i've only been on this forum for a week, but i joined the Bungie community six years ago as of last month. i was a freshman in highschool when i started posting on Bungie's forums, and i'm deep into university now. hell fucking yeah i've changed.
i really couldn't tell you what the internet changed and what changed due to puberty and maturing in general, but i wouldn't trade the experience for anything. the people i've met through the bungie forums and the internet in general are still a huge, huge part of my life; i met my closest friends on The Flood almost six years ago and still talk to them every day. it would be impossible to tell you how i've changed, but i'm so terribly glad that the Bungie community and my friends from there were part of it.

a semicolon should break up two independent clauses; they often combine two related clauses better than a period.

no, that's a hella improper use of a semicolon. you want a regular comma if you don't want to reword the sentence.

the instant gratification provided by the internet has conditioned you. it's hard to get into a long book, even though (if you like reading) it's worth it at the end. i guess just try to convince or force yourself to spend more time reading a book, not an internet forum.

a local soft-serve place has black raspberry and maple flavors. i usually mix them because they're both delicious.

Adventures
A Power Pop band I like:
this is some good stuff. i'll definitely look more into Adventures. Silver Sun wasn't bad, either. thanks for the recs!
You're the first person I've met on here that has similar taste in music to me. My youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpgcR1bDJ8HoYMR2RnGxtqg
Where'd you come from?
i guess The Flood originally. i posted on WHU for a bit a couple of years ago, and found this place thru Demonic last week when I went to check if WHU was still alive.
WHU? When did you join the Flood? what were you called?
questions :3
WHU = We Have Unicorns, an off-topic offsite offshoot of Bungie's The Flood I joined Bungie in May of 2009 and started posting on The Flood in July of 2009 under the name I 5ee You. and I go by I5Y on IRC.

Kinoko Teikoku's new album is going to come out this year, which I'm excited to listen to. It's probably going to be more pop-y like Fake World Wonderland was, but I'd love it if they swung back into shoegaze like Eureka and Uzu ni Naru.
other than that, i haven't paid much attention to what has or will be coming out this year.
Could you give me a quick list of shoegazey-like bands you listen to?
most of the shoegaze i listen to is more on the dreampop side than the post-rock side.
my fave is Asobi Seksu, especially their album Citrus. i also really like Whirr, Manon Meurt, Broken Little Sister, and Slowdive. also Lykke Li (entirely on the dreampop side) and Mass of the Fermenting Dregs (entirely on the post-rock side) deserve a mention.
I'm going to check those out... Whirr is the only one I've listened to. They're great. Have you heard Adventures? They're on the same label as Whirr. Which reminds me I've got to add them to the OP.
Do you like much Power Pop? Jangle Pop?
i haven't heard of Adventures. i'll give them a listen, though. and i don't really know any power pop or jangle pop, but i'm sure there's some that i like.

except not right now, because apparently i'm a member now.
what's your motivation for this? give me an insight into the creative process
it would be kinda funny and ironic, i guess. i don't really like custom titles.

LOL YOU WON'T GET PAID FOR STUDYING AND INTERNING ANYTHING OTHER THAN STEM.
tfw in stem and still not getting paid. dept of chemistry doesn't allow chemistry undergrads to be paid for the research they do because it is work towards their undergraduate thesis...
