Oh my god they're going to pull a starchild ending for Halo 6 aren't they.
The only way I see that happening is by firing the Array.
Problem is that there's only 4 rings left. One of which doesn't even have a control room, and another with its surface glassed.

But wait there's more, turns out the Forerunners built a THIRD ARK!

ALL THE WAY IN ANOTHER GALAXY!

Surely they'll help manufacture more Halo rings to help their good old Human chums!
Even the Forerunners weren't able to travel galaxies

Cortana looks less sexualized.

Awesome.

Her time in the domain gave her the full unrestricted understanding and access to modesty.

Hey guys. Remember when Cortana was dead?

Good joke

And thus, any and all impact from her death has been rendered null and void - made worse by the fact that they undid it literally immediately after they went through with it.

Shame, since that was actually a ballsy move, and one of the few interesting things in Halo 4.

Only way they can rectify such a move would be to continue the "Chief: Human or Machine" plot and have him have to choose between Cortana and Blue Team/Humanity in H6

Which would be shit, but a steaming pile of shit.

In the climactic finale, Chief must choose.

The 3DPD scum he so valiantly defends, raising him from birth as an unthinking machine, only to cast him aside when done with as befitting of all 3D scum.

Or his one, true, waifu, driven by deep and intriguing character narrative and motivations, and boasting the superior advantage of being 2D.

What will Chief choose? To remain a machine, or ascend to the mantle of a truely free man?

Find out next time, on the next installment of Power Rangers.

Hmm. Well that's....iffy. I wonder what magic card they'll have to pull out of their asses to justify the domain just suddenly showing up again. You know, the one Didact was supposed to sleep in his cryptum for a while and get better, but instead stewing in his own madness for a few hundred thousand years because it was killed by the previous firing of the Halos?

If the domain is back up then that means the Precursors are up to shit. And that sounds like the logic plague doing its runs to me.

Kind of ironic here. The Covenant always disliked the usage of AI's because they believed AIs were dangerous in that regard.

Welp, if that's the case, here's the inevitable Halo 6. Didact and Chief team up with the Forerunner remnants and Arby's A Team Covenant forces to do battle with Cortana's as the Flood emerges once more and starts doing its whole deal.

Cue the biggest cliche and magic hat trick of them all at the ending.

Yeah, I was able to vote in the Provincial elections and voted NDP and was kind of happy.

Historically I've always sort of been aligned with the NDP (especially with Layton), but this time around... I dunno. Mulcair seems sharp but a lot of the time I felt like he didn't have a plan for some key economic and environmental issues and simply said "we're different than the other two".

It doesn't help that the Liberals this time around were even further left than the NDP, but I digress.

The Flood / Re: What is keeping you where you are?
« on: October 22, 2015, 03:58:22 AM »
I have almost nothing to keep me here. And the more time goes on, the less and less interested I become in everything. It's all irrelevant to me. It has been for a long time, really. The only thing that's keeping me here is the fact that I have some semblance of a functioning brain.

Fuck all if anything gives me enjoyment, and I don't even feel shitty or sad half the time anymore. Just empty. But I understand the consequences for people around me if I were to throw in the towel. I have people I care for.

And they're going to need me in the future. I plan on staying standing for them.

I know it's not the best aim for things. But I have nowhere to go. No places to see. No people to care for me or relate to. But I'm here now. There's likely no escape from this no matter how hard I try. So all I can do is keep going along for the only thing that keeps me going.

Family. Rest of the world could choke on its own dick for all I care but I won't back away from my responsibility to help those people I care about.

Question--does time pass when you fast-travel? It doesn't seem like it. If so, is there any measure for that?

Time does indeed pass. The farther away the target, the more time will pass.

It's a shame that some of the improvements that came with New Vegas aren't in Fallout 3. New Vegas had great dialogue and companions, some of which I'm sure Verb would enjoy.

Fallout 3 has some good ones too, no doubt, but I got some good laughs out of NV's companions.
Mods? I'm referring to mechanics more so, not necessarily dialogue.

I liked that part too. New Vegas had a lot more interactivity to it.

Hm... I can understand that argument with backstabs.

As for the knights thing, yeah. DS2 suffered from too many humanoid bosses/enemies in armor. It removed more of the fantasy element if you ask me and went for a more grounded reality.

You know what I want to see, just once in a Souls Game?

Majula was close, but not quite. I want to see a town hub in a souls game that actually has a population of people to it. Like it's the last surviving refuge of people that aren't hollow. But it needs to feel.... more alive. NPCs interacting and such as you progress through the game.

It'd be really nice if your world hub was just incredibly small and homey and something you yourself could interact with more, while the outside world was basically overgrown, abandoned, and ravaged.

I'm glad you guys appear to be invested in this :)

Your adventures are fun to listen to because of how invested you are. You're not a big fan of horror. And Fallout, while not being horror centered, has it's rather spooky moments and encounters. It's got it's tense moments, its funny moments, you name it. You're going to react more than the average person. Your investment into the game translates well into your own story telling of encounters.

All of us on these forums are most likely veterans of Fallout to some extent. Your encounters and WTF moments are things that we too, experienced. Listening to your stories is a little bit like putting nostalgia glasses on back to our very first playthroughs.

It's fun.

People need to take off the nostalgia glasses and realize Dark Souls 1 was a flawed masterpiece in itself.

Covenants as a whole were confusing and convoluted as hell to begin with.
Really the only things that make Dark Souls superior to Dark Souls 2 are the hitboxes and the atmosphere of the first game. I like the vibe of Dark Souls 1 better than 2, and I think most everyone else does too.
Agreed. Story aside (since you can play it without knowing the story), the multiplayer of DS2 was much more accessible as well. Aside from Dark Souls 2 being buff souls and Soul Memory breaking, it did some good things like quick match making, the slight delay on backstabs, and the frontal parry for shields.

Kinda annoyed me that Miyazaki said he's taking the delayed backstabs and front parry away, like it was a bad thing.

Two notes.

Too many fucking Knight class enemies in Souls II. I mean, don't get me wrong. Knights are cool. And the whole game centered around fuck tons of castles. But we need more creatures, and less humanoids. Dark Souls is partially inspired from mythology. I want to see more mythological monsters.

And fuck did I hate delayed backstabs. The most pointless fucking thing in pvp. I'd get punished for initiating a backstab because their back was to me but LOL PHANTOM RANGE. If I had the option to remove initiating backstabs for myself entirely from my game for pvp, I would have.

SO many lost hits because the game figured I was going for backstabbu.

Like, I'd like the fallout universe more if it wasn't nuclear summer, because iirc nuclear summer wouldn't be a thing, only nuclear winter.

I don't know much about these things though so I might be wrong.

Ah, actually, I gave that some thought. IIRC, the Fallout-verse has a different set of laws than ours. There's different properties to certain atomic particles that can't function in our respective universe. If you want a reason as to why there's no nuclear winter in Fallout, it's for two reasons.

The nukes fell over 200 years ago in the current timeline. Nuclear winter was likely experienced in the early days, but the difference about Fallout's nuclear weapons is that they have a shorter half life than ours. So basically, all the damage came from the heat of the blasts, but less so from the lingering radiation.

This also explains why so many technologies in Fallout are able to use fusion and other atomic based things on small scale levels, as well as generally non-lethal levels.
