including fan-favourites like Halo 5: Guardians

Since when was Halo 5 a "fan-favourite"? Anyway this feature I find to be bullshit due to us already paying a subscription fee for Gold. I know this is separate but it still should be included in the unnecessary high subscription fee we're already paying in order to play online.

I like how some of the best xbox games they highlight is Payday 2 (xbox version), Halo 5, NBA and Fable 3

I wonder if it will actually be worth it and what sort of time periods it will be available for (1 / 3 / 6 / 12 months)

It could be a way to save money if they will include the latest games - pretty worthless if its only old games.

It just seems like xbox exclusives and old games that desparately need a playerbase boost.

It would have been such a great game if they didn't fuck up the story so much - and also if forge and custom lobbies was available at launch. Just three things but they cost this game everything.

And also if the map designs were good
And also if the campaign level design was less bland
And also if there was proper BTB support
And also if there were no microtransactions
And also if the very act of aiming a weapon didn't feel off and really weird
And also if the menus weren't horrifically laid out
And also if they gave us better armour designs
And also if they let us customise more than two things at once
And also if the soundtrack wasn't so meh
And also if the vehicle play was anything more than token
And also if there was a proper progression system worth doing
And also if it had more than five gametypes on launch
And also if they didn't include spartan abilities
And also if the game was just generally not awful

The story was far from the only thing bad about H5

How many games are actually worth this on this platform?

From the ones in the picture, zero

I thought that was what Games with Gold was for.

Or I guess that was meant for XB1 and X360 games that needed the attention and never got it.

So... adding just a not-awful story wouldn't have made it 'great'. It would have made it barely passable.
