MK7 and X&Y are both trash. FE is weeb trash, but a decent game if you're into that.

Everything else is great, though I wouldn't bother with MH4U since Generations will be released soon.

A Link Between Worlds is the best all-around game on the system.

XY/ORAS are perfectly fine. Don't listen to the fag above me.

Then there's Smash, if you have no plans or interest in the Wii U version.

Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D are good choices if you've yet to play either of them.

Hyrule Warriors literally makes the Wii-U version redundant, it might be worth checking out

Kid Icarus Uprising, Xenoblade Chronicles, Hyrule Warriors, Pokemon X or Y (would not recommend Omega Ruby, but if you haven't played any of the DS games, get Gen 4 and 5), then maybe some eShop stuff like Shovel Knight, Binding of Isaac and Earthbound

Shouldn't I get MH4U because Generations will be released? Shouldn't I get MH4, then MH4U and generations?

I don't get why I should skip MH4U in favour of a newer game, but then again, I don't know how that franchise is story-wise. Reason tells me to get the games that came before it though.

I didn't know about eShop

Earthbound and Shovel Knight look good. I've already played BoS though

MH4U is the same as 4, but with additional content. No reason to get both.

These games demand a lot of invested time, so it'll be a long while before you're even ready to move onto MHG if you start with 4U. MH4 kept me occupied for well over a year with 1000+ hours, though that's mostly thanks to online coop. There's no continuity with the series and the online community will drop quite significantly.

I suppose it's up to you, but I see no reason to play 4U with Generations so close to release.

YouTube

Seems like buying the 3ds will bring me back to the days when I played Nintendo games at my best friend's house when we were 5-9, only minus the environment surrounding the games, or input from him. I remember that I tried lying about my skills for the first time and it paying off. He was stuck in some underwater boss battle in some Mario game, and I told him that I had beaten it before somewhere many times(details are a bit fuzzy). I think he believed me, or maybe he was just desperate, and so when I beat the boss very easily I just sat there looking confused as to what my next action would be. I had expected a failure, and him saying something to which I was gonna confess, but it didn't go that way. I think I told him that it was my first time in the end.

No Chrono Trigger?

I thought you were a big fan of that game

Chrono Trigger doesn't have a 3DS version, but if you can get the DS Chrono Trigger, that's good too

I'm inviting everything that works with the 3DS. I'll change the OP, so please post good games for the DS as well

Mario 3D Land is enjoyable, but hardly ever a challenge.

Link Between Worlds is fantastic.

Luigi's Mansion is a ton of lighthearted fun.

DK Country is a pretty good and challenging platformer.

SSB4 is mandatory.

My roommates swear by MH4U and Fire Emblem.
