Serious / Re: Where do you draw the line when it comes to humor?
« on: November 08, 2015, 01:10:31 AM »
I guage the joke based on who might enjoy it. What else am I going to have a sense of humor for, really, besides it being a coping mechanism of mine that allows me not to explode when something bad happens?

I draw the line based on people and what they can accept.

I'm not out to step on people's nerves with humor. Just out to potentially give some a smile. Of course, I can't win them all, obviously. Nobody can. Sense of humor varies, after all.

Why is the US still so anti-secular these days?
the evil liberal/gay/jihadi agenda wants to destroy murica by removing god

this is a CHRISTIAN NATION

and churches just buy into this without actually researching things like the constitution, founding fathers and their faith, etc.
If only they knew what the fuck they were talking about, eh?

A statement that could generally be applied to 90% of the human race.

Oh, the wonders of cognitive functions.

At least Halo 4's lead writer is working there now. He'll sort ME out. He did it with Halo.

Then left and everything fell apart.

Hey bacon. Imagine it.

Brian Reed and Casey Hudson write a game together.

How much of an abomination would it be?

I wonder which ending will end up being canon.

Does it matter?  The red one, I guess.

Everybody knows that red skittles are superior anyway.

It doesn't have to mean he's alive. It's a recorded message. Intended to be played long after Shepard is gone. Who's to say he didn't record that message years before ME3?

Because that wouldn't make any fucking sense.

ME1, Shepard is small time. Little fish, big pond.

ME2, takes places at something like two years after the first. Shepard is clinically dead during that entire timespan.

ME3 takes place 6 months after ME2. And I doubt Shepard was busy casually recording messages for big ventures like that when the Reapers were going full steam towards the galaxy.

Hell, if they had the tech to jump galaxies at that point they probably would have had the tech to out muscle the reapers in a straight up fight.

The most logical timeframe it can take place in is after the Reaper Invasion. In regards to Shepard being alive?

Who the fuck knows. Blame Casey Hudson for boxing his fucking ass in with a bad ending and for EA not wanting the series to end.

I don't know you. So I don't know what to ask. Lemme see if I can pull up a random outta my head.

Shittiest day you ever had in your life?
Probably ~3 weeks ago when I almost killed myself

Rather forthcoming. Three weeks isn't exactly a lot of time to walk back up into shape.

May I ask why?

I ran into Blaze's family at the theater when I was going to see some other film and they seemed kind of embarrassed to be there to see the first one (as they should be). I don't expect this second film to be any better than the first.

So, I never watched the movie. Can you give a brief summary of what it's about, or, in particular, why it's disliked?
It has been a while, but I'll try.

It presents the argument that God isn't real as a personal attack. It presents atheists as smug, dickish, and unhappy. Iirc it also makes the atheist side seem like they have the burden of proof.

It's not a logical movie at all; the whole film is basically a huge emotional appeal and they prove God is real by finding out that the teacher is actually just a Christian mad at God for his wife or something dying.

Reminds me a little bit of various discussions had in the past. That rather interesting point to be made. If all drugs were suddenly legalized, would the people who already abstain from them just up and start using them?

I doubt it. Clearly, the actual legal laws don't stop people from using drugs, so much as they stem the flow of them somewhat.

Why can't we have something in the middle? Like, promote both the singular person and the group as a whole! Keep the individual happy while progressing society at the same time! EVERYBODY WINS

Stable middle grounds are notoriously difficult to balance without eventually teetering to one solid side of things.

This is probably going to sound like a weird question, it's sorta the opposite of what Slash asked me but...

What is it like having sexual feelings anyway?

Good question. I can only say based off the limited ones I've ever had. They're intense, I guess. It's a need and a drive, something you yearn for. You imagine it, and chase after it.

With a partner, I'd imagine it becomes a different story. Their secrets become yours, and vice versa. It's quietly liberating.

Yes and no is the best way I can describe it Verb. It's a really complicated thing to describe on it's own. I still don't even know how.

The doc gave me scenarios and I homed in on one of them instantly. Which is how we figured out that the wiring for attraction in my noggin is reversed. He might have given me a term at some point, but I don't remember it now.

I don't know. What do you call a half assed bi-aesexual?

I've a preference for feminine features. I say features which means this can include MtoF trans folks.

But the really weird part, is the fact that I've no attraction. And it's a bitch to describe properly. But I've always had it. The preference for sex, or gender. But the complete and total absence of any physical lure.

I figured it out a while back with a doc's help. But I don't know what the fuck you would call it.
so, you like feminine features, but not sexually

is that right

Yes and no. That's why I say the preference is there. Because there's still some attraction. But it's almost non existent.

Case and point. Drop me in front of what somebody, or most people would agree, is a pretty woman. Hell, put it into easy mode and have said woman advancing on me and taking an active interest in me.

I get nothing. I'm neutral, I guess.

I know the reason though. Me and the doc figured out that it has to do with the way my head's wired. There are two factors when people consider partners. Mental and physical attraction. Physical, in 98% of cases, is the first form of attraction that people experience with one another.

It's the ignitor of relationshsips. And then, secondary, but still importantly, is mental attraction, which comes once people get to know each other. You cannot have a healthy relationship if both requirements are not met, unless you're aesexual, obviously.

So, my issue is this.

My brain has it reversed. Mental takes priority over physical. Hence the extremely dulled sexual attraction. If I ever found somebody that I could get along with mentally, the sexual attraction would then ignite.

Only problem with this is, I can't attract somebody if I don't give physical signals. Which I don't.
