I don't think anyone has reached the top post rank yet. No one's reached Mythic++ for sure.

Moving this to The Flood until you can make an OP with more than two words in it. Link sources or make an argument.

Septagon / Re: I Want MY Special Treatment

Isn't the person supposedly receiving special treatment banned?

Not anymore, and they also weren't here to complain about that thread, either. I've spoken with them, and they made it clear they were done with this site for mistreating them, and I can't blame them.
She's still banned for 4 days.

Cheat told me different. Another problem with this site, you get a different story from every mod.
Well then he didn't check how long she had left, not every mod is going to be counting the days for every ban.
Actually Yu, the user's posts have been visible for the past couple of days.
During a blacklist the posts are supposed to be blocked like Cam's above, but they aren't, indicating that the user isn't banned anymore
Slash appealed and asked to be able to see the forum, so I made his and Noelle's ban the lesser version that allows them to read posts. Both are still banned.

2353
Yeah, sure, as long as you link them and don't embed them. I think anyone's computer would crash if you posted 3000 pictures at wallpaper size. :P

« on: May 02, 2015, 12:15:54 AM »
I suppose I should explain, since I assume Camnator will go running to Bnet to tell everyone how corrupt I am.

Camnator was banned for abusing the report button as well as insulting a couple members. Since his last non-requested ban was a month long, this ban is permanent and he won't be back. It's really kind of a bummer, because I talked with him on Bungie and he seemed to turn into a completely different person once he started back here. I didn't want it to have to go this way and I'm sure it may seem suspicious, given his parading around about moderator bias and corruption, but he did break more than one rule and the ban was warranted.
Ah well, if he broke rules he broke rules.

He did seem okay actually....I warned him to just chill. Sad that he snapped.

*sips tea*
Not that I wasn't tempted; I had actually pushed the "Judge" button last night...

Meta's shouldn't have been locked or deleted, it was literally banter. I understand Noel is giant fucking crybaby, but if I made a thread taking the piss out of Gatsby for being arab, it would stay up.

Your thread could have probably just been a reply. I personally wouldn't of locked it, but eh, definitely shouldn't have been deleted.
I removed it because it was clearly not in a joking manor and had nothing to discuss. I know there has been talk of selective moderation and favoritism, but that thread really had to go (and the continuation Comms made too).

If it wasn't in a joking manner then revive the thread temporarily to prove it. You're wrong. Have you even LOOKED at the thread? Or are you going off one of the butt buddy's word?
Turns out Noelle has an aggressive side
    YouTube

That was literally the entirety of the OP. I feel the removal was warranted and won't be restoring the topic, sorry.

Your rules state obvious jokes are allowed. How is that not obvious? Still, that doesn't explain why mine was deleted.
I've included the rules for you and highlighted the important part.

    Quote
      1. Personal Attacks/Harassment/Private Information (Strict Moderation)
      • Moderators will no longer automatically be editing out reported personal attacks in a “one-size-fits-all” manner. Instead, we will be looking at the context of the attack to determine the best course of action.

It had no discussion value and was malicious toward a member here, so yes, it was taken down.

One gave me 29 and another 21 and all I did was slightly turn my head. This thing seems inaccurate as fuck.
      It is.

You look younger than 20 even....

      >__________>
Might be the dark circles, since it looks like I have black eyes all the time, I don't know. One of the reviewers for that web app said it rated his daughter as 30-something, so...

I think they need to tighten a few bolts or hit it with a wrench or something.
Maybe they should just throw a grenade at it since the whole thing is very clearly broken. It told me that I look like I'm 54.
I really wish I could find this one photo analyzer web app I used once. It would give your age and gender in percentages (I suppose how "sure" it was) and also measure distance and the tilt/angle of your face. Can't find it anywhere now, though. :(

There's also only been one report total today, so if I'm checking in on reports and don't see anything then I'm going to assume that everything is daijobu.
I'm constantly reporting things, but I left Comms' threads alone to see what would happen, seeing as they were on the top of page one of the Flood for hours and it should be standard procedure at this point to check Comms' threads antway given that the mods are well aware of his posting habits.
Hmm...well it looks like none of the mods were around to see it. I know I wasn't. I got on and deleted a few threads in the flood and noticed that there weren't any reports. I hadn't had a chance to enter many of the front page threads, but nothing stood out to me, so I didn't rush to check them.

I mean, I guess if you're going to make the mods go through every thread themselves, yeah, there will probably be shitty moderation just from lack of resources. But I'd hope that you would hit that report button and help us out so that threads like this don't need to be made.

      The report button exists
from what I understand, reporting something doesn't guarantee moderator action
It guarantees a moderator will look at it, though.
Just seeing it doesn't indicated action will be taken, for example, Chronic has said he doesn't like moderating.
So the chances of him doing anything are slim.
And what if he's the only one active during that time?
It's ok to let the rule breaking continue until someone willing to do the job appears?
No, you're right. For one reason or another, the moderator may choose to not take action and leave the report up. The mod could be conflicted about what to do or need someone else's opinion or any other number of things.
Diverting from the fact of one mod being set on not taking action is quite funny.

But you're right that a mod may need a second opinion, however, from talking to a few of the mods, most can't seem to act WITHOUT second opinion, which is completely wrong.
There's a reason we have set rules that are quite clear-cut. And that's not so mods can spend time discussing over something that clearly violates the rules while leaving the offending user/post/thread free until they're finished.
It's not often that it happens. Most of the back and forth between the mods when the offense is clear and obvious is announcing what we're doing just to let the mod squad know.

And generally, when there is uncertainty, the thread isn't left alive. It's locked or moved to HQ, as has been the case a few times.

It guarantees a moderator will look at it, though. We have to open up the list of reported posts (where it shows the contents of those posts that have been reported) in order to close or ignore the report. So it's basically impossible for reports to be unseen.
