Lol, the amount of near-misses I've had due to stupid drivers have been insane. I even saw a fucking jeep on its roof in ditch. And that doesn't give you pause? That doesn't make you wish you could go back in time and shoot the motherfucker who invented the automobile in the fucking head before he has a chance to invent it or whatever?
i mean, yeah, i know that cars are important, because they facilitate basically everything in society now, but like
i'm just saying
Rather than shoot the fellow who invented the automobile, I'd shoot the people who pass these fucking retards and let them onto the road. Vehicles are merely tools. They don't wake up one morning and decide that it's time to go for a Sunday Driver medal.
And neither do most drivers. But their retarded manner of driving is the issue.
They get passed because they abide by the rules when they're learning. Once they've passed they don't give a shit.
You can't weed these people out.
Oh really? Then how come you can make that statement that those people exist? You can't weed those people out when they're under the pretense of putting up a good show. It's always like that Lemon. Best way to look at somebody to find out who they really are is when they're alone. I'm sure it'd be pretty easy to monitor such activities. You've got cameras all over the place these days. Electronics in vehicles themselves. Hell, take a ghost car and just drive around to spot the really visible offenders.

Nah.
Well he's not wrong, but he's not right either. It isn't sloppily done, but the textures can be fairly bad at times. The game looks great if you don't walk up to stuff so close. But it is running on ancient hardware, and they had to sacrifice a bunch of stuff to get it how it looks.
It's not like the other games are innocent either though.
No lemon. Bungie set the bar. The bar of perfection that has no flaws in it whatsoever. What are you? Some kind of not fanboy?

Anyone else find it ironic Verb plays on normal because he thinks its the way "the dev intended for it to be played"
Even though the Heroic difficulty specifically say "the way the game was meant to be played"
:^
it literally doesn't, though
it only says that for halo 3--a game i haven't touched in years
so there is no way i could possibly know
LOOK WHAT YOU FUCKING DID BATCH. NOW WE GOTTA DO THIS FUCKING SHIT ALL OVER AGAIN. IT'S LIKE WE RESTARTED FROM THE CHECKPOINT ALL OVER AGAIN.

I'd just like to take a moment here to say fuck bad parents for raising shitty kids.
The kid's got no fucking hand and for some reason that warrants being a dickhead about it to him. How much more of a fucking shitty parent can you be not to raise a kid who looks at somebody who's lost half an arm to something and rather than show some decency, instead laughs at him.
WHAT THE FUCK.

I think with diligent testing, we could mitigate the side-effects to a point where they are either negligible, extremely rare, or harmless.
That was essentially my point. There will always be side-effects; all you can do is make them as maleficial and infrequent as possible.
This brings up something interesting. What if they could switch the polarity on side effects? Unexpected side benefits. I'm aware of the complexity of engineering drugs and all that. But I actually wonder. Has there never been any single drug out there that had a positive side effect that wasn't part of the intended reaction?

I'm drinking specialty non filtered water straight out of an underground stream.
The bottom of my water jugs have wonderful sediment and silt colouring.

I don't remember any offhand. But one of my favorite things to listen to is remixes. I always find them fun to listen to because it's always impressive how somebody can make a tune out of mismatched bits and pieces and not make it sound like complete gobbledy gook. Here. Found one. I believe I'm in a heavy minority of people who don't listen to stuff like this just for shits and giggles.

Both were hilarious to piss people off in.

I essentially pretty much play the real version of it.
"Would knit 20 pound sweater from a bear again" -10/10
"Holy shit it's fucking cold" -5/5
"This game is an accurate representation of Beaver maulings" -7/10
"It's like Skyrim with maple syrup" -8.5/10

That's a very, very good question. To answer honestly? No. I don't. I don't feel valued. I don't feel loved. And I feel very much alone, and on my own. Like a walking pile of garbage that's worth nothing.
But I understand that it's not the case. I don't feel loved or valued. But I understand that just because I don't feel like it doesn't make it so.
I don't know if that constitutes as a yes or a no to your question. No I don't feel valued, yes I understand that I am?

I'm surprised. I thought you didn't like driving the 'Hog.
Ugh, imagine what that would be like on ice....
Not that there's a great deal of Ice driving in Halo 1, but it's pretty easy to drive once you get used to how slippery it is, although there are only like 3 areas in the entire game that I can think of (in both Campaign and MP), where the only way to get past is to drive through the Ice, with no possible way around.
Come to think of it, I realize that no other Halo game after that had ice physics. Gay.

Be somewhat confused and move on.
So friggin' stoic. Nihil admirari.
Well, what can I do about it besides make people doubt my sanity?
Show and tell them things with conviction, things too elaborate to be the product of imagination or research. Still... what then?
"You had an alternate life as a shaman." "Oh cool."
Actually, people might envy you for your double lifetime, which could be bad. People could be somewhat impressed and intrigued as well. I suppose the immediate consequences appear to be purely social.
I think it's a symptom of Schizophrenia to believe you had a past life.
I think that for the purposes of the topic we're 'sane'.
But the hypothetical people we're hypothetically trying to convince don't know that.
Fight them.
Because assaulting people that don't believe you're an entirely stable individual will make them reconsider.
It worked for the Catholic Church.

At least the culture evolves there.
Offtopic has carved itself a niche in the unending desticle hordes.
If by culture and "evolve" you mean grow moldy as fuck like old cheese then sure.

More rain.
I feel like curling up and dying for no reason.
Can't think straight so I fuck up all the work I try to do.
Mope and eat a fucking salad.
Accomplish nothing.
Wonderful day.

Dear Sir:
I have been requested by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to contact you for assistance in resolving a matter. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company has recently concluded a large number of contracts for oil exploration in the sub-Sahara region. The contracts have immediately produced moneys equaling US$40,000,000. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company is desirous of oil exploration in other parts of the world, however, because of certain regulations of the Nigerian Government, it is unable to move these funds to another region.
You assistance is requested as a non-Nigerian citizen to assist the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, and also the Central Bank of Nigeria, in moving these funds out of Nigeria. If the funds can be transferred to your name, in your United States account, then you can forward the funds as directed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company. In exchange for your accommodating services, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company would agree to allow you to retain 10%, or US$4 million of this amount.
However, to be a legitimate transferee of these moneys according to Nigerian law, you must presently be a depositor of at least US$100,000 in a Nigerian bank which is regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
If it will be possible for you to assist us, we would be most grateful. We suggest that you meet with us in person in Lagos, and that during your visit I introduce you to the representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, as well as with certain officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Please call me at your earliest convenience at 18-467-4975. Time is of the essence in this matter; very quickly the Nigerian Government will realize that the Central Bank is maintaining this amount on deposit, and attempt to levy certain depository taxes on it.
Yours truly,
Prince Alyusi Islassis

Convince people to stop giving birth? Not asking for a whole lot? Okay. Flip the table.
Is a Christain asking you to put your faith in God asking for a whole lot? I'd wager to you it would be. only because there is no god, so I mean that's not a great comparison
And 100%? Yeah, we would. Because if you don't have 100% concensus there's holdouts. There's opposition. There's active resistance. For example. there are already laws in china that say you can't have more than, like, two kids and i'm sure there's people who disagree with that law, but generally speaking, most people abide by it
It is actually a good comparison because to a Christian's point of view there is a god and asking somebody to put their faith in said god isn't a big deal. Which was what I was trying to explain. Disparity in point of views. They exist everywhere. Take even the most affluent religion in history or the world currently. Still don't have 100% supporters. Far from it. And China is China Verb. That's a mindset among a different culture. They're largely accepting of their government and it's dealings, if you haven't noticed. Mainly because their government seriously doesn't joke around. You try to run a law like that in a country that actively can question or resist their government? And it won't fly. Having less kids makes sense because of overpopulation issues. Having no kids is a big, BIG fucking jump to try explaining to people. Let alone enforcing that law in remote parts of the world. There's still tribes of "primitive" people that exist today Verb, that have had no outside contact with technology or even people. Anti-Natalism is one of those things that has trouble the more variables you throw at it. As anything would. You have to think of it as an equation. If your equation can't be inserted into the larger bundle of code without any hitch-ups to almost 99.9% then it will never work.

I also wouldn't bet the future is a solid avenue of approach either since there's other forms of science out there. I wouldn't say drugs are the future solely. They may play a role in things but not the entirety of them. that was just meant to be a mock of the stereotypical idealist's zeal over dumb bullshit--not meant to be taken literally
I TOOK IT LITERALLY VERB. I LITERALLY TOOK IT LITERALLY.

It's a concept that can never be realized or reached. says you
we freed the slaves and we legalized gay marriage
pretty sure we can convince people to stop giving birth it's... not really asking for a whole lot
It's a failure. And if you're going to say that one day there's a possibility that we can reach 100% agreement on something? we wouldn't need 100%
Convince people to stop giving birth? Not asking for a whole lot? Okay. Flip the table. Is a Christain asking you to put your faith in God asking for a whole lot? I'd wager to you it would be. And 100%? Yeah, we would. Because if you don't have 100% concensus there's holdouts. There's opposition. There's active resistance. For example. This very fucking discussion about people being opposed to certain forms of technology as "un-natural."

the main reason i don't agree with her, though, is because i think anti-natalism is so much better
and it's not even that I disagree with her--it's just that, I don't see any compelling reason to be like, "wow, drugs are so awesome! drugs are the future!"
No. Fuck that.
drugs are awful--period and they shouldn't be the future until they're 100% safe to fucking use
I also wouldn't bet the future is a solid avenue of approach either since there's other forms of science out there. I wouldn't say drugs are the future solely. They may play a role in things but not the entirety of them.
