Smiggles was a pretty big game changer for me in early days. Without the little boots and nudges of confidence, it might not have kickstarted me to go more in depth with my writing to push it to where it is now.
Noelle and Nuka helped speed me up big time on trans folks, an thing I was previously practically in the dark about.
All the other various intelligent memebers in their respective fields over time have also given me some broader viewpoints to work with. But really, I could say that it's everybody I've ever talked to here or on Bungie.
I took what I was able to do here, simply being able to talk and express myself in some manner, and applied it to real world me and my life. I grew a little bolder. Stood my ground on people. And learned how to essentially begin speaking for myself.

It must get complicated for some things. I always tend to draw the line at if said enjoyment effects other people. If my enjoyment infringes on somebody, or can harm them, then it doesn't get a pass in my books.
It depends, I guess. Like, I guess the biggest question is, "What am I getting out of this?"
With pornography, I get an orgasm.
After that, I lay in bed, sad that I spent two hours of my life for five to ten seconds of pleasure.
The cost-benefit just isn't there in my favor.
You could always just stop being a fucking olympic triathlete then. Sense of humor here, just go find something that isn't so boring. Instead of two hours, you get 60 seconds. Less time wasted, but same end result.

Then again Verb, I realize that my own experiences are clouding my judgement here. I am where I am today because of my shit childhood, which I don't find something to be proud of. You might say that all things considered, I turned out so far above and beyond what an upbringling like mine could have led to. But, I find that nothing to be proud of.

I phrased it wrong. I'm saying your childhood isn't much to be proud of because it can literally be equated to a coin toss. There's kids out there who were, or are like you, who can turn out to be the absolute opposite of what they were as kids. There's kids who can do everything right, and then get shit on by life completely. Likewise, there can be completely foul kids who grow up to be something different. Completely shitty kids who end up being better off than other people. So, what I'm saying is, it's not really something to be proud of. There's no inherent special quality to the manner you were raised or the choices you made that allowed you to get to this point. You just got lucky.
