That's a hard one to advise on since it's not neccessarily a habit, but more of an inherited trait.
I'd have no idea how a materialistic person would change that. Just like how I could never see myself getting pissed over material things or even really wanting them, or, how I'd change that.
The best bet is to rationalize things. Ask yourself the important questions. When you get envious or jealous, ask yourself why. You'll usually get a truthful answer back. How true it is, of course, depends on how afraid you are of reality, or acknowledging it.

Is Dead Space 3 really a terrible game or are nerds just hatin
I think the overall consensus is that 3 is still good, it's just not spooky. Then again, thinking about it, I never played Dead Space for the spooky. I started playing the first game because it just drew me into it. The setting, the mystery, and the lingering question of how the fuck Isaac was gonna make it. I haven't played it yet, but I hear the gunplay and related mechanics in 3 was good. I played the demo and it was solid.
