So you want the forum like /b/ ?

Fuck that
I guess it would be like /b\, huh.
I think you're going to really enjoy Anarchy, to be honest. ;)

Declaimer: None of these are directed to cheat or his superb ability to conjure up these rules, just criticizing and giving my opinion on the rules its self. I honestly find it retarded that I have to add this declaimer. Ugh. Anyway agree? Disagree with me?
What the fuck...

I'm not that much of a jerk that I'd ban you for criticizing the rules. That last rule is there as a catch all for any offences I forgot or hadn't realized we needed until they were brought up.

Because they're annoying, distracting, and get people raging. It's hard to have a discussion when someone's calling someone else a twat.

Graphic content is allowed, so long as it's relevant to the discussion, it's not being posted for the sake of posting it, and it's encapsulated in a spoiler that clearly warns other users about what it contains. Not everyone likes looking at that kind of stuff.

I regret ever watching the first 30 seconds of that music video. Good god.
It's the first pop video I almost watched twice in a long, long time. Just because... booty :(

that shit is total manipulation of the male mind for money
I was thinking the same thing.

Happy to have you here, and of course I'm interested in seeing what kind of word skills you have

Thanks! Sorry it took so long to respond. I believe our admin, Mendicant Bias, said that you could use some of our articles for the Sep7agon (if I'm not mistaken), and you could check out some of the articles I've written personally if you'd like to investigate.

I'd also have no problem writing articles specifically for the Sep7agon, if that ever comes to be an option.
Any and all articles are welcome; all you have to do is post them in the appropriate forum and I'll move them to the front page once they come to my attention.

I still have to work on setting up the "Writer" privileges for News. :o
Wait, privileges? I thought they would only get a special nameplate or something like that.
They'd be able to add articles automatically without waiting to have them moved; that's the only privilege.

When Nuka inevitability bans me for the smallest thing, I expect a thread just like this for me. And if I knew one of you sauerkraut got banned, I too would make a thread - just, like, this one.
I don't wield the banhammer, but you know exactly what I meant when I said you're gone the moment you try any of the shit you pulled on b.lind

What did he do? I'm curious.
Personal attacks.

Really? Over what?

This guy used to be chill.
I was just reading from the ban log; I wasn't the one to do the deed.

The Flood / Re: Is Anarchy coming back?
« on: September 21, 2014, 10:45:01 PM »
It's coming back. I had first planned on having it every 7th of the month, but it's more of a weekend thing to me, so we're sticking with that.

The next round starts October 3rd, early in the morning. I've packed a pretty substantial extra feature into that forum that should help with the chaos, so be excited.

I'll be getting it with my one... So I guess it's worth it by November? More expansions?
Expansions are not a good thing though. They obviously took shit out of the story and are going to add it in as DLC, because the story in the game is non existent.
I just bought a copy used off of eBay after playing through the Beta portions of the beginning of the game yesterday and today.

I definitely won't be buying any of the paid DLC. No expansion pass; no added campaigns. I figure this game will tide me over until MCC comes out, which will then keep me occupied until Halo 5.

This place is too small for a mute system, I still refuse to use the mute feature on b.net

Opposed it in the old community mute threads, oppose it now. Who was right about moderation turning to shit if there was a mute feature? This guy.

I will admit I have muted some shock link spammers though....lol
A lot of people wanted it and the variable that keeps track of the ignore list was already there by default, so it was implemented. It's just one of those things that if you don't like it, don't use it. The posts aren't completely hidden like on B.lind; the spoiler tells you whose post is hidden and it takes a single click to open it up.

And I think this thread should have been in Support or something.

Gaming / Re: Halo: MCC Info Thread ( Gungoose Gameplay Update )
« on: September 21, 2014, 05:44:54 PM »
The Gungoose looks kinda overpowered.
It does look more powerful than the ghost, but it's still balanced due to the movement of it. The ghost is able to spin around in a circle in the same spot unlike this thing which doesn't have that field of movement. It's limited to wheels which means in order to attack something behind it it has to turn around which takes time. The ghosts on the other hand can simply slow down and do a tight turn. The other thing is that this is far less stable than the ghost at high speeds going over things.
I wonder if this is being added to all of the games in MCC. 343i has a unique opportunity here; they can inject whatever they'd like into the maps before launch and it'll load just fine since everyone will have the updated/modded .map files.

EDIT: extra armor could be added as well.

If the Bungie Chest doesn't show up in Halo 3 because of this, that's gonna blow.
I don't know if they were able to increase how well the engine could handle resources, but I do know that one of the reasons Bungie didn't have the Flame head on for everyone was because the fire was pretty draining to render.

But yeah, they should have had the foresight to make enabling it possible at least.

That's a pretty lame excuse because the game ran fine on Bungie Day 2010. Especially with 16 people wearing the Bungie chest. No lag, no problem.

Flame texture =/= Frame rate drop.

I found out the real reason why they didn't release it to everyone because they didn't want everyone's Septogon emblem to be replaced with "Bungie" as a flair because it can't be turned off, and according to Urk. They used custom code to enable it on a timer for Bungie day, and supposedly they feared that the game would break if they permanently released it because they wouldn't be able to fix it after they lose the rights if a problem came up because MS sucks donkey dick for owning the IP rights.

It's always been possible to enable flames, and people who have Jtagged already know how to unlock it without having the "Bungie" flair interfere with it either.

I know this isn't easy shit, but I rather have a risk taken that can create compile errors for Halo 3 because I'm certain it's not that hard to undo the changes.

I've broken my own games, but I've managed to always fix them somehow. It's all part of learning.

Edit: Actually, there is ANOTHER reason why it's not released. Rendering has nothing to do with it. If you enable the flames and you pick up Camouflage, you're still exposed. It changes the gameplay for good.

I wouldn't mind having it because I don't like Camouflage anyway. It's hasn't really helped me anyway.
Thats the beauty of the MCC, though. They could take the flame chest armor, clone it to a custom armor set that they inject, and then remove flame textures when active camo is on. No need to worry about the nameplate link.

And the excuse was just the one I heard; it's not such a stretch, considering how easily the framerate can drop in that game on Sandtrap with the Scarab.

Serious / Re: How many genders do you recognize?
« on: September 21, 2014, 04:00:53 PM »
What you mean?
You know exactly what I mean, but I guess I will waste my time explaining it anyway. There are two sexes, male and female, which are dependent upon what sexual organs you are born with. Gender, something that is entirely different than sex, is determined by what you identify as, and there are numerous genders, because gender is a spectrum.
Even that's not true 100% of the time. There are variations and 'errors' that produce a person with strange chromosomal or genital combinations.

I'd say it's naive to believe gender is a strict binary when the more concrete sex isn't always so.

Septagon / Re: BBcode for embedding WebM files?
« on: September 21, 2014, 01:27:52 AM »
There is no such thing for BBCcode, as far as I know.
But there is!
I have seen it elsewhere.
It's the same concept as embedding a .avi or .mp4 file.
BBCode is a local "language," unlike HTML. BBCode is always converted into something else in order for the browser to understand it. Here, with the SMF software, there's not such a code.
Could we create, or find, the translation for that, and add it to the program that converts it?
Maybe; the problem is that there are so many different formats for embedding videos. We'd have to install each one separately. Allowing unrestricted HTML is a huge security risk.

I would be willing to try to get <video> tags enabled, which is one of the new elements in HTML5. You'd be able to embed any video that you have the source of.

In the linked thread, Ryle asked Cheat to make the default font wingdings.
Quote
element.style {

^^^^Actual quote from the CSS two minutes ago.
Look what you just quoted...

element.style is the style directly embedded into HTML (it's the stuff you can poke with firebug or inspect element, as in style="border: 1px solid #FFFFFF;").

The global style is located in body {}. You're either fooling everyone, or are massively confused.

Maybe if Cheat has the time for it, since he has a life and has to spend his spare time fixing things on here, he could add in a couple of other color themes for people to use.

There's a change he might be busy with a commissioned project come Monday.
I will be all week, yes.
