Your dancing T-Rex with a vagina looks wrong.

I got nothin'

I do.

Verb's playing AoTCR. I made the mistake one day of reading his post title in Sean Connery's voice.

Gaming / Playing as a "vulnerable" Master Chief
« on: August 24, 2015, 01:48:04 AM »
Just some thinking. It's always been noted that most Spartans feel as if MJLOLNIR armour is a second skin since they're used to practically living in it. As MC once thought or coined it akin to, it was like being naked without it.

Think it would ever be interesting to play as MC in a point of vulnerability like that? A portion of a game where MC is stripped of his armour and has to resort to good old fashioned stealth tactics and melee in light of being weaponless?

I figure it'd be interesting from two perspectives, both MC's and the players, since we too, are used to roaming around in a near bullet proof suit of armour. No HUD to guide us along or display our condition, a much less bulletproof state and so on.

Any pipe dreams you folks have for Halo gameplay?

My xbox decided that for some reason, upon entering the dashboard, starting up a game, or in general, doing any fucking menu related action whatsoever, that it would be a good idea to sign my profile out.

Not only is this irritating, but I did a stupid because of it this evening.

Went to go watch some movies on xbox movies. Signed out as usual automatically but I forgot. So it listed all my bought movies as "void." So I said, "Well, void movies take up space, let's clean those fuckers out."

Too late, did I realize that the movies were listed as void because I wasn't signed in.

I could crush that little plastic box with my hands if I wished. Rip it apart and chuck that fucking thing through a window.

I hear you. Loud and clear.

I've always found TF2 to be a really difficult game to snipe in
When you get good at sniping TF2 becomes a point and click adventure game.

My main used to be Heavy.

It was a platformer/grind adventure game for me.

On my right side there's a bank.

And on my left there's another restaurant.

Compared to to those two options you gave me, I'll stick with what I've got.

No, you're not.

You're Muscle-kin.

Your outside exterior of flesh and bone is but a hindrance to your true inner self, your real self. On every level but your outside, you are muscle.

Night's the worst time of day for me. That's usually when I feel the shittiest.

It also happens to be when I have my best ideas, drive, and motivation apparently. It's the most lopsided, polarized fucking combo I can think of. Ideal night for me?

Music to set the mood. Total quiet outside of the mood, no interuptions. Total darkness. And either writing like mad or working on something in G-mod.

I never really got Gmod. I played it, but I never really saw what the point of it was, all anyone seemed to do was attach rocket boosters to bathtubs and lol at how funny it was.

I just spawned NPCs and made them fight to the death. It honestly felt, to me, more like a crappier, less intuitive version of Forge or the Far Cry map editor.

But I was like, 11 last time I played it so that might have affected it.

Spoiler

Shameless self promotion. If you've the mind for it you can make that rickety old engine do a lot more than first glance.

Certainly more than the autismo bulk of the fanbase would have you believe.

Oh, wow. That's actually kind of cool.

I should probably have another go at it when I get a computer with better processing power than a remote control helicopter.

Steep learning curves ahoy bacon. The game was never meant to function in the manner that people use it so if you ever want to make something like what I posted up above there, well, it's not easy. And I ain't even good at it.

These are examples of what people who are good at it can do.

Fuck. If I had seen those without exposition, I could honestly believe they were actually drawn/ painted/ whatever.

Most people like to do a bit of editing after they make their work, for example, the stormtrooper up there likely had some of his more jagged edges cleaned up, some of the light on him alongside with his shadow altered. The rain was most likely added in with something like Gimp or Photoshop along with the other alterations I listed.

But over 95% of the picture could be set up in game, with the small adjustments like light being done as finishing touches.

You gotta know your shit bacon. Something I'm still happily learning as I go.

Hur. I swear. I know all the specifics and the names.

I believe it's a 1994 4x4 Chevy. I know I normally know all the specifics about it but I can't for the life of me think of them right now.

The thing is a fucking tank of a truck if there ever was one. Put the right tires on it and it can go just about wherever it pleases. And it's a good hauler in terms of carrying weight.

12 years of service and it hasn't failed yet to this day. Little heavy on gas though.
You thinking of an S10 or a C/K10?

I don't have a clue. Trying to remember the details. Don't got em. Manual transmission.

Possibly, very late 1980's but most likely built in the end decade of the 90's. That's all I got.

The assault rifle is actually good at suppressive fire and clearing rooms of elites and grunts..

It's actually one of the best weapons to have for fighting Flood because of it's spray. It knocks off body parts rather well.

Oh hey look I did something lazy and five minutes-ey.

A really, really rough concept piece of a starship from a story I'm writing. This is a small craft, roughly one story building sized, essentially run of the mill cannon fodder. Belongs to a race I've coined as "Seeders."

Seeders are insectoids, and make their starships out of the most common material available in the galaxy. Asteroids.

Anywho. This is incredibly lazy work for me. Kinda bugs me. But it was nice to make. In hindsight, I see where I could have used a new tool I acquired in-engine as well.

And I need to find a way to make electricity arcs.

« on: August 23, 2015, 12:36:39 AM »
Nah.
Well he's not wrong, but he's not right either.
It isn't sloppily done, but the textures can be fairly bad at times. The game looks great if you don't walk up to stuff so close. But it is running on ancient hardware, and they had to sacrifice a bunch of stuff to get it how it looks.

It's not like the other games are innocent either though.

No lemon.

Bungie set the bar.

The bar of perfection that has no flaws in it whatsoever.

What are you? Some kind of not fanboy?
you got me.

reach is a flawless 10/10 and the best in the series

Spoken like a true loyalist.
