Oh. And you'd better answer my statement there Verb. Because I just stated something from my own perspective. Something that I see as positive. Something that attracts me.
I want to see if you can point out anything to me that would make me think about my stance in another light, since from your stance, anything and everything sexual is filthy.
Do you recall the discussion I had with a couple users on dopamine?
Chemical substance that shows up in response to something that makes you feel good. What exactly would be filthy about that?

And if I'm off on context, I can provide more. I'm always actively aware of my own body. Sometimes on my own, if it's quiet, I zone out and take notice and specific focus of things. Like pulse. Or muscles. Or heartbeat.
To me, sharing something so intimate with somebody else, being able to just feel all of that, all of those little differences in another body, and effectively sharing that space with somebody else, who is uniquely apart from you, is enticing to me.
More than anything hardline sexual.

Why do any of you care about Verbatim's retarded opinions?
"I think sexuality is disgusting"
Ok. Good for you. Ducking drop it people. Everybody's welcome to their retarded opinions. We don't need a 10 page argument of the same shit every time he starts peddling his bullshit.
You ever bump into somebody who you think is making a mistake and saying or doing something wrong, and you really, really feel like correcting them? Verb is essentially a walking magnet for that impulse, since he's essentially a walking negative. People don't let things and views that are different slide so easily.

How exactly would it be filthy? Give me any sexual fetish and I will tell you why it's filthy.
K. I'll put myself up on the chopping block. If it were me, I'd enjoy the physical contact. All the little details, the textures, the heat, the definitions, the general closeness. That sharing of a personal space, essentially being completely vulnerable. This isn't some poetic shit either. I just appreciate the idea of being that close with somebody, without neccessarily engaging in anything too sexual. But at the same time, it's still sexual because there's an attraction there. Now, I don't know what sort of fetish you would call that, but, go ahead then. Tell me what's filthy about that. Ah, and one thing. I can agree that when looked at, there's some aspects to human sexuality that certainly aren't pleasing. But, all I'm saying is that there's two sides. Varying degrees if you will.

Humans aren't the only species that engages in acts of violence and cruelty Which is why I hate all life.and I'd wager that the majority of human beings don't find torture, killing and destruction to be very appealing at all. Doesn't change anything. Also, not everyone dies in an awful manner. Enough do to make hating life completely justified.
What's the point in hating all life because conflict and cruelty exist?
Likely because it's in our power to change it. But we don't. People lean towards things that are easy. Being shitty is easy to do.

Verb, I think you're forgetting something about sexuality.
Sexuality doesn't mean just plain sex alone. Somebody can express their sexuality with another person without neccessarily making babies and doing the whole insert tab A into slot B routine.
That's just the result of deviance, which just adds whole new layers of filth.
Not that I care about what people like--I happen to have a sexuality myself, but I'm not going to pretend that it isn't filthy, and that I'm not completely and totally ashamed of it.
How exactly would it be filthy? "Filthy" is defined by certain things and actions in terms of sexuality. There can be "filthy" stuff and non-"filthy" stuff. It's a two way street here.

Something to consider though. Thinking about the tattoo comment.
Let's say you were to take 50 different other white guys with red hair and different tattoos. And shoot them out to that job. How many of them would get the job?
Statistically speaking, not all of them would get the job. Some of them might likely be turned down because of their tattoos, depending on the style.
So would it really be fair to label that incident as white priviledge? What if the guy just had a good personality to match and it's what sealed the deal over his tattoos and otherwise strange appearance?
There are always other factors in things.
Which is why I practically hate when the word privilege is thrown around like some insult and shame train bullshit.
The point of that one is that a black guy with tattoos and dreds would be seen as an unqualified thug, whereas it's seen as artsy in a white guy.
And you're seriously not taking into account that a lot of black thugs sport that style? Dreds and tattoos are seen a lot with gang members and it's practically a part of gang culture these days. Once again, I'm not saying that just because a black guy sports dreds and tattoos means he's a part of gang culture. But you can't deny that a lot of black gang culture sports those looks.

In a lot of cases it's probably like that. To the people I do talk to I'm more invested as I get to know them, naturally.
But I notice when certain names don't come on so often anymore. I know that generally most everybody here has something that's not going right in their life. So I start to worry if I don't see certain names showing up.
You might not be as invested here because you have a social life and other things to occupy your time. I don't.
I'm sory if I scared you when i dissappeared for a couple months.
From what I gather you seem decently stable headed. Probably enough that you wouldn't end up doing anything to yourself. I did wonder, though. I figured you just went off and jumped ship to waypoint because of this obviously cheery, and welcoming community.

Hmm. Personally I think I'd find more enjoyment out of it if I was sharing an intimate experience with somebody who could appreciate things on a higher level other than "oh yeah fuck me harder."
Less of a one way street and more of an exchange, so to speak.

The first thing I though of was graphic traps like somebody's leg getting chewed to bits by a bear trap.
Then I thought of legitimate "traps."
I'm slightly relieved but dissapointed at the same time.

I've looked at this before. And I find it kind of ironic, really. I've always been good with kids. Hell, this summer, even, I had a discussion with my sister and her husband about their daughter.
For being just merely an Uncle, I do a lot more for my little neice than is ever asked of me or even expected. I'm like her second dad. I'm her best friend. And I've made it my personal job to watch out for her.
This summer, my sister discussed with me, that they both agreed, that if I accepted, I would claim legal guardianship over my little neice if something happened to both of her parents.
I'm 22. I don't know of many people my age who would, or have taken such a big responsibility. But I accepted.
The irony here is that I never see myself having kids of my own. I don't think I'd be a good father figure to kids of my own, nor would I do it right. And, honestly, I don't ever see myself ever finding anybody to have kids with. I understand that things may change. But right now, I don't see it happening.
So, no. I don't.

I feel the same, and when you do hear news that members did pass away I actually get sad. Sure I never knew you, but the person was a familiar "face". I think that's just being human. And at times since the community was so small, everyone did matter. The eventual leaving begs a lot of question and a lot of time you will never know why or what happened. Just the mystery that encompasses being anonymous.
I certainly care for the wellbeing of members of this site. Whether I had invested a lot of time or not, I still would.
But, really, it all comes down to how much people want to share. Even I don't bleed my guts out completely all over the forums. And there are people here that I still hardly know after all this time. It all depends on what you can share amongst each other, and what you're willing to share with somebody you figure is interesting enough to bother with. Sometimes I feel shitty about it because I bump into people or step on them accidentally here because I don't know them. I don't know what to watch out for or avoid, or what not to bring up. Or, I don't know what to say that would be relevant to them. But it's always good to remember that you can't be friends with everybody. Nobody can. The people who feel like sharing with you, will share. All there is to it.

I like this story, in all honesty.
Seriously, what did you guys want?
Cortana's been descending into shit since the end of Halo 2. We needed that plot thread to go somewhere, and for her to be an antagonist, if you ask me, is cool.
To be fair, I'm sort of half and half on it. I do like that at the very least, it has some plausible roots and connections in the story. I wonder if the Assembly joined her or rejected her invite. And it reminds me a little bit of Marathon or System Shock in a way. Cortana now supposedly has access to a Halo ring. Who's to say that she doesn't do a little bit of Shodan and tinker with the Flood?

I find this all rather strangely parallel though, given some thought.
Arguably the greatest military asset and leader having his machine, essentially the greatest one of them as well, turn on him. (Didact and Mendicant Bias)
Having one machine refuse to help the other and instead likely help lead against it. (Mendicant Bias and Offensive Bias)

You'll shill out to the grave for em won't ya.
Wish I had your blind sense of faith. They've done quite a bit that I don't like since they took over, but sure.
Yes, they are predictable. Everybody called it. All the remaining faithful people went "lol no that'd be too cliche." Even before the ending was leaked it was pretty easy to figure out that Locke and Chief were going to team up on the bro team.
And look at that. There it is. 343 practically telegraphs what they're up to. Kinda sucks.
Because everyone was expecting Cortana to come back by accessing the Domain, controlling the Guardians, and becoming a galactic super police.
People were expecting the Flood to suddenly show up, which would've been very predictable.
Huh. Look at that. The story didn't go the way literally everyone was expecting. How predictable.
I love how you dance around on technicalities to try and prove your point no matter how far you have to look and dig just to deflect every ounce of negative naysay that goes 343's way. No, that wasn't predicted. But it still doesn't make up for the fucking massive cliches in story telling that make things boring and dry as fuck.

Oh my god they're going to pull a starchild ending for Halo 6 aren't they.
The only way I see that happening is by firing the Array. Problem is that there's only 4 rings left. One of which doesn't even have a control room, and another with its surface glassed.
But wait there's more, turns out the Forerunners built a THIRD ARK!
ALL THE WAY IN ANOTHER GALAXY!
Surely they'll help manufacture more Halo rings to help their good old Human chums!
Even the Forerunners weren't able to travel galaxies
That we know of.
One new book and they can.
It's been established that they can't.
It was established Cortana died, if their interviews were to be believed.
We see that they're finding someway around that here.
Because they were planning to continue Cortana as a character. They couldn't really just go "lol yeah she isn't dead. also here's halo 5's entire story".
Cortana "dying" isn't even comparable to the Forerunner's established capabilities.
Difference between the two is that Forerunners magically being capable of galactic travel would break canon. "Killing" Cortana and bringing her back in Halo 5 doesn't break canon.
Double posting Path Kethona.avi because 343 are so predictable at this point that you know that's where the last of the Forerunners are camped out, and you know that over the span of 100 000 years since the array fired they've magically tuned their technology up a little bit to allow them a little faster leeway with galactic travel.
okay man
I dunno if it was you or somebody else who adamantly defended that Cortana was dead back when the subject came up.
But lol either way. Figures.
Bringing back a single character =/= they're so ridiculously predictable
You'll shill out to the grave for em won't ya. Wish I had your blind sense of faith. Yes, they are predictable. Everybody called it. Cortana just pulled the old routine fake death deal.
