Statistically speaking, you're 75%% more viable to fail your classes due to texting.

Statistically.

Had an interesting thought. What do you happen to be taking up, Ender?
I'm a freshman in highschool so nothing.

And I don't know what I want to be :/

Oh lawd. You're at that stage.

Don't let highschool rough you up now, right?

Although I can't say I'm satisfied that we live in a world where most objective truths get shit on and ignored in favor of shortsighted-ness.
Nobody is. It's just that all of us--at least in one area--are usually incapable of realising when and where we lack a proper approach to obtaining objectivity.

Can't forget willpower either. Some people may realise stuff. But do nothing about it anyway.

If I praise the sun my prayers will cause the sun to be bolstered in confidence and therefore able to defeat the mass of lions that threatens to absorb it under their own collective weight.

Lot of good that objective fact did you, didn't it?
So? Facts aren't defined by utility of action. You could say religion is a fantastic way of reaching social cohesion, and you could be right but it would have precisely zero bearing on the truth of religious propositions.

Quote
Likely, nothing.
That doesn't mean I'm ignoring the fact, however; it's possible my perception on the issue is poor, but my perception doesn't define the objectivity of that fact. As far as I'm concerned, the utility of me smoking is higher than the disutility of me smoking. If information asymmetries exist, and I'm indeed wrong about my own preference that still doesn't negate the existence of the fact.

Quote
So I seriously question, what is the actual point and value of an objective fact when it can actively be ignored, stepped over, bent and broken, and discarded in favor of somebody's own personal stupidity/preferences?
Objective facts have value to us as agents because we seek it; the fact that we have perceptional biases that prevent us from reaching true objectivity--and always will--doesn't negate the journey of seeking it. Even the most incorrect, psychotic nutjobs incorrigibly believe they are objectively correct.

Makes sense well enough for me I guess.

Although I can't say I'm satisfied that we live in a world where most objective truths get shit on and ignored in favor of shortsighted-ness.

Computer games. Hope to one day work at 343i or Bethesda games studios.

Wishful thinking. The guy that made the Falskaar mod for Skyrim was hoping to land a job at Beth but didn't get it.

Getting a career in the gaming industry is like getting a career in music.

I'm all for following your dreams but lets be realistic.

Grind your soul away in a meaningless job until you go shoot up the cafeteria?

Sounds like a plan.

That's not what I was saying. It's just that getting a career in something like games or music is lu-cra-tive. There are still plenty of more achievable careers out there that aren't dead end jobs.

Ah, I see.

Don't do fun shit.

Do the shit that makes you money. Naturally.

I was implying that you could find something else that you'd enjoy and get a decent wage out of ._.

That's a pretty big "could" by today's standards.

You could, potentially find another job that you enjoy and get a decent wage out of.

But most likely you'll end up in a soul crusher.

Objectively, yeah, you exist in a better state when you're healthy and physically fit.
Which is the point. People not giving a shit doesn't negate the existence of facts regarding health.

Except that it does. If facts and laws are actively walked over, and broken, and infringed, then what actual merit does that law have? Really, think about it. Somebody puts a gun up to your head with the intent to kill and you tell them, "Hey, it's a fact that killing me is no good for me, or my family, or my friends."

They'd still fucking shoot you. Lot of good that objective fact did you, didn't it?

How about something a little more grounded? You smoke minty smokes, Meta. I could tell you, right now, that you're paying to kill yourself. That you're actively damaging and clogging your lungs and destroying their capacity to grant your system oxygen.

And what are you going to do with that objective fact?

Likely, nothing.

And that is on all accounts, likely more than 90% of almost how all people act when you present them an objective fact. So I seriously question, what is the actual point and value of an objective fact when it can actively be ignored, stepped over, bent and broken, and discarded in favor of somebody's own personal stupidity/preferences?

What good is in stating that it's an absolute and then casually discarding it?

An objective fact is completely null until somebody chooses to actively acknowledge it.

First Dark Souls. Five orbs.

Yep.

Pursuers are regarded as a tad broken mainly because they hit like trucks and can actually 360 track you if you roll them the first time.

Most builds might have lots off offensive power Loaf, but every build and playtype has a weakness.

Except for mexican builds.

You don't beat lag.

Jack of All trades, I guess.

Honestly I couldn't be arsed about a career.

Is health objective?

Judging by how most first world countries are struggling with an ever growing(no pun) obese population, and that we surround ourselves in an otherwise toxic cancerous environment and actively constantly allow ourselves acceptable levels of harm?

No. It sure as fuck isn't. Objectively, yeah, you exist in a better state when you're healthy and physically fit.

But, objectively, you could also, almost say that nobody gives a shit.

I never put much faith into objectivity because what does it actually amount to? Tell a smoker that they're paying to kill themselves slowly and they'll say okay. 99% of them will do nothing with that.

Try telling somebody who's out to beat the shit out of you that you're going to get hurt and that it's going to suck. Or that both of you could get hurt and it would suck. They sure as fuck won't listen. Objectivity is nice and all. But utterly fruitless when it can so easily be broken and infringed on.

Just imagine what would happen after they reach Ronald Reagan's voice and start heading in our direction.

They'll pass through every broadcast wave we ever put out and if they tuned into them they'd probably get a decent history timeline of our world as they traveled towards it.

It's further killed groups? It's only a matter of time before TFL starts showing up.

I wouldn't say completely axed. But made them difficult to live with.

Also the new update basically trashed all the dark scripts that people used as well.

And it seems like mobile users were spared the rod.

Just to further kill groups it seems.

And lol it's still managing to get worse. Now there's this big obnoxious sidebar on the left side that persists no matter where you go in a group. Not that any of you care much at this point.

But me, personally, I love watching the shitshow with a bucket of popcorn. I wonder what they'll think of next, those crazy devs.

I can understand the farmer's side of it though. They have to get back the funds that they put into their work. Going bankrupt is going bankrupt. I can understand why they'd be pissed.

But if anything, and I know I'm probably leaving myself open to get shit on by a certain economist, this just re-affirms my belief that a globally interconnected economy in terms of monetary money value blows fucking ass.

I thought your xbox exploded?

I fixed it. The chips weren't damaged but the cat barf corroded some wires. Easily replaceable with a little bit of hobo workarounds and some cleaning. I just had to tamper with the thing and try to get into every nook and cranny. They pack those little boxes tight.

I figured, since the box was already dead, it wouldn't actually hurt to see if I could replace as many parts as I was able to, stick everything back together and try it.

And it worked. I've a zombie xbawks now.

Gaming / I believe I've resurrected Giant Dad
« on: September 08, 2015, 01:16:54 PM »
I like tinkering with builds in Souls II. As you all know the giant dad build basically dissappeared due to poise mechanics. I find that with both illusionary rings and dual greatswords at 99 str you can still stunfuck and utterly stomp people.

But I made a recent discovery.

With 99 vitality and one ring that boosts your equip load, you can cast iron flesh on full havels armour and fat roll. Under normal circumstances iron flesh usually completely over encumbers you. But with enough equip load you can fat roll or even fast roll.

I tested it out in the arena with a bare fists build and the mask of pharros for extra hate mail. The amount of damage you can tank is insane.
