In light of all this wonderful bickering, I just have one thing to say in light of your arguments class.
You need both parents to properly raise a child. Because both parents are different, they provide key aspects to their child that cannot be provided by just one parent. In a functional family, both parents bring things to the table. Fathers provide in their own way. Mothers are usually softer, and gentle. And fathers provide the push and drive for their kids. This is, ideally, in a working family. Both males and females take from their parents, both of them. Lack of a second parent destabilizes things and it becomes somewhat of an issue. I might agree that mothers have a softer nature to them. But dads contribute in their own way. And, you're forgetting one last thing. Mother's bond stronger with a son, than with a daughter. And likewise, fathers bond stronger with a daughter than with a son. It revolves around our protection instincts and the fact that opposites attract. As a son grows older he's going to clash with his father, and likewise, a daughter will clash with her mother. Switch the parents around, and this usually doesn't happen. Of course, this all hinges on a functioning family. But still. My point here, is that both sexes are needed. In a breakup, you can't pick sides based off of one sexes qualities over the other. You have to choose who would be the better parent to try and manage alone. Such is not often the case, however. 3189

And, if some people might figure I'm bigoted or close minded on the issue, maybe you, Prehistoric, I acknowledge that it's my opinion.
My opinion means nothing, nor will it amount to nothing. I will never be in a position of power to change such things based off my opinions. And I wouldn't ever act negatively on them either. But, I am fucking tired of seeing all these fucking whiny ass religions spilling their fucking milk over "religious freedom." When your religion can warp the rules that other citizens have to follow, then you can go fuck yourself. 3199

But if you do, then it's given consent. 3200

They can't break the law because they fucking change the law for themselves. It's pandering fucking bullshit. And I don't give a fuck if it's in the constitution because I just told you I don't place faith in the government whatsoever. And, on the issue of elections, I don't know. All the candidates are fucking shit. Harper has one thing up his sleeve that the others don't. He's a businessmen through and through. But he's shit everywhere else. Personally, I think if anybody else gets in other than Harper, it's going to be worse. Then again, I don't trust politicians either. They're always the same old song and dance pandering bullshit. No matter who gets in, it's going to be fucking shit anyway. 3201

I haven't quite brushed up on the facets of news so I can be rusty in areas. I don't give a shit about religious freedom. You should, have the right to practice your faith in the sanctity of your home or a place of worship. But not to change the laws that every other citizen of the country has to follow, just because you're in a religion. I'm sorry, but no. Fuck that. I don't like "religious freedom" because the first thing every religion does, is try to bend all the rules in their favor. To the point that they have an advantage and can do things that citizens of the country do not. That's some grade A special snowflake group bullshit. And, on the bill. I can't really comment much on that one because all I have is the limited info about it and my own personal stance on things when it comes to stuff like information sharing. We already exist in a world where as soon as you leave any sort of footprint, somebody could access just about anything they want to know about you. The bill advocates for sharing information, if I remember correctly. But it's got some loopholes that could be abused rather easily. Personally, I put very little faith in the government. And I don't expect them to do a good job. And I certainly don't expect them to get better anytime soon. 3203

I often wonder how long this group is going to last. Are we all going to end up as some uniquely tight knit forum over time? Are we going to grow old, and stay here, talking to those strangers, our friends from across distances we likely will never be able to travel?
In time, will those bonds strengthen? Perhaps some of us will grow bold, and travel, and see a few of those faces that they talk to every day but never see. Reading through all of these various replies from people, I'm reminded of something. You people have left a mark on me. If I had no ties, or responsibilities I would likely come visit you. Any of you. Maybe even help, if I could. Or at the very least, make your day pleasant, if I could. Something, anything to show that I appreciate any of you being there in some form. Ah, such idle fancies. If only. 3209
The Flood / Re: Most depressing aspect of your life?« on: October 14, 2015, 01:47:33 AM »
Just some offhand thinking here. I've talked with all sorts of people. Especially about school. I've talked to a lot of people who were the "oddballs" of the bunch. Naturally, all those people grouped together. They just have a way of finding each other.
Reading through this thread fascinates me. Look at the replies. Look at how so many of them share so many similar circumstances. How so many of us share the same thing. We're alone. We don't know where we're going. We don't know how we're going to get there. We don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. We resign ourselves to whatever fate has in store, and we don't believe that it has anything good for us. And, on top of it all, the majority of us have roots in a mere, simple, out of the way gaming forum. And through some strange circumstance, we all moved here when our respective home lost it's golden touch. Is it not funny, that we're all strangers from across the world, never having met in person, and yet, we're all here? And what's truly funny, is that when asked, why we continue to come here, most of us would probably answer with a solid, "I don't really know." Similar outcasts, always find one another. Don't know how. Don't know why. But here we all are. 3210

Well, if we're going with the average mass of a little kid, somewhere in the 60 pound range, picking them up and throwing them overboard would be no problem for me in this scenario. 60 pounds it quite light.
But then again, the little buggers have weapons. And there's boatloads of them. At which point I'd pick the most versatile tool for the job at hand in this scenario. Chainsaw with a roughly three foot blade. If we're fighting on a boat, you could bet that with a chainsaw I could hold some of those tight corridors down. |
