I recommend a journal. I figured out what really pissed me off by recording and processing it on paper.
It's some of the most cringeworthy stuff to go back over, though.
I had a journal like that, but instead of recording what pissed me off, i recorded my fears in life and everything i wanted to say to one of my ex's. If i look at it now i think i'll die from cringing.

my favorite band of all time, Europe, is coming to MS. ever since i was 11 i worshiped them. especially the guitarist, John Norum. they only came to the united states twice in the last 30 yrs(they're from sweden)

As others have stated already, it was more a writing and directional issue. Even great actors like Samuel L. Jackson gave a somewhat underwhelming performance.
Hayden is great in his other movies. There's even a recent rumor he'll show up as a spooky ghost in Episode 8, which would be cool.
