Not really a spoiler, but I'll spoiler it just in caseSpoiler Buck be like "Dude wtf?" Neat. It disables power armour.
It locks it up. It doesn't disable it. That's why he goes stiff.
Still counts as disable right? The armour's not functioning properly so it still counts as being disabled.

I don't know what I'd do, but I do know that "revenge" isn't a great cause. Killing him wouldn't bring back my wife/son/daughter. It wouldn't solve anything. One murderer is dead--great. There's hundreds of thousands across the entire world.
When it comes to punishment vs. rehabilitation, I've always leaned more towards punishment. I don't think prisoners should be comfortable in prison. I don't think they should have entertainments or access to anything that could resemble a good, honest life. No--they're in prison, and they should be punished for the crimes they committed.
If I were to kill him, it would be for the sake of removing a detrimental person from society--it wouldn't be for revenge.
I apologize if my posts aren't lucid. It's 5 in the morning and I'm kind of trying to get this thread locked, because I'm pretty much done with it. Any conversations that are ongonig can continue in PMs if you so desire.
I agree there. Prison shouldn't be cushy. I don't think it's quite a matter of revenge though. As far as I'm concerned, when you take a life willingly, you forfiet yours. And it should be the survivors of the lives you destroyed, that decide what happens from there. But, my point. More bullshit laws that I wouldn't follow. Which I don't see why anybody else would want to, either.

Okay Verb. Here's an example, that's much less...outlandish. A hypothetical, for you to consider, if you will. Let's assume, that you have a family of your own. Wife and child. Your kid's adopted since you don't like babies. Somebody comes in one day and does something terrible to them like raping them before killing them. What would you do? The lawful legal process, would have you dress up fancy, and go to court, and look that person in the eyes to make testimony against them. Now, right there, there's a few things that can happen. The guy who raped and murdered your family might have a good lawer. He might not get life in prison. He might even get a long sentence with eligibility for parole. Let's assume that he gets life in prison. You, as a taxpayer, are partially paying to incarcerate that man for life in prison. It's prison, obviously. But, because we're "good natured human beings," that guy is pretty well off now. He won't be paying taxes, won't be paying for his food, and is supplied rather nicely with entertainment. Now, I don't know what you would do Verb. Which is why I presented it as a hypothetical to you. But for me? Those laws, and that whole prim and proper bullshit? No. I wouldn't stand for it. If somebody did that to me, I'd kill them. And not quickly or nicely, either. And I wouldn't let anybody judge what happenes to that person for me, but me. What's your stance on those laws, taking into account a hypothetical like that? And don't drop the "cheap example" thing on this because it's a real common occurence.

The ending of "Metropolis", after Chief blows up the Scarab. The ending cutscene to the level is the start of ODST.

You're overreacting over a simple statement, Sandtrap. And you're bringing up incredibly easy, cheap examples.
In general, laws are only designed to protect us. Just because you disagree with a law doesn't give you the right to break it.
Sorry if that upsets you, but it's the truth.
What exactly defines them as cheap examples? Please enlighten me to the grand category of what constitutes as "a cheap example." Trust me. I know that not all laws are horseshit. But a lot of them are. They're made by people who practically live in offices and eat paperwork for a living. People who don't have a fucking clue what it is to be down in the dirt, so to speak. On your point about rights though. I don't give a shit if it's in my "moral" right. If it's stupid, fuck it. Maybe that's just where I come from Verb. But the only thing I have ever seen happen to people who follow shit laws, is trouble. Even laws in general, to be frank. I don't put any faith in laws. They're not going to act as a shield to save your ass when you need them. They're not going to stop somebody from hurting you if they want to. They're just...... guidlines in civility and some actions that should make sense. Nothing more. If most of the good laws weren't there, it wouldn't change how I act for the worse. Let's say if they removed drug laws, for instance. I wouldn't start anything. I wouldn't go out and murder people or hurt them or anything if they changed murder laws. And I don't trust the government to make good laws. Nor any organisation. And the proof is in all of their history and actions. They're all fucking dumbasses. I'm not going to let them call the shots for me. If I'm wrong for thinking that, then so be it. I'll follow the ones that make sense, and the ones that are fair. But I won't let pointless red tape get in my way. And I sure as fuck won't play their rigged fuck-up of a game to try and change anything either because it's a waste of time.

I mean, I'm honestly surprised that you'd just go with that Verb.
Stupid law? Just *up* and "change it?"
Do you even know how much it takes to change a law? How much red tape and shit you have to go through? How much opposition, paper work, and just utter shit you have to go through? Sometimes, only to be denied, over and over again.
What you advocate for, Verb, by saying that, is playing the game. Taking part, in a system that doesn't give a shit about you and only stands to be more of a problem than a benefit. And it's so fucking clogged up and broken that you can't fix it anyway if you tried because the very base foundation is fucked.
I would rather break a law that I deem stupid and pointless, and take the responsibility of my actions upon myself if something bad came of it, then even try to jump into that rigged fucking board game that people consider as "democracy" or voting or whatever the fuck they'd do to pass a new bill.
Okay. Here's another good one. Because, holy fuck that statement pisses me off. Seriously. That't you'd advocate for that shit baffles me.
Canadian law here.
Somebody breaks into your house to assault you. You defend yourself, and hurt the attacker in any way? You face charges. Maybe even potential jailtime. You, legally, have to wait on the police.
So tell me, Verb, if you were in my shoes, with a law like that existing, and one day, somebody broke into your house with the intent to assault you, what would you do?
If you don't say you'd defend yourself, you're out of your god damn mind. And I'd like to see you change a law like that. You could literally, spend your fucking life away, trying to change that one law alone.
So, no. FUCK NO. Fuck that rigged shit. Seriously. That's dumb Verb. I can't even really believe that you'd go for that, or even say that when you know damn well how much of a fucked piece of shit system we have. And I'm not speaking canadian law here either. That applies to everybody.

fuck off with your totalitarian police state bullshit I'm sorry that you can't own a lobster.
Just pointing out. You sure didn't make much of an argument based on the area around gay relationships. And your other point of changing a law. You think everybody has the time to devote themselves to that? "Changing a law" sounds fine and dandy on paper. But I'm sure you're aware of how much bureaucratic bullshit and fucking red tape there is in our society. As a standard civilian, most people can't do shit. You need to have the money and power sway to get things done. Lemme give you a recent example here Verb. When you come across injured wildlife, in my province, it is illegal to interfere with it. You can't bring it to a vetrenarian because they legally can't treat the animal. And neither can you. I found a goose that had part of its wing blown apart from buckshot. And I brought it to my sisters farm, where they're taking care of it and trying to get it to fly before the snow shows up. I could be arrested for that. Along with my sister and everybody else involved. So, that's a stupid law, frankly. But do you really think that I'd be able to just, "change it?" Fuck no. I don't have the education, money, or political influence for that shit. And I live among a population of people who would likely oppose the law change. So, simply put, Verb, it's easier to not play the rigged game. Because that's what our system is. And I'm damn well sure that you know it's not just a simple "change a law you don't like." Come on now.

I really couldn't bring myself to hate anybody here. For starters, I don't even know any of you in person. And everybody's got their ups and downs. Which might be annoying from time to time in their respective categories, but not something to get worked up over as a whole.

Seems like a slow night tonight. Which kind of sucks. I'm looking for something to talk over or just piss around with and pass some time but I guess there's not much to say tonight.
One of those nights I suppose. Ya wanna talk, but there's nothing left to say.
Know what you mean
I've been studying hard tonight since I have a huge chem test tomorrow, so I haven't really been on
fuck stoichiometry, that's all I can say. Lol
Holy shit this is a slow ass night.
It'd be good for a walk but too bad I don't have any fucking friends to do it with.
I could pull a few threads out of my ass if you'd like. There's a few things I can scrounge up.
Welp, my bitching ain't anything to get riled up over. I probably wouldn't contribute much anyway. But if ya want, shoot.

Wow. I didn't even know it was friday already.
Guess that's a pretty good tell of how fan fucking tastically exciting my week was. Most thrilling events where getting my hands cut up and getting hit with another knock me down for the day headache.
Business as usual then. So, boring.

I'd be too uninventive to get a tattoo. If I ever was going to get one, I'd probably prefer to have it in a place where people could see it. Or I could see it myself without having to do some contortion shit to look at it.
Not my ballpark.

I feel like your thread title is going to get some responses that don't quite match its meaning.
Are you talking about stupid shit that's frightened you in person before?
Or stupid shit that you'd consider frightening?
Because I don't think I've been frightened or startled in person before by people doing stupid shit. And I wouldn't say there's stupid shit out there that frightens me in any capacity.

To a certain degree. There's some hypotheticals where it's just too far out to really accurately judge what you might do in the situation presented. So your answer becomes as much of a hypothetical as the question itself.
They're still good at showing other perspectives or lines of context however.

I don't explicitely remember feeling too much about it. I do remember one part of the movie giving me a question to think about, and that was the burned man on the second ship.
The first ship had a crewmate who was exposing himself to more and more sunlight as well, getting small burns, and I think, he was starting to seem pretty sketchy the more he exposed himself. Then he ended up dying though.
Sort of left me with the question, of whether or not that burning by exposure deal was a natural phenomenon.
I dunno. Strange movie, of the bits I remember.

Apart from cool kid sunglasses I'm patching myself up with some electrical tape. My fingers got fucked a bit from some sharp stuff today. I picked up a wire roll without noticing that it was barbed. Couple of heavy duty snags on my hands.
Hmm. Just turned my hands over and the skin is raw on my wrists. Probably got that from carrying big shit around. This is all going to sting a bit in the morning. That's another nifty little trick I learned on worksites.
Electrical tape makes good hand bandages because it sticks well and provides sturdy protection for you hands if you're going to keep working. Anyway. I don't feel arsed to put much more into tonight. So I'm gonna sleep where I drop now and see what happens tomorrow.
Tootles.
