not gonna lie, certain situations in dota just make me want to quit. i've never abandoned a game before though so i usually don't. but when my friends end up doing lobby ability draft and the draft goes as poorly for me as it usually does . . . i feel bad, but seriously, fuck that. nothing makes me feel as miserable and unfun for some reason, it's bizarre
halo 4's story basically made me flip

Beyond that, to assert that they will "come to feel the same way" is patronizing beyond belief. who cares lol
Well all I was saying was that it demonstrates a certain lack of empathy. You're not obligated to care about that obviously

I think "former bronies" who look down on bronies now must have no empathy whatsoever. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing people who have climbed out of their own personal abyss look down on those who they perceive as having not. Not saying the brony fandom is an abyss, just speaking to the perspective of those who think it is.
well no it's not really a sense of "im better than you" it's more a sense of "you'll eventually feel the same"
I'm not sure you can know that, and that aside, you can only speak for yourself. If you want to convince me that there aren't former members of that fandom who think the fandom is a cancer, go for it. Beyond that, to assert that they will "come to feel the same way" is patronizing beyond belief.

Damn, I don't think I'd ever refrain from a relationship just for racial reasons. That's a little too hardcore for me. And how significant of a problem is this in reality, if it's a problem at all?

Personally, while I agree that diversity is neat, I don't think it's important enough to warrant any sort of regulation or too much care. If we somehow lose a race to mixing (I'm not even sure about your perspective that that's possible), I'm really not sure how much is lost, and I'd prefer racial diversity not be "forced" or anything like that.
Of course. Just in my ideal world most people would love people of the same race.
What would be the point of having diverse races if you weren't able to appreciate the diversity of those races or love those races?

tfw you were a brony but you're fucking man enough to admit it and not internally implode I have no trouble admitting it, although honestly, nobody has ever really brought it up despite the fact that I was pretty vocal about it because, "OOOHHHH I WANT TO BE DIFFERENT!"
It's definitely embarrassing, but I'm not ashamed of it at all. It was a dumb phase, but nobody got hurt and I honestly learned a lot about myself and the kind of person I wanted to be just by reflecting on my involvement in the fad. I'm glad I went through it.
that pretty accurately describes how i feel about it too, actually

ot though i'm not sure what the most embarrassing thing is. i've done some stupid shit accidentally and cringe when i think about those moments . . . i guess the worst was my complete emotional breakdown while i was still at school after finding out i came in 4th place for 3 drum major positions for the second year in a row, meaning i was never gonna be able to do it
that day was shit, and i tried to keep it in but for all that other people did for me . . . for some reason it's embarrassing to think about
on a day-to-day basis i'm not really embarrassed though. i guess i worry about how people perceive my work ethic/schedule though. i think about how they perceive the pattern of my coming into the gym, like: "does this guy work? isn't he a student? he must be part-time." things like that. i'm fully confident about how i spend my time but i can admit to being self-conscious over how others perceive my operation

This reminds me of a certain type of "guilt" or obsession experienced by some electronic musicians. Some musicians feel like they have to start from the very bottom and reinvent the wheel and innovate from there to produce anything new. They feel like they need to sample their own drums, create their own patches, and "invent" their own music theory. Of course, they end up disregarding the fact that they're still relying on audio protocols they did not design, recording technology they did not design, DAWs they did not design, synthesizers they did not design, and, to some extent, and idea of what is "right" in music that was probably influenced by others in spite of their conviction to be different.
It is easier to see beauty in adaptation than to pain yourself searching for the truly original.

Celibate characters. They usually are painted as adhering to it for a reason, and it usually gives them a devotion of sincerity I don't feel from other characters.

Yeah, your engineering degree might pay OK, but you will always be working for someone else. You know, unless you use your engineering degree to initiate a startup. Then again, unless you're the head of any sort of completely independent working body, you're working for someone else, regardless of your degree. Plus, you're never gonna have anything to talk about with anyone who doesn't share your interests, which you need to be able to do when you network. And to what other degree exactly does that not apply? If STEM folks can't speak because the depths of their knowledge go too deep for others to understand, that sounds like a relative advantage to me. Not that it doesn't apply to the knowledge gleaned from other degrees as well. Try opening your mind. Expand your horizons and do something new, and unlike you. If there's one thing you should learn from STEM it's to do exactly that lol Just my advice
thx m8

I like what he says, helping people out is good right? But we can't just keep giving shit away, and I feel he'd totally flop in International affairs. He's seems like he's got no spine tbh
I mean personally I take his actions as demonstrating that he has quite a bit of spine (challenging the most economically and politically powerful people in the nation), but that aside it seems that the rest of the world sees him as a potential world leader.
In what way? If you look at the what's going on in Syria with Russia, diplomacy isn't doing much.
To be honest I'm not really sure personally what the best approach to take with that conflict is, however I'm also not sure what mention of it has to do with determining whether or not Sanders has a spine, relative to either domestic or foreign issues.

I feel like a Sanders presidency would be, at worst, status quo. I generally agree with the direction he wants to go in though so assuming the political game keeps rolling in his favor then it could only be positive. I definitely believe that is better than what any of the other candidates are offering right now.

People will always make up hypotheticals of people being coerced into it but tbh we need to reevaluate if a situation where someone who didn't want to dies is actually worse than someone being forced to live when it is completely agonizing for them.
the sort of terror one would experience before being unwillingly euthanized is not something i'd wish on an innocent. i'd rather see someone who wanted to die be forced to live personally, but generally i agree that euthanization/suicide should be legal.
for someone to be coerced into it they have to be tolerant of the idea to some degree, otherwise they wouldn't advocate it well to a doctor
i was just addressing your point, not the probability/extent to which that would be a prolific issue. like i said, i'm all for euthanasia, but fuck being killed without your consent. what if you were mentally ill and your parents had the final say and you weren't able to effectively communicate? idk now i guess i'm making up hypotheticals but i don't take that sort of scenario as lightly as you do i guess
I think the primary issue is that those are issues that are self resolved rather quickly :^).
Still though do you honestly think it is fair to force your perspective of "all life is worth living" on the most powerless and tortured people in society?
Not through death, which is itself the problem in such a case from my perspective. Again, death having metaphysical implications, I would prefer not to assume that we can understand it from a human perspective. For this reason I think it would be incredibly inhumane to kill someone whose life was otherwise happy and ready to go on. And tbh yeah I think I'm fine forcing it on those who do not want to live. To use a human perspective, we have all had to wait on things we've wanted in life, be those traditional goals/desires or death. Those people will have their deaths eventually, as will we all. I have no problem making them wait longer for the sake of others. I'm still for euthanasia though, just with appropriate checks for safety.
