I'd expand more if I wasn't on mobile right now.

Essentially, Chief doesn't send the rest of Blue Team to Reach with the other Spartans. 4 player Blue Team co-op for Halo 1.

Halo 2 has the same story, but allows for the new 4 player co-op staple of the franchise. Fred dies.

Halo 3 has roughly the same story, just told better. Arby replaces Fred as a member of Blue Team.

Halo 4, idk. I'll see when I can access a computer >.>

I would probably make the covenant have different goals. Maybe still religion based but probably make them more serious and less like cartoon villians. Make the UNSC more realistic with more realistic technology, but probably keep the same personality that the marines had in the original trilogy because that was always fun. More emphasis on the war aspect rather then being "LOL SHOOT ALIENS". And some how, wrap a really good sci fi story in it that doesn't get retarded like it did after Halo: CE. So yea, Halo except dark and edgy. Tastes like good Halo.

I'd probably make it grittier. It was essentially Loony Toons on the part of the games. I'd take the opportunity that the Arbiter levels presentd to delve more into the Covenant's culture. I'd give the Covenant a better reason to go to war with Humanity than "lol jk for teh evul". I'd have multiple perspectives within the games, so even though the Master Chief and the Arbiter would be the protagonists, we'd get a broader view of the war.

Keep CE the same. Maybe add just a little Covenant backstory.

Add all the stuff Halo 2 was originally going to have campaign-wise so the outcome of Halo 3 changes. Keep the Arbiter levels and whatnot.

Drastically change Halo 3's story so you don't get the story 3/4 of the way into the game like it does now. Add more levels, have another introduction level(Sierra 117 felt unneeded), and have a bigger role of the Elites.

Then that's it, stop the series right there. The other games never existed.

That's better than what I had in mind >.> I haven't read the Halo books yet so I wouldn't have even thought of that.

I would have imagined some sort of plot where Rosenda exists in Halo: Reach and Noble Six gets on the Autumn for some jolly cooperation with Master Chief. That still leaves two players without characters <.<

So it would go like this:

Pre Halo CE/Reach:
- Doctor Halsey doesn't escape Reach
- John doesn't send "Blue Team" down with the other Spartans. Fred and Kelly stay with John and Linda
- Red Team and Doctor Halsey die on Reach

Halo: CE
- Game has 4 player co-op. Has the rest of Blue Team be AI's (like Noble Team in Reach) if a player slot is not filled.
- Crash on Halo
- Get to see Halo UNSC base like in "The Flood" book
- Delve more into Covie side of the story. Have a few cutscenes with Arbiter.
- Hidden terminals for Forerunner shizzle
- Pretty much same story

Halo 2:
- Same story
- Delve more into Miranda's character (both her parents just died after all)
- Still switches from Chief to Arby point of view. Get a squad of random Elites as Arby.
- On last mission with Chief, Fred gets killed by the Flood or some shit.

Halo 3
- Better story
- Arby replaces Fred as a squad mate
- More bro bonding between Arby and Blue Team
- Gravemind boss battle (Bungie was such a tease with that scene after Truth died)
- Forward Unto Dawn doesn't get split in half, but doesn't make it to Earth

Halo 4
- Cortana still rampant, but worse than in Halo 4. Tries to kill Blue Team and becomes a hazard.
- Have Didact actually be powerful
- Have Del Rio attempt to arrest Chief
- Have Blue Team fight there way through Infinity to kill Didact
- Have Lasky be a good pilot. He become the new "Echo 419" when he decides to go rouge with you
- Have Didact kill Lasky
- Final battle be Blue Team getting their asses whipped, then John sprinkles some "Luck" and somehow kills Didact
- Cortana still rampant ass shit
- Cortana doesn't die
- Halo 4 ends with Blue Team being rouge and having a rampant UNSC Smart AI. Halo 5 would probably have a similar "Locke hunting them" scenario
