easy. And some days you'll hit a snag. Or you'll be tired. And you just won't really feel up to it. Or the weather says fuck you. But let me tell you, the fact that this guy was so easy going, and the fact that I wasn't under an official contract with him, and that his hours made sense from a sanity perspective, made the toughest days I had with him, arguably tougher than other days on official jobs I worked, easy going. And the guy loved his work. He took pictures of his in progress work and after he was all done. He was happy when he pulled something off like planned. But, like I said, up and down days too. Work is work. But you can get enjoyment out of it. I know I did. And I wasn't even the builder. Just the heavy lifter and butler of the work sites.

Not quite. It depends on what you do. Work, these days, is primarily so un-enjoyable because it takes up so much time of your life. Think about it. Imagine any shitty job out there that you don't enjoy doing. Now let's say that rather than go for an eight hour shift, or a twelve hour, you only have to put in four hours. Sounds like you could wake up every day and do that slightly more enthusiastically, no? The problem itself with work isn't that it's work. Because we always have something to do that we don't really put our hearts into. You don't feel like washing the dishes. But if you leave them there the pile will get bigger and eventually you'll run out of plates. No, the problem with work in our society is that it takes up too much time of your life. One hour of dishes? Sure. Four? Bit of a stretch, but still doable. But ten? Or twelve? Imagine that. There are actually people out there who spend their entire waking day washing dishes. That's one problem. The other, of course, is that society doesn't like it when you don't want to take part in it's bullshit. So it makes it extremely difficult to escape that system and pursue alternatives. It doesn't teach you other ways. And so all you're left with is tunnel vision, peering at that one and only terrible system. Work doesn't have to be unpleasant though. Truly, the best form of work you could ever strive to do is self employed work. You make the time, you call the shots. But, sadly, you have to have the initiative, intelligence, and drive to pull it off. Many lack some of those traits. And so they get caught in the trap.

If Bethesda, one of the locations mentioned in Fallout 3 would be welcome - Broken Banks, 'Ronto and the Erie Stretch. Ronto, presumably Toronto, would be interesting as we'd be able to see how the annexation of canada affected the region. Outside of those, New York.
For Obsidian, either SLC and that region, something in Legion Territory or something that follows up on the MWBoS would be welcome. You could even combine those last two, as there is some overlap and evidnece to support Legion and the Brotherhood meeting.
As for a general location, Anchorage would be interesting. Yao Guai polar bears would be cool, and the idea lf some chinese military remnant having kept at war with the americans even after the bombs and even ghoulification would be a nice way to change up the scenery and provide lots of juicy lore. It could keep stuff like The Power Armour Faction being a thing without needing another Brotherhood or Enclave chapter.
I want enviromental hazards. Put hardcore mode on up in alaska. Power armour has a time limit before it's joints begin to freeze or that it's weight slows you down in deep snow.
Just make it inhumanly cold up there so that it's a true wasteland of snow and ice.
Given how water seemingly retains radiation in the Fallout universe, the rad levels would be insane in an arctic wasteland.
Gimme that toxic snowfall.

We must be playing a different game.
I've legitimately killed scorpions with DMR fire. I can melt a standard banshee in seconds. Wraiths are too easy since the weak points are on the front of it. Warthogs except for ONI's are jokes.
Does it still count if I found them on the ground because tfw no DMR cert, and they don't have kinetic bolts? Also most of the enemies I've come up against have been competent enough to force me into cover/drive out of range without me killing them. I still have played less than 20 games tho.
DMR don't even need kinetics to do ridiculous damage. Kinetics is just the additional unholy thumbs up from your pact with satan bestowing you more devilish powers. Of course you're not gonna get really good shots on a vehicle if it's focused on you. But then again, I play the game differently. You know how on some maps, you'll run off into a quiet part of the map or take the long way around to see if you can flank the enemy team, and then you get killed by that one guy from out of nowhere? Well, I'm that guy. I sneak and I snipe.
