You think Halo 5 is going to have a separate campaign like AVP 2010?

For the trailers as you know there's one for each character. There's the one about Locke walking up to the Chief and the Chief has one that's reversed. Because of that you think there's going to be a duel campaign where each character has a separate one? For Alien VS Predator 2010 each of the three characters have their own campaign. It's different from each other but it takes place at the same locations at different times and sometimes involves each other. For the Xeno the predator you inpregnated you end up fighting as the Predator.

I imagine it would probably be something like how it swaps between Arby n Chief in Halo 2. But they could do more you never know.

idk
I just hope they differentiate between playing as Chief and Locke in terms of gameplay.

Like, Chief has an inferior iteration of MJOLNIR than Locke does, and Locke has superior armour as well as being backed by ONI.

I neither fear, nor despise.
I think they are just going to copy Bungie's playbook

>2nd game in series
>character swapping campaign
>the Arbiter is in this 2nd installment when he wasn't in the first

Is MC in gen2 armor by the end of halo 4?

No, he's still using MKVI MJOLNIR. Locke and the rest of the S-IVs use GEN-2.

Same here. I hate the the Arbiter is basically a MC clone. Sure your allies are different but you're still killing the same enemies and bound by the same gameplay. The stealth aspect to him should have been more in depth.

I'm actually wondering if it'll be a trifecta campaign. Chief/Locke/Arbiter.

Although my money's on Chief/Lcoke. Arbiter seems to have shifted into a pivotal role as a leader type character now.

But I really hope that 343 uses an opportunity like that to their advantage. If you had a trifecta or dual character campaign, 343 could have a really good chance to show us other sides of what's going on in the Haloverse.

There's a lot of very blurred lines right now story wise and in canon-timewise.

Alien and Human lines are starting to merge and we're seeing locations and places that are different from what we've come to know before.

Capitalist Elites.
Human/Alien joint colonies.
Various factions of Elites.
Various factions of Humans.

Chief takes to the far out, stellar alien battlefields in immense scope and size.

Locke takes to mixed species colony slums or cities in search of paper trails after Chief. Stealth and grime.

Arby takes to fighting his own kin and trying to work with the UNSC to come out on top as a leader for his species. Alien viewpoint and deeper look into mysteries on the alien side of things.

343 has all the fucking potential here.

If they took half of the stuff they keep putting into comics and books, and made mini-campaigns out of them from various different viewpoints in the universe, with different styles of gameplay, Halo could expand into so much great territory beyond neccessarily a rigid first person shooter.

God I hope they do something new and outside the box. Show us other places than actual battlefields where those lines blur.

In short; 343 have drastically improved the Halo universe and you want to see them explore it via their games.

I feel as if it'd be wiser to start producing spin-offs, not tied to Chief. That would enable freedom to truly take advantage of all this.

Alternating every level perhaps? I would prefer the Halo 2 model. Maybe starting three levels as Chief, two as Locke, two more as Chief, etc.. Lets just not end on a Locke level  :)

Halo 5's campaign will be about Master Chief fighting mechas in the desert of some planet while the in-game dialogue simply screams "BUY THE BOOKS!" and it will be the first Halo game to have a character break the fourth wall.

Spoiler
Agent Locke
I AM TIRED OF THESE MOTHERFUCKING PLOTHOLES IN THIS MOTHERFUCKING GAME!

Exactly. You have all these mini stories that you could tell not related to the chief. You have all this untapped potential.

Those mini-story installations could be what Spops failed to live up to. Except slower paced in being released. Like free DLC expansions that could be worked on by a small dedicated team.

It would, truly flesh out the Haloverse, flesh out and give 343 room to be creative, and it would still appease M$ about sticking solely to the Chief.

Alternatively they could not be assholes and produce sequels to ODST and Wars, and tell more stories with separate Reach-esque spin-offs. MS has the money and enough people to do it easily, why not take inspiration from Marvel's approach? (Only less extreme)

Halo wise due to the power of the Xbone I hope we have real space battles that are on a larger scale than Battlefront 2. The two we had in Reach are a complete joke. Every ship you fought was scripted as hell. In Battlefront 2 the ships acted a lot more fluently they moved randomly instead of on a path.

I hear ya. I played the shit out of battlefront and I can tell you that even though the AI couldn't land a gunship in a hangar without crashing, and pulled stupid shit out of nowhere, they were still unpredictable as hell. Reach, while being extremely familiar in regards to the space fight, a very familiar feeling, the AI weren't challenging.

I was honestly surprised when people in co-op campaign matchmaking would die from either crashing or just failing to combat the AI.

I jumped into the Sabre and my battlefront instincts kicked in immidiately.

Same here. When I did the campaign on legendary I had very little trouble with the space parts. I died more times playing BF2 space battles on Elite than I did with Reach. Once you get out of the path zones you can restroe your shields.

I can see it now, the ending of Halo 5. Locke and Chief just staring at each other, a few close ups of their helmets, and then fade to black. Oh well, better buy the next game to see what happens. All that build up and they don't even interact in the game probably.

It'd be interesting if Locke actually played like an ONI agent, instead of just a Chief clone which I'm sure we'll end up seeing. Have it like a mix between ODST and Halo 4. Similar to what they did with the Arbiter.
