New member coming up, maybe?

Also, I see that you sport the nameplate that I made. Im glad that you like it.
Edit: not anymore, apparently. I guess you were trying how it fit.
I was trying them all out. Yours looks fine, by the way.

I actually bookmarked this a while back, when "iwhbyd.net" was in your B.net motto instead of Sep7agon. I thought I'd go and check it out, so just remember people, I was there before you did.
I actually used B.next to squash some bugs and make improvements when it was in Beta, so there's a chance some of you guys know of it from that as well.

Just a tip in case you didn't know: servers check for index.html (or .php or whatever) before anything else. If you don't want the list of files to appear, rename your first page index.html.

So it's Tinyurl?
Yup. It started as an exercise and then morphed into that custom-page maker. Obviously TinyURL is going to be the way to go if you want to shorten your URLs.

Is there a reason HTML is not allowed for the page?
Exploits. BBCode is allowed to a degree to give you some formatting, but yeah...allowing unchecked code is not a good idea.
Aw, considering I'm learning HTML 5 along with CSS it would certainly be nice practice.
Psh. Those are client side, so all you really need is a browser and a text editor to try them out and mess around.
Already do, but having it actually on the internet at no cost to me would be nice.
Well shit, I can give you a tiny subdomain of one of mine for you to fuck with if you're trying to learn this stuff.
Really? That would be great and all, but I wouldn't want to impose, especially if its any trouble for you.
Dude. It doesn't take hardly any effort on my part. I'll get you set up while you download FileZilla (if you don't already have it).
Thanks Cheat I appreciate it, would the FileZilla be better or the client version?
Client version is what you want. I'll PM you the login details.

EDIT: Forgot, your URL for the site is http://burn.blue/yutaka

I don't get it.

I'm not a nerd.
It takes really long, complex URLs (http://example.com/fucking/long/492-02348/uRL.html) and shortens them into smaller URLs so it's easier to remember them and write them down (http://iwhbyd.net/example).

It also allows you to quickly, and without registering, create a password protected web page that is hosted on IWHBYD.

IWHBYD.net

It's another one of my programming projects that I whipped up in a weekend. Basically, it shortens URLs and allows you to create text-based web pages (go to the site and click custom page at the bottom).

If blinding white isn't your speed and you want to use the site to post your fanfic to or something, then go edit your page and enter in cheatyinyang into the URL field. As long as your password is correct, when the page refreshes you'll have a nice dark color to work with.

Just something for you guys to chew on if you'd like. I'd also like some suggestions/bug reports as well.

I just got an email back from support about the issue with the slow load times and the error message that I thought I had to share with you guys (in part). I'm not experiencing the error anymore and the load times are back to a reasonable speed, so I thought I should share it with you.

Thank you for contacting support,

First off, nice looking forum.  I was able to get a small reprieve from work by enjoying the content of your forums for a few minutes while testing the load times and speed.  Everything seemed find from this end. I will say that because of the server issues we were experiencing it very well could still be related to that.  If the issues are not cleared up by tomorrow we can continue to look into this further.  One of the best ways to get something resolved, if our call queues are not too high, is to call in and speak to a live technician when you see these problems occurring.  If you can see these problems, there is a high possibility you will not be the only one they are happening for.  If our technician sees the problem they will be able to trouble shoot further.  Again, since we did have an issue with the servers I would give it a little more time to see if it returns to normal, as that may be all the trouble shooting needed.  I work tomorrow, and if this is not taken care of by the afternoon, when I work, I will personally look into this for you further.  (I am also going to check out Fate/Zero as I am genuinely interested to find new things to watch)

Have a great day, and hopefully everything will be fixed soon.

So thanks for writing that review up, Yutaka. The review thing is working!

I don't really mind all that much. It was a really good deal and the occasional glitching is entertaining when I'm trying to enter in the Wi-Fi password and my iPad decides it needs more spaces and a few random symbols.

You've reset the device completely right? I had my iPod freak out once and I just reset the firmware and DIDN'T restore from backup and it fixed my interface freaking out. You probably have already but I though I should just bring it up just in case.
Yeah, it's been updated before. It maybe happens...every 1 out of 30 uses, so it's not occurring often enough or long enough for me to throw it.

If it was new when I bought it, I would have been pissed. But it clearly said user refurbished, so...

Or we could just get rid of the ego stroking circle jerking that is nameplates and forum ranks and create a more egalitarian forum that judges it's users based on their post content as opposed to some arbitrary in group status.  I know I'm going to get lynched for posting this but oh well.
I almost completely concur.
All of these things should stay, but on b.old rank meant nothing.

The circle Jerk didn't begin until you got to Mythic, and that's really the way it should be, IMO.
Why bother locking these options to people of lower rank?
It just makes people get butthurt and start hating on each other, and means that the general quality of discussion is lower, purely because people are belting out comments so fast because they just have to get to Heroic, and they must get 3000 posts.

A better forum has less competition.
But not none. Competition breeds activity and discussion.

It's possible (and maybe even probable) that in the future the entire "customization" suite that we have here will be moved to a more "coup-like" state, where users must opt into seeing custom nameplates and colors, but they would be available to everyone who has ranked up to Member at 25 posts.

eBay has pretty good deals, especially around the new iPhone release. If you're smart about who you buy from there, you can find good used products.

But sometimes they're shit. I bought a seller-refurbished iPad mini off of eBay, and at first it worked amazingly. After a while, though, it would start to misbehave and register touches when I wasn't doing anything. I could open up Notes and the iPad would just start to type nonsense and occasionally spaz out and crash out of the app.

Damn. Yeah I try to not take risks like that. My local news station has a "Classifieds" section that is like Craigslist in a way so I usually buy used through that service. My friend had a similar issue with her new iPhone so it probably wasn't the sellers fault, but it does suck that the screen went to fritz.

I always buy from Apple, except for my phone. That was from Verizon and was cheaper, but with a contract. I'm not the one that's paying for the service so all I ended up paying for is the phone really.

Thanks for the link to this page btw.

I'm a fan of technology and buy what I can if it fits my needs. Apple is a pretty decent brand so I try to buy things for as cheap as I can without gimping on things.

I personally don't like the iPhone and I'm not sure if they sell refurbished iPhones but when it comes to iPads, Macs, and iPods they sell them in that version of the store for cheaper mind you they are refurbished. I bought my Macbook Pro through the refurbished store and it looked and felt brand new.

I know. However. I choose not to Jailbreak my phone, as I already have another iOS device that's already jailbroken.

Damn. I can't live without a whole bunch of changes to my iPod. I haven't used a non jailbroken iDevice in a while.

I NEED:
Bloom HD Theme (Winterboard).
f.lux
Gridlock
iFile
Infinidock
NoStoreButton
ShowCase
statusvol
SwipeSelection

Do you even tweak bro?

Yes. Most of the tweaks slow down my shit however. The iPod I have is 4th gen. I need an upgrade. Thinking about getting an iPad with iOS 7.1.2 on it.
As soon as the new iPhones drop, I predict more than a few used iPads going on the market (especially the mini). With the iPhone 6 plus screen closing the gap between old iPhone screens and the iPad mini, many people might find the old tablets a bit useless.

You have a game, movie, tv show, or other kind of review? How about an article on something interesting? Submit the link to it here or simply post it in a new thread and tell me about it.

If it's good, it'll be moved to "News" and be on the front page. Make sure you include an image so your topic stands out.

What kind of system would be better than the current one, in your opinion?

The Prefix system has gone through two overhauls and several minor tweaks, and it's pretty stable right now. It takes multiple variables into account, including time online, post count, and several different combinations of Trust (positive vs negative).

I'm sure it could be exploited, but what system couldn't be? The rewards for reaching high rating don't change your posting permissions or give you extra powers; they're just extra eye candy for your posts.

MOTHERFUCKER!!!!

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.

FUCK YOU JOBS I HOPE YOU ARE SUCKING SATAN'S COCK IN HELL!!!

My iPhone just went into recovery mode after "An Unknown Error prevented iTunes from updating your phone."

WHOA! Calm you ass down. The fuck did you do? You can get out of recovery mode, and if you don't know how, you probably should have never invested in an iPhone. -_-

And unless you were to get iOS 8 way before it was out, why the fuck would you use iTunes to update it? You can update it over the air!
Updating over the air makes it difficult for Jailbreaks to take hold. Most of the time, if you have an iOS that you've updated without a computer, trying to Jailbreak it will just brick the phone.

Luckily, I realized that iOS 8 was coming out today before I went to bed last night, so I was able to update my 7.0.4 version to 7.1.2, which is the last iOS that is jailbreakable.

I don't think Charile was trying to Jailbreak his device, but yeah, Jailbreaking is quite advanced. Unless it's from the Envasion team, you have to set the device to DFU mode, that can trigger Recovery mode if you hold it for too long.

As for iOS 8, it shouldn't cause a bricking. Believe me I've done my research before getting iOS 8 early.
It wasn't Evasion that made the last jailbreak, which is different from the norm. And DFU mode isn't needed (and hasn't been, since Redsn0w, I believe). The only thing you have to do is switch your time and date to allow the hack to take advantage of an exploit.
