No care for much in the way of physical looks with the only exception to the rule being that they're not fat and out of shape. I'd like somebody who could keep up with me or hold their own under working conditions.

I'm more invested and concerned over the mind rather than physical stuff. One that could keep up with mine or outpace it. Somebody who makes sense. They're expressly kind but firm if they have to be. Pension for exploring, learning, and creating. And a little bit of quirkyness thrown in.

Most importantly, somebody who can counteract my inherited depressive tendancies.

If I could ever bump into somebody like that, I'd be set. There wouldn't be anything out there that could knock me down or any challenge I wouldn't feel up to if I had somebody like that along for the ride with me.

Well. That's....odd. Stranger than usual for most fetishes or whatever. I can understand the appeal of some subjects. And then there's really far out gross stuff like scat and piss and stuff.

Hell, I could have an easier time understanding MLP cloppers.

But Minecraft. I don't understand that one.

If he's a 10/10 outta 10 then why does he need to compete? Shouldn't he just be a giant pussy magnet instead?

I like to make jokes about how half dead I am.

Seriously. If you're ever exceptionally ill just joke about yourself. It's like everybody in the room is afraid to laugh because you've just reminded them that you're halfway to laying down in a grave and they'd feel guilty about laughing with you.

It's like being the outsider and listening to inside jokes.

The Flood / Re: How do you deal with not going to martial arts daily?
« on: January 15, 2016, 05:23:49 PM »
I understand that not all of martial arts is about the fighting. Hence why it's called martial "art." Discipline and all that. I know a fellow who could train me, if I wanted. But I don't have the time, really. And, honestly, I stray away from stuff like that because mainly, I'm afraid that I'd hurt somebody without meaning to.

I make it a habit to move slowly and carefully around people for a reason. I don't actually know my own strength very well. The second reason being that martial arts does teach techniques that can be applied to actual fighting. Really dangerous stuff. I'd prefer not to know the means on how to snap somebody apart. And I don't like attention.

Of course, in martial arts, or at least the one's I've seen around here, you get a lot of those typical "I'm king shit" kids.

I don't have the temperment for those kinds of folks anymore.

Although there's only one problem with this movie.

I won't be able to take this movie seriously in any capacity because Walter from the Big Lebowski is running a fallout shelter.

The man is quickly converted to veganism once he finds out amidst the throes of his clogged artery heart attack as the Vegan in question reveals that yes, all those animal products did indeed cause his fatty, greasy clogged heart attack.

The man dies, having been saved at the last minute, converting to veganism and proudly eating the nearest dandelion and patch of grass.

The crowd praises green plant based products in happy prayer.

The Flood / Re: 10 Cloverfield Lane trailer (possible Cloverfield sequel)
« on: January 15, 2016, 12:50:13 PM »
If it's a sequel to Cloverfield then one of the possibilities I can think of right off the go is the fact that the monster had parasites on it, which fell off of it and proceeded to spread all over the city almost completely unchecked.

Even if the military eventually killed the big critter those small parasitic ones might have caused some serious clean up issues and long term problems like the plague they carried.
I'm actually hoping this to be the most viable theory.

I was reading into the production of the original movie and the one thing that the film makers wanted to emphasise was the fact that the parasites were more dangerous than the actual monster, what with how quickly they can spread their disease.

That coupled with the radioactive fallout from the A-bomb at the end of the movie could make a pretty interesting post Cloverfield setting.

InB4 A-bomb fallout cell damage and mutations coupled with the plague and the parasites makes freaky infested/mutated people.

I dont understand

Are they in a containment camp or something?

Appears that the father/older guy is an apocalypse prepper and lives in his bunker with his kids(?), ruling with an iron fist. Then I guess the events of Cloverfield happened, the girl got stir crazy and tried to leave.

I hope that isn't the sole premise of the movie, movies set in only a few scenes needs really good acting and/or lots of actors, and I can't say for sure they have either yet. Or, it's a good trailer that is keeping everything under wraps, like trailers should.

Well, apparently this trailer's been in the dark for a while. So, here's hoping it's a good trailer that doesn't spoil the movie.

The Flood / Re: Why do people hate pedophiles?
« on: January 14, 2016, 06:50:57 PM »
I still find it such an odd thing to enjoy.
Like how on earth does anyone look at a kid and think "Yes, they are attractive." Like... what?
if i had to take a guess, i'd say it's a combination of males tending to find young, nubile women far more attractive than any other age group, and societal pressures creating taboos out of certain forms of sexual activity, which has the adverse effect of making the taboo that much more sexually enticing

because the possibility of getting caught gives you a nice big rush

i'm using the same logic i use to justify other sexual fetishes, by the way--this is not necessarily exclusive to pedophilia

it can even apply to having sex outdoors--one of the mildest fetishes there is

Don't forget the mental neurological wiring as well. It's not so much of an acquired taste as it's likely more of an issue in the brain hardwiring.

Gaming / Re: Dark Souls Impressions Thread

Oh shit, I just thought of something. Verb, there is a certain PVP covenant (think of it as a kind of guild) called the Darkmoon Covenant. It allows you to invade people and fight them in their world. The interesting part about it is that it doesn't allow you to invade just anyone, as it only pairs you up with "sinners". These are people who have committed grave sins in the game by, most importantly, invading others and being indicted for doing so. It's basically the covenant of the righteous that sets out to kill the "assholes" who invade and kill others. I doubt this is all still very active, but it might be a way for you to pvp a little without feeling bad about it, as you don't put yourself at risk and only fight people who have sinned and attacked innocents before.
Huh, cool. Thanks for telling me.

I mean, two wrongs don't make a right, but I appreciate the sentiment.
In Dark Souls 2 there is a covenant called the Way of the Blue, that works similar to the one Flee described. See in the very beginning of the game you get a ring that can call to others for help if you get invaded, which is basically just re-assurance and all that.

The ones who invade, the WoTB, are a faction that is basically a "guardian" to helpless players. When invaded, if you have the ring equipped, you get summoned to a world to help them, and you appear obviously Blue. It feels nice. Problem is due to PS3 load times (I haven't tried it on SoFT (which is basically an HD GOTY version with additional features and faster load times on PS4/PC), by the time you popped up they died. Now though you don't.

The same faction that Flee was talking about also exists in DS2, and I would invade people (with a blue orb. Invading "sinners") and say some witty line via messaging, but I forget the catchphrase I used.

Cool thing about DS2 is there are PvP arena's for both blue/red players, so it's not always random. It was added in the DLC of Dark Souls 1, but obviously you had to pay and not everyone did and by the time I played on 360, player traffic was so low that no one was on it. It's quite popular though on DS2, and always a fun way to play with different builds.

The only hitch up is that whole system doesn't work. At all.

Why exactly would anybody put a ring on that wastes a ring slot, while sticking to a covenant that offers nothing, only so that they can depend on another covenant that's practically dead in terms of pvp avtivity because the afformentioned passive covenant is basically non existent in the game?

Making two covenants depend on the activity of each other was such a stupid decision. Nice on paper. Abhorrently useless in-game.

Please explain to me the logic of having a girlfriend who's not interested in the same shit you are.

Wouldn't it just be easier to have one that instead wanted to go to the movies with ya who was also a fan of comic movies?
