Official Community Feedback

Ahead of the upcoming moderation poll, the Sep7agon staff would like to offer the community an open-forum to discuss their problems with anything site related - moderation style, the staff team, layout, forums, design, etc. This, along with the poll, will help to give us an idea as to what direction the site will go.

Although this is an open-forum and all critique and complaints are allowed, there are a couple rules...

• No attacking others, period. This is meant to be a constructive thread, not a venue to berate others who have different beliefs for the site.
• Staff members, aside from LC, Psy, and myself are asked to refrain from commenting/replying for clarity's sake.
• Try to condense everything into one post - if you can, edit in future points to that existing post so that we may have some form of organization

More consistency would be nice. Also, overhauling the settings for our profiles would do wonders.

Weren't we supposed to get an update to the forum banners a while back? What happened to those?

We need more Anarchy. It's damn fun and it's produced some of the best laughs we've ever had here.

Also, overhauling the settings for our profiles would do wonders.

To expand on this, I find it bothersome how all the settings are spread out.

Your option to change your name is located in the account settings section
Your section for putting on avatars is located in the forum profile section
And then look and layout contains the part for your custom nameplate, colors, ect.

Those things should all be put into the same section rather than spread out.

I'll add more into this tomorrow, going to sleep now.

If you'd like to see how i would put the options together, I've made a weird document classifying them to groups. We could improve on it

First of all, get rid of the monitors, bring in new mods.
Chances are, if you had more staff members that are actually useful, the whole spoiler fiasco wouldn't have been a thing because there would've been mods on hand to deal with reports.

The rules are fine, I'd prefer them to be stricter, but at this point you've tied your hands by letting the forum grow without being strict, so changing that now would cause a drop in activity.

As for site design, what Zen said.

A) Bring anarchy back. I don't see why it was removed.

B) I know it's a priority, but still. Mobile site. The current one is slow and hard to use on mobile. I use it a lot, more than the desktop version so I can go more in depth if you want.

C) I think it's wierd that some usesers are banned from serious when others aren't. I don't really want to call anyone out (Mainly because I can't think of anyone now. It's more of an as and when I see them kind of thing), but it seems really inconsistent.

D) I don't think psy should be a mod. He uses dirty REEEEEod bot tricks on Metro, and he's not trustworthy.

Change the mail icon to somewhere else on mobile site. Already been mentioned before, but noteworthy.

Iconsistency in the rules regarding avatars/images and text posts. While images have to removed/spoilered if above PG13 or offensive in some manner, anything we say isn't. Personally I want the "it's allowed as long as it isn't illegal" stance.

move the notification button, make it bigger

I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for.

And there is nothing wrong with REEOD bots <_<

Only thing that comes to mind is the PM icon on mobile requires you to click the septagon in order for you to see if you have any PMs. I've missed PMs due to it, "out of sight, out of mind."

I'm pretty good with everything so far.

More customization on profiles would be nice, like setting up signature backrounds or something, or getting rid of the border on nameplates. Other than that i'm good

I think that the monitor position should be temporary and use it to see if members are worthy of being a mod. There should also be a crack down on some of the shitposting;

Other than that I don't really have any concerns except why the site is sluggish. 

Also, you should fix the notify button. I hate getting emails from a thread that I didn't hit the button on.

Moderation/Layout-wise, I don't really have any feedback to give. It seems pretty good to me. My only problem is the site seems to take an eternity to load with adblock disabled. What's up with that?

Edit: I'm no longer having to wait half a minute for my computer to load the Ads before the page allows scrolling. Never mind.
