d-days?
revision: 4.35 post*days
No no
You can see your total post count, then in your stats section on your profile you can see how much time you have spent online
Multiply that
20 posts * 6 hours * (1 day / 24 hours) = 5 post*days (

I'm gonna take one from set theory and stupidly apply it to this by saying that the total possible sets with my posts as elements is my power level. As of this post I will have 17 posts, meaning my power level would be 2^17 = 131072.
This is not gonna scale well for the purposes of this board lol

Y'know I used to think utilitarianism was cool. I guess I still do. But it's completely impractical to implement it so I tend not to reflect utilitarian views in my posts. I feel for ya, DAS.

Isn't there suppose to be separation of church and state?
Well this isn't exactly a new issue. Any church that disagrees with the church of the conservative party is a good influence, in my opinion, as it at least diversifies the views and, in a sense, dilutes the church-in-state problem by preventing a concentration of agreement on issues for religious reasons.

It is your duty as a patriotic citizen to bring about the end of this disease by ensuring that it cannot spread to anybody else.
Well I'd be in favor of raising taxes to better finance HIV research if that's a sort of social/governmental/authoritarian approach you want to bring to the table. You know, in the same vein as forcibly making the decision to modify someone's genitals, except with an actual potential to pay off. I'm all in favor of magically killing the disease, but circumcision has no relation to this matter. What are you trying to say?
Whoa whoa whoa, guy. Taxation is theft, especially for such a niche application.
Bullets are cheaper, anyway.
Bullets cost tax too mate. Although I guess we certainly have enough of them. I guess this would be like a life tax though huh? Can't say I'm a big fan. New taxes are yucky.

>but muh HIV
Safe practices should be your main concern here. Don't bareback, don't use gym saunas, don't sleep around, and get tested.
Until we wisen up and confine, condemn, and dispose of all HIV carrying persons, every single practice that can help should be enacted.
I should be able, as a person without HIV, to make the choice about my own circumcision, and also to be able to make the decision to risk getting HIV from sexual acts with others, which has no relation to circumcision anyways.

Are you glad you were born? You didn't make that choice, either.
Somebody's been talking to eggsalad too much, or perhaps you are where egg got the antinatalism bug from? In any case, no, I did not make that choice, and in making it for another I realize I am forcing something to experience life as I have, but that is far more for the sake of myself and humanity than it is to do a disservice to the new life. Unlike folks like you, I believe that most people do experience and are capable of a net positive outcome in life. The morality of having a child is not a problem for me, personally. Is it bad that right away I blame the Muslims?

You should be glad.
Why would I be glad about that? Do I not have a human right to a choice?
By the time you're old enough to make the correct choice, the recovery is prolonged and painful.
Well it was probably a prolonged and painful recovery then too, wasn't it? Besides, I would rather have the choice and endure a bit of pain if I wanted it, personally. You shouldn't body mod your children if you do not know what decision they would have made for themselves. I might make an exception if there were health benefits, but in the case of circumcision of males, I should hope we are all past that as an excuse.

Last year was pretty good and this one has been even better, for me. Feels like progress.

I've always wanted a condo because it usually implies a pretty neat location as far as I know. I'm not too needy so a smaller space is fine. Think the captain's quarters in eve online. Perfect space imo. But my understanding is that, as a result of their locations, condos can be damn expensive.
Apartments are great since they sort of force you to keep light on your belongings, since to me apartments imply that you are not there to stay.
Ultimately though I'll probably end up in a house. My SO and I have some fantasies about getting away from urban areas and having just a bit of land to go with it, since many CS jobs are trending to allow telecommuting anyways. It allows for quiet, clean air, and space for a garden/animals if we want them. Could be cheaper too. All around probably the best option for us.

Why is school so easy, and with that in mind: why am I still so ignorant?

- Whether or not the world is deterministic or indeterministic is largely irrelevant to discussions of free will, although I lean toward deterministic. Why do you believe these are irrelevant to free will?
